If you go as a group of 4 and take the £10 off opening night offer the card pays for itself right there and then. Or I f you go as a single and take the same opening night offer offer 4 separate times it pays for itself. Then you have the booking fee savings, drinks discounts etc on top of that. It’s one of the few loyalty cards that does actually work well I think. There’s a £10 off opening night offer? I’ve never seen that. How do you get it?

Just sign in, select the seat and the various offers will be listed. There’s th3 occasional production that doesn’t offer it but 90% of them do. It ranges from £5 to £10 off and maximum of four tickets.
That’s how it works for Manchester anyway, can’t speak for other venues.

The opening night offers are usually one of the few ones publicised in the season brochures

As you see depending on what aerial you live in a ATG card can give you tremendous value for money, however let’s be frank ATG only seem interested in revenue and spreadsheets and if they went to the wall I wouldn’t be sorry.

Near enough every show I've wanted to see at that venue has offered at least £5 (normally £10) off opening night

Same for Milton Keynes and Aylesbury. It's still a shame that they don't email to draw attention to these offers though, you have to log in and check

Being based in the Northwest, personally I’ve found the ATG card to be really good value for money as I have access to the Liverpool Empire as well as the Manchester Opera House and Palace theatres.
Over the last few years, I’ve certainly got more than my money’s worth from the card with all the first night savings and no booking fees benefit. Of all the theatre memberships I currently hold, this has been the most beneficial. It’s just a shame that I can’t get more use out of it for WE theatres. I only really use it for the priority booking benefit for London stuff. However, it had on the odd occasion thrown up some savings as in the case for the old KX theatre for In the Heights and the Railway Children as well as getting access to the £25 front row tickets for the Excorist.

I just looked - I can’t find any opening night discounts on London venues, which are the ones I go to. Which is probably why I’ve never seen it. Thus confirming that this card is not a no-brainer value-for-money proposition for me - I need to see 9-10 ATG shows a year for the savings on booking fees to break even with the annual fee, given that I don’t drink and so don’t buy drinks in theatre bars. Or I need to feel like I’m getting really good use out of priority booking. I just haven’t been using it enough to justify the fee.

Maybe that’s because London venues use dynamic pricing. The ATG opening night offer is pretty much all we get in the regions. The theatre could be empty on a Saturday night and they’d still be charging full price.

Yeah I got one too. The Miss Saigon offer isn't the one I found online though. The picture is from a promo they did last week where some of the cast landed in an authentic helicopter at the local airport to celebrate opening night

Going to keep tabs on prices over the coming weeks.

I have been an ATG card holder for a few years now but rarely receive emails for offers or even when tickets go ok pre sale for members. Does anyone have a good email address or name of someone in ATG who might be able to sort this out as I only ever get fobbed off.

Just as a bit of help, its worth checking your account on their website.... (granted which isn't the most user friendly) Previously, I hadn't been receiving emails, but changed my account preferences and it got sorted. Log in here: secure.atgtickets.com/Online/login.aspGo to 'My Account' at the top Under 'Account Information' make sure 'Data Protection' is ticked... Yes, I would like to receive special offers, updates and information from ATG (Ambassador Theatre Group)I will say, when I changed these settings I started receiving a lot of post too. A quick email to atgcustomer@theambassadors.com and they changed the postal preferences for me and now I just get emails.

Of course check settings first but my account settings are correct and it still doesn’t work. There’s definitely something wrong with their system.

Sort of related, but which Londond venues are ATG? I find it quite hard to tell compared to touring venues and I really want to take advantage of the 10% bar discount.

I can never remember anyway so just check the name badges of the bar staff - they should have the ATG logo on! But here's the list: www.atgtickets.com/venues/london/

Not an ATG venue but the ATG card is accepted at the bar at the Donmar if you ever go there.

According to their website: Apollo Victoria, Churchill (Bromley), Duke of York's, Fortune, Harold Pinter, Lyceum, New Wimbledon, Phoenix, Piccadilly, Playhouse, Richmond, Savoy, Time and Leisure Studios and Trafalgar Studios.

Donmar is part of the ATG group. The Donmar is an independent not-for-profit theatre and has been since Sam Mendes' time. ATG used to provide box office services there but don't anymore, although I am willing to believe they still run the bar. I'll try my ATG card next time I'm there.

I seem to be back in favour with their mailing list now as I've just had an offer for the Cursed Child

According to the Donmar programme, ATG provide the FOH services for them, that's all. They are indeed totally independent otherwise. Wikipedia (and I know it’s not always right)says ATG acquired the Donmar in 2000

What hope is there if ATG cannot be factually correct on their website? Churchill (Bromley) is owned by HQ Theatre and has been for 3/4 years now.
