Crumbs, I think I was better off out walking, hot and humid as it was, rather than being stuck indoors fretting over calculations and chocolate like you lot. Saw some beautiful views and have really earned the large piece of cake I'm about to devour, along with re-hydrating (with tea, that is!) I multi tasked. I was out enjoying views and posting on here Well done in one sense, infofreako - though I have to be strict with myself when out walking and leave my phone off when in motion or I'd be forever wanting to take photos which would slow me down. On the other hand, if men can actually multi-task, we ladies will be expecting this of all your fellows so they may not thank you. Btw: hope it's clear that when it comes to pizza - which I love - however you choose to cut it, I get a whole one. No sharing slices for me - the idea!

I must've been listening too much to "Gypsy" in the last few days. I was in a meeting today and a colleague was speaking in a very soft voice which made him hard to understand - I was on the verge of shouting "SING OUT, LOUISE! SING OUT!"

Would you rather have 6/7 or 5/6 of a bar of chocolate? (Give reasons for your answer.) 6/7ths. That's 0.85 of a bar. 5/6ths is only 0.83. I've already eaten it Theatremonkey...Mwahahaha *evil Mr Burns type hand rubbing*

I spent the day running talks and giving a keynote address on Angels in America, at the National Theatre.
So y'know pretty average.
Seriously though when this came back I said the "dream" would involve writing something, seeing rehearsals and doing some education work. I managed all that and more. So I'm having a moment feeling prettyeased and proud.
But also dying of heat exhaustion. That too.

My favourite day of the year! Scottish summer The weather in Edinburgh is brilliant with loads of people sitting in Princes Street gardens and in The Meadows. Will go for a nice stroll around lunchtime.

Just spent the last hour hanging up my Glenn Close signed Sunset costume print and signed leaflet frame. I have officially finished decorating my living room after moving into my house a year ago. I now feel at peace lol.

I'm trying to sort out car insurance/tax while also finishing a short play. The former might be making the latter more bitter and angry than originally intended...

Dance class followed by a big enough lunch to put back on all the calories I burned in the class. Then decided my credit card needed an outing to the shops...oops...

I spent £200 on new clothes yesterday! 😲 I blame mum - I always seem to spend more when I go shopping with her. Discovering that I can now fit into a smaller size may have had something to do with it too! ☺️
Hopefully I'm now more or less set for the summer.

Today I painted the bedroom doors
And did new sealant around the sink area in kitchen
Awful
Hate it
Feel sick doing this sort of home improvement
It's not rewarding

I needed this. Finishing off work before leaving for London took an hour or two too long, but whatever. London. Playground. First unusual sighting of an heavily armed police at Moor St. station. Favourite music & Philip Glass memoir on way down.
After an half hour/quarter mile queue to enter the Roundhouse (quick bag checks & metal-dedector wands on entry, not sure why it moved so slow), an absolute dream of a set from Erasure - they're playing off the back of their strongest album in a good 20 years, new material absolutely stood up fine next to the stone cold classics & when they weren't playing those it was barely-heard deep cuts (It Doesn't Have to Be, Knocking on Your Door, Here I Go Impossible Again, Phantom Bride...). Bass-heavy arangements, tuned down a step or two, but again, whatever. Andy topless for a while. Safely back in my Travelodge now, and possibly getting a crush on the blonde AvenueQish puppet girl they're using for their advertising.

It was 36 degrees celsius on my balcony yesterday. I was basically a puddle of sweat. It's slightly better today but still way too hot. My city in its infinite penny-pinching wisdom keeps half the outdoor pools and lidos closed though "because too many staff are on vacation" (how German!) while they could rake it in. Including the one nearby. So nothing but work for me

I have a bonus "Privaledge day" off the day job. So I'm celebrating by going into town to claim my free coffee and cake from John Lewis, before doing some non-day-job work this afternoon. I know how to rock a day off.

I've got the week off work. Am off to Liverpool for a mini-break just because I've never been.

What a lovely feeling to have no particular place to go, and no particular time to arrive there.
Very nice meal at Chicken Shop, a meander through Covent Garden down the Strand to the river & now on a boat to Greenwich watching Parliament disappear behind me.

I love days like that. I've been reworking a piece that I worked on a couple of years back

London has it's problems but on nice days just wandering through like that brings out it's best side.
