Serious issues with the marking tonight. Massive lack of consistency. Alexandra stumbled - no comments made, gets a 39. Mollie stumbles as badly - and gets lots of comments and a lower score. Really pleased for Debbie. It is about time this show had an older winner. Does that surprise anyone this series? The Burke-bot could spend the whole routine sat on the floor and the judges would fall over themselves for her. It's a joke. As much as it pains me to say it, I actually think Ruth could have been my favourite last night. Really?!! There were so many good dances last night. You must have liked Joe's cheeky Charleston followed by super-entendres re: "coming from behind" from Shirl?

I thought Ruth Luth Langsford straddling her partner and effectively humping him on the floor was an unpleasant spectacle. I notice they kept the camera off her son while that was going on. He must have been mortified.

No, just Eamonn if I’m not mistaken immediately after the ‘incident’ but I think they showed the son later in the judging or the interview bit.

Well Debbie McGee continues to be amazing. I love both her dancing and her relationship with Giovanni. And I love that there's an older lady celeb who is a real contender. I also adored Joe McFadden (aka my future husband...shhh I don't care if I'm possibly not 'his type') who is both progressing really well, and being an actor doing some fab character work in the dances. Also he's pretty.
Thought Mollie did a good job, and I'm warming to her a lot more. Ruth's Paso was...barely a dance never mind a Paso but I still loved it/her. Thought Aston was weak but not his fault- that routine/costume/everything wasn't helping, but he doesn't have much personality in the dances anyway. Alexandra was technically great again but I'd kind of forgotten it by the end of the show...
Ans Susan! Ah Susan. Still delivering steadily improving if not naturally talented dance with personality and love of dance. I'm by no means saying she should win, but I hope she gets to Blackpool and gets to do a couple more super-fun dances. Also I love that they included her wife in the VT last night.

Susan's wife has been featured quite a lot in the audience and talking in the sound bites at the end of the results show. She has probably been featured as much as anyone's family/partner apart from Eamonn.
I wish they'd feature Susan's Dad again as he is a very distinguished surgeon and senior medical person Professor Sir Kenneth Calman who seemed to be having a great time watching Susan dance the week he was there.
I wonder if Ruth and Eamonn's son has ever walked in on them by accident!

I was just saying it was nice...not accusing them of not featuring her! I watch most 'It Takes Two' as well as the show every week...it's just nice to see they are indeed treating a gay person's partner the same as the others...and actually more to the point I'd rather watch Mrs Calman try and Jive every week than some of the other rubbish they shove in a VT.

"Yes, of course they're showing a gay woman's partner, but what *I'd* like to see more of is the gay woman's *father*, a *man*." LOLOLOLOLOL

"Yes, of course they're showing a gay woman's partner, but what *I'd* like to see more of is the gay woman's *father*, a *man*." LOLOLOLOLOL Also, little ladies you couldn't POSSIBLY be enough of a fan of Calman to already know who her Dad is so I must explain it. (Although incidentally what a woman's Dad does weirdly doesn't interest me as much as her say, comedy or in this instance dance routines) Anyway I'd also like to compliment Mrs C on her excellent fleece. Which I assume was her 'going out fleece' as she was going on the telly. (followers of both Mrs Cs on twitter will get that)

Crikey! I had him as a shoo in for the final. Alex and Debbie have a clear run now.

Yes - a shock result!! Aston clearly the better overall dancer, BUT that routine, theme and costuming was dreadful as has been previously remarked. Was that a deliberate attempt to "downgrade" him in the competition as he was one of the favourites to win from the start?
It is a hugely entertaining show but we must not forget the "manipulation". Susan and Ruth kept in for entertainment so the show does not get too "serious".
Alexandra must think she can win now Aston out of the way!

Sadly I don't think Alexandra will win, she's 'too good' and the public never let the obvious favourite win, they prefer a journey and an underdog. It's like Ore and Danny last year - Danny was pretty much perfection but Ore showed more growth (and his jive was electric, to be fair). My vote continues to go to Alexandra but I think Gemma will steal it 😁

Yes the production team clearly like Gemma, and she is working hard but not a natural dancer at all. I don't think she will make the final.

Absolutely ridiculous. I'm never watching again....... Oh, I know where you're coming from. Mollie will be out next week or the week after - she is no dancer but neither should have been in the bottom two anyway. This is why I never vote or get "involved" with the eliminations as the results are often ridiculous!

(I’ve not forgiven you yet for booking Hamilton tickets. ) Oh, THAT'S what I've done! You may well have the last laugh Caiaphy because according to the FAQs I might end up having to actually enter the building and suffer the torture rather than give them to Mini and her friend! But seriously, how can someone who did that paso last week be out? I am really really really really really never watching again...

No shock. Janette isn't a great ballroom dancer and can't teach it. This isn't the first time she's had a decent parter struggle with ballroom.
On another note has Kelly Jones got a portrait in his attic. He's barely aged in 20 years!
Great dance from Chloe and Neil (and from Neil and Katya in the intro) I hope they get partners next year.

Re: potential finalists - Joe is picking up steam in my opinion. Didn't want Aston to make the final due to similar opinions as listed above but it should have been Ruth tonight.
Also, the conspiracy theories that creep into this thread are hilarious.

Crikey! I had him as a shoo in for the final. Me too! But Aston hated the hair didn’t he? Based on what we saw in the dance off I reckon the right couple stayed. But hey, I love AJ. He looked like he could knock the lights out of every judge. Tough kid.

Feel sorry for Janette as she is a fantastic little dancer and has a great personality and I was really looking forward to seeing their showdance. Janette is a great salsa dancer but the rest of her Latin is average and her ballroom is dreadful. Personality-wise she's one of my favourite pros, but as a dancer of the core disciplines she's near the bottom of the list. That Viennese Waltz exposed her weaknesses as a ballroom dancer and teacher, and it cost them dearly. Anyone other than Ruth going was a joke though, she's the worst left by miles and I don't understand what could possibly be motivating people to vote for her!
