2nd jab of Pfizer wiped my colleagues and I out. It was like we had jetlag without the luxury of the holiday Interesting, you’re the first person I’ve heard of having side effects from Pfizer. Did you have any from the first jab? I was also destroyed by the second Pfizer jab. After the first one I just felt achy the following day with a very sore arm which I usually don't get, and made it to about 4:00pm before working from bed. After the second one (which I had on a Thursday morning) I felt completely fine until mid afternoon the next day and then was basically wiped out for the weekend. I actually think it affected me for about a week overall but at a low level. Obviously I'm not complaining and I would never not have got it even if the side effects were 100x worse. But I would recommend getting the second Pfizer jab closer to a weekend/days off work etc. Most people I know had a sore arm to varying degrees and most have had some tiredness after the second. But my colleagues and I are at the younger end of the spectrum of those who have been vaccinated as we all work in a hospital and apparently younger people are more likely to get side effects.

I was Moderna'd yesterday, and I'm pleased to report that, so far, I'm not only free of negative side effects, but the vaccine seems to have cured my bad back, which has been causing me real discomfort for months.
My arm doesn't even hurt, despite sleeping on it for half the night and then carrying home a heavy bag of Maris Pipers. Just imagine if I hadn't been able to reach into the pantry for my bottle of Henderson's Relish!
I doubt it makes any difference, but with such pathetically puny arms, the young lady had to go very high and inject almost into my shoulder.

I was pfizered - tired after first jab, nothing else, but aching arm after second jab, much more than any previous jabs and also v tired for a couple of days.

Yesterday was 3 weeks+ since my 1st jab, first day off work where I could travel freely, and the kids are back in school, so ... I got a train to Southport for a lovely day out with loads of sunshine and fresh air. Good for the soul. I'd been staying very local since New year, and only going on the bus to Salford for work. All I need now is my haircut on Saturday!

From one of my 5 million e mails received I saw a Christmas Market cruise for December 2022 on board the new P and O Iona. Having phoned for more information we are now pre booked for the bargain price of £449 for a week! This includes £30 on board spend each too. It's nice having something to look forward to and the new ship looks lovely.

I had my second jab yesterday- I still can’t believe that just over a year since the first lockdown I am now fully vaccinated. Science is amazing!

So I'm reading a discussion about low-grade, slightly pathetic unexplained events. Someone was writing about using a ouija board and mentioned some bizarre events such as saying "If you don’t want to tell us your name, make a car horn beep" and then they'd hear a car horn. And just as I read that sentence a car horn beeped in the road outside my own house.
Of course, it's just a coincidence...
...that happened as I was reading a post about coincidences.

I had my 2nd Pfizer jab yesterday. Injection site was marginally more stiff later in the day than the 1st jab, but other than that a similar lack of noticeable side effects.

I had my 2nd Pfizer jab yesterday. Injection site was marginally more stiff later in the day than the 1st jab, but other than that a similar lack of noticeable side effects. My experience, also. The fun part was, as I'm in the US now, I was showing the vaccination registrars my NHS record of the first jab... fully a dozen people looked at it and asked "what's this?" The only problem is that because I received the first shot in February, they had to go up the chain of command (literally, as the site was being manned by Army personnel) until the Colonel/Doctor in charge came to see me. Luckily, he started the conversation with, "We're going to be able to get you vaccinated today" (I hadn't realized NOT getting it was a possibility!) but wanted me to know that they couldn't guarantee I'd get as much benefit from the second shot now as I would have if I had taken it 2 weeks after the first, as the CDC recommends. He hastened to add that there's no proof that it DOESN'T further boost my immunity, but I should be cautious and assume I'm 80% immune, not the 90/95% quoted for after the second shot. I've seen some encouraging reports so I'm fairly confident I have close to 'full' immunity and everyone's being very conservative to cover their behinds. But it's a good thing I'd already decided to continue wearing a mask and taking all the now-normal precautions, otherwise, I'd have been gutted.

Just had my first jab today and got my sticker. A fantastic set up at my local rugby club's stadium. During the 15 minute recovery period post jab, I was having a read of the pamphlet the staff hand out post jab about possible side effects from the Moderna vaccine. These include - feeling faint/light headed, changes in your heart beat, nausea and stomach pain. These are all symptoms experienced when trying to use the NT booking system when new shows are announced so nothing new there then.
In other news, trying to solve IT problems over the phone for my mum whose laptop will no longer talk to her BT router has been a nightmare. Now she isn't the most tech savvy so trying to get her to try various options and explain what I need her to do has been very frustrating. Despite being on the phone for over an hour, she then pipes up "Don't worry about it, I'll speak to a friend who is an IT manager!". 😡

I have just finished watching the entire box set of the series 7UP. One of the best documentaries I have ever seen following the lives of children from different backgrounds from age 7 - 63. Sadly I doubt there will be any more with the death of Michael Apted earlier this year who produced and directed it. A unique and brilliant series.

All the best people are being Moderna'd, david. I had my jab on the very spot, sans ice, where Sheffield Steelers normally play, so maybe it's only given in sport settings? 🏒⛸🥅 Ironic really, considering how un-sporty I am!

Trapped in car with my mother and dog at vets. She has no phone so I have to come to ring for drop and collect (I'm sure they'd manage if she just told them she didn't have a phone). Been here 45 mins and dog not even gone in. So tense in case I finally snap and say something. We should not be in enclosed places together.

OK, Hermes, it's great that you send me a email to tell me the two hour slot when my parcel will arrive. But it would be a bit more useful if you didn't send it a mere 17 minutes before the start of that slot.

This week Hermes sent me a 2 hour slot and 5 minutes before that slot ended I got another e mail with another 2 hour slot. So 2 hours wasted listening out for the doorbell and not moving in case I didnt hear it.

With Hermes a good half the time they say they had trouble getting to the address, which given I live on a city residential road with road access from two directions is guff. The other half they do at least leave it outside my door instead of running off like a lot of the other ones.

Manic day today! I was on web chat at work which is always a challenge cos I talk to multiple people at the same time so I have to be on the ball! On the plus side I can just put my AirPods in and blast musicals into my brain so that's an upside!!! Woke up to the news I can now book a vaccine (turned 40 in Nov) but easier said than done! Website had nothing closer to me than Stafford so I'm now waiting for my doctors to text me with an appointment hopefully a bit closer to home! I may end up trekking to Stafford cos my doctors are worse than useless currently. I've got another issue that needs investigation and I've moved no further forward since Feb thanks to them! On the plus side, it's a long weekend!

Might be worth keep checking Roxie, I had the same issue, I was offered Birmingham at one point and live in Kent! Local ones did eventually appear though only for vaccine one.

I did check earlier and one came up near to me but not until the end of the month! 2 of my friends who are both 40 (in fact a few weeks younger than me!) with no underlying conditions and at the same surgery as me, had their invites from the doctor the week before last and had their jabs last week less than 2 miles away, so it seems I'm best waiting for my text from the docs. Why they didn't text me at the same time as my mates is anyones guess, only thing I can think is both their partners are 43 and were invited at the same time so maybe a household thing! Although my housemates (lol parents) are in their 70s so on that footing I should have been vaccinated in Dec!! *sigh* I'm not overly happy with my GP, they've been messing me about with an 'urgent' referral since Feb. I know it's covid but there's 6 people in Stoke hospital with covid and none of them in urgent care so.....

Well that sounds more positive, think my doctor's gave up with jabbing people. Snap, my 'housemate' are that old too. Hope you're referral is sorted too, that's really slow if it's urgent.

Might be speaking out of turn but phoning might get appointments earlier and nearer. Find the number of nearest centre and if not right place then possibly will be directed to correct number. A few actual calls might get result. Internet isn’t always best place to arrange things.

Today I'm back at it in the office for the first time in almost 7 months. Its so nice to be back in the west end working in the industry I love. Onwards and upwards!

Today I'm back at it in the office for the first time in almost 7 months. So how dusty and spiderwebby was it?
(I'm sure there must be some people who have gone back to work to discover that someone didn't empty the fridge and now they need a crowbar and a flamethrower.)
