Hiya basi1faw1ty , glad you found your way on to here. You'll find that your alliterative skills will serve you well on the board. We are really casual here, and don't have an intro place, so your debut in this thread is fine. Heheh, same here, TM. Oh jolly good, me thinks I'm gonna fit in well here

Today's my birthday and the complementary stagey gift of the year was the 2018 Hamilton calender. I am not disappointed. (Also my birthday is the same day as Alexander Hamilton which is probably why my mam thought to get me it)

Strange few days. Getting through a lot of issues and getting back to theatre going gradually. My caring role became more difficult and whilst i refuse to give up on it completely there are situations that need professional carers and i feel disappointed as it means failing those i care about. Onwards and upwards though. Outside of that difficult situation i am getting married this summer and recently discovered i have a 3 year old son. (Its his Mum I'm marrying)

So sorry about all the difficulties and hope they resolve, info, but how marvellous to have a three year old son! And to be getting married. Wonders await you.

I've been twice to the gym this week! It's a major achievement for me, as I never worked out before, so was a bit apprehensive about going, but needs must. I must say, I really enjoyed my first yoga session and wasn't aware how inflexible I am.

Went and got a much needed haircut this morning, first time in over 20 years someone other than my normal hairdresser has cut it. It now feels rather short even though I've only had around half an inch taken off the length

Fans of M & S jaffa cakes (I tried them but was not converted) may disagree, but I think their Tiramisu Cake is far better - if no good at all in the nutritional sense.

Not sure quite which details you require, @theatremonkey.com: cost, nutritional content, customer satisfaction rating?! But I think it's a new(ish) product as I noticed it along with a Mango version in the Wimbledon branch yesterday; my own local M & S is too infuriatingly small to get the new food products I see at other branches. It costs £2.80 and like other cakes in the same range, allegedly serves 6 (yeah, right: who on earth eats a mere sixth of an already tiddly cake?), or 3 if one of those is me. Shame I can't post the approving sound effects but the yum score is pretty high.

Hahaha exactly. It shouldn’t feel any different. I mean I can feel a difference when I only have the ends cut off, but 4 months ago when I had a major haircut (I’m talking half my hair length) I couldn’t tell 😂

Cake and haircuts: two things (other than theatre, cinema and walking) which normally lift my spirits. Except when, as recently, my usual hairdresser butchers my hair to the extent that after 10 days of trying in vain to make it look half-decent, I had to go back and ask her to tweak it. Cake can be both less reliable but also less demoralising if you don't like it - offer the rest to someone else or chuck it away and move on. In the case of a theatre or cinema visit, come here and talk to others about it!

Am on a bus to meet up with friends for lunch and shopping. Need some holiday clothes - should be fun, as I am now officially no longer a ‘plus size’ and should be able to shop anywhere on the high st!
I’ve lost about 6 stone in the last year. Still got a little way to go for ‘healthy weight’.
Annoyingly there’s engineering work on the trains so I had a choice of forking out £15 for a bus or taking the official rail replacement bus that takes twice as long to get there.

Same here, kathryn! 6 stone is astonishing, well done! I hope you gave yourself plenty of pats on the back for that

Yes, I’m allowing myself to feel pleased - not too pleased, though, as I know the real challenge is maintenance. I’ve lost a lot of weight before only to have it slowly creep back on until I ended up bigger than I started.

Well done Kathryn that's a fantastic achievement.
I have prob put the weight of a small elephant on today as spent most of it eating chocolate biscuits trying not to pull my hair out at my naughty kitten.
Any advice of how to stop him using my leg as a climbing tree and biting me. He has lots of toys, interactive toys, scratch post, tree house but he still just likes to attack me!
