Hope you recover soon. Which route are you taking up Snowdon? A friend was telling me of the different ones and some sound really hard core. Thank you. I honestly haven’t thought that far ahead yet! Probably the easiest one! I’m not the most outdoorsy or fit person (though I am improving my fitness) so it’s going to be a real challenge! I don’t know if you remember last year my Dad was very poorly and had to keep being 999’d to hospital and he spent some weeks on the cardiac unit. I’m doing it to raise money for the hospital charity trust specifically the cardiac care unit.

Easiest is the Llanberis path with the caveat it is the longest, more or less follows the train track so the gradient is not too bad. The other 5 recognised routes are more interesting but do have more challenging sections. www.visitsnowdonia.info/snowdon-walking-routes

Watching the curling. Brrr. It's cold at this time of night.
(Later) That was worth seeing. It's being replayed from 08:00, and it's particularly exciting from the 7th end (which will be at around 09:45).

Just don't be that person trying to do it in flipflops and having to get rescued

A fun morning having a look at the history of the Beano comic exhibition at Somerset House followed by a bit of urban exploration with a tour of the disused Aldwych / Strand station before trips to the Royal Court and Donmar theatres to complete my day.

There's some sort of varsity festival at the University this weekend, so the city centre has been alive today with Morris dancing.
I know some of the chaps in the local 'side', and would happily join, but green slacks don't suit me.
Shame, really. It would be nice to have a legitimate reason to wield a big stick whilst in drink. I got six months last time! 🤪

Watching the Wheelchair Curling in the Paralympics. In one match the GB team eventually did well but they started quite badly. I think perhaps the commentators might have found a better way to describe their early poor performance than the phrase "the wheels have really fallen off".
(Made me giggle.)

I’m an idiot. Going to be travelling the week before/day of Mother’s Day, so in an attempt to be organised at the weekend thought I’d order some flowers from Moonpig now to be delivered on the day.
Just got the ‘your package will be delivered today’ email.
Bugger!!
Must have not saved the change to the delivery option properly.

Baffled that Instagram has just kicked me out of my account for "unusual activity" & says I may be let back in in 24 hours. I was only posting a flower picture, something I've done every day for nearly 2 years! Has anyone else had this? If so what did you do & what happened?

Could be someone trying to take over your account.
If you get a message from someone saying that they're locked out of their account and they need your help trying to get it back, and they say you'll be sent a code that you need to forward to them, ignore it. It's a scam. (This applies even if it's a friend messaging you.)

The only message I got was the one on the actual Instagram page where I had to enter my mobile number & got sent a text message with a number I then had to enter into the Instagram page to verify. I then got a "you may get access back in about 24 hours" message. I haven't had anything about forwarding codes to other people & since I can't access my Instragram account if anyone's messaging me I haven't got the messages.

It’s never locked me out, but it did once decide that I was pressing like on too many pictures and froze the ability to do that for something like three days.

Not a great start today. Got into work for 8.15am, had a LFT and was sat back on my couch for 9.30am after testing positive for COVID. Thankfully symptoms are pretty mild with just a bit of a cold at the moment. On a positive note, at least I'll get good use out NETFLIX and DISNEY+ rather than subjecting myself fo the daytime tv offerings.

There are some roadworks near me, with single lane working and traffic lights. They're quite long roadworks so the lights spend a couple of minutes on each phase in order to get a decent amount of traffic through. As I was approaching them today I was reminded that the last two times I went this way the light turned red just as I got there and I end up waiting at the head of the queue watching all the other cars disappear into the distance.
Sure enough, just as the car two ahead of me passed the lights they started to change and I ended up being the first car waiting again. I think these lights have it in for me.

I popped out at luncheon to see that Matt Goss from Bros. He's very popular with women of a certain age...much like myself!

Had a weird encounter on the underground tonight, walking down the passage in Green Park between the Piccadilly and Victoria lines. A young guy approached me saying he’s trying to get to Finsbury Park. Said I don’t know where that is, so he said it again “Fins-buh-ree Park” as if he couldn’t believe I didn’t know the place. Told him again I don’t know. Seemed to accept it this time, then put his hand out for fist bumping, which I did, even though I’d rather not. Then he said he’d had some trouble, showed me he’s missing a front tooth and that he’s got quite a lot of dried blood all over his top, which I hadn’t noticed before as I was looking at his face. Now, any stranger approaching me makes me suspicious, but this was too much. I was already trying to walk a little faster to get away from him, but now more so. As I moved ahead he kept calling out stuff like “chin up, mate” and “walk with confidence.” I got up the stairs two at a time and went as far down the platform as I could before the train left, don’t know if he was still following at that point. The whole thing made me a bit paranoid.
He may well have been genuine, but in that case why wasn’t he asking anyone else for help. There’s plenty of signage and dozens of other people about, so why ask me? I’ve been hassled before when I gave a homeless man some change and then he wouldn’t leave me alone, and a couple of times in Liverpool with homeless people again. Is it just that I’m on my own? Does that make me an easy target? I’m 6ft-ish with an angry-looking relaxed face 😠 you’d think that would make people leave me alone if anything.

A happy moment as I just got a seat filling offer for a show I wanted to see on a day next week when I'm free. I've noted the quality and range of these offers is increasing all the time with some prestigious venues using the service for big name shows. Please excuse vagueness but that's the rules. I already got a telling off a couple of months ago for accidentally using my back up email address to make a booking.
I hadn't previous realised just how awful the legroom is in the Grand Circle in one venue famous for concerts and shows and if I hadn't been able to move to an aisle seat I don't think I would have lasted the two hour set on Sunday evening. Was aware of tallish people constantly shuffling around in front of me. Wouldn't sit there again at any price.

No, I still haven't heard anything back from Instagram. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do. It's very depressing. Your problem sounds different to mine though.
