If it is Joan Collin's wig cleaner going on the show, and I think Ryan once mentioned he does that job for a living. You do the maths, Tibidabo . Dame Joanie wears a wig !

Never heard of her. Is she funny? Or does she do all those not-funny panel shows that I don't watch?

So excited for Susan Calman! Love her. Also nice to have a non-traditional girl in the mix! as she said on Twitter 'haven't danced with a man in over a decade who leads?'

No idea who she is. Can anyone give examples of comedians/iennes with a similar type of humour so I can figure out if I'm likely to find her funny or cringeworthy?

I think that's a 'risky' way to go about finding if you like her or not. Why not YouTube some of her videos or listen on BBC Radio iPlayer. Or just wait until Strictly begins and see how she is on that - I know my opinions have changed about people throughout a series.

I'd say youtube her stand up, or her on panel shows too. I really like her humour, I'd describe it as 'sarcastic Scottish' if pushed, but it's better to experience it yourself. I like her as a person as well, and I really hope people warm to her on the show.

Aston with his performing background and dance ability has to be a favourite to win, I'd like to see him partnered with Janette as she is a pocket rocket and would be a good size for him to do lifts with.
Good to see a newer personality like Susan Calman getting the gig too. I haven't seen much of her comedy so I have no real opinion on her talent. She should be able to add humour and give the likes of Craig as good as she gets. Whilst she may not be a likely winner, she can have a decent run and raise her profile.
Strictly's wig cleaner will be delighted if Joan Collins is on the show as they must have been under utilised for the last 3 years.

Susan Calman hosted the daytime quiz show The Boss on BBC 1 earlier this year, some of the forum posters may have seen her on that if they are wondering what she is like.
Apparently she is a qualified lawyer and her father is a highly distinguished senior Surgeon ( Not Sturgeon!)

His background may work against him if the public feel he has an unfair advantage. Plus he isnt the most likeable personality so will be interesting to see how he (amd his ego) get on

Next announcement due on Friday! I wonder why they're randomly skipping a couple of days - makes no sense! I much preferred when it was all a secret until the launch...

Next announcement due on Friday! I wonder why they're randomly skipping a couple of days - makes no sense! Very odd. Especially as they did weekend announcements. (Simon made sense as it was his show.) I quite liked just having one everyday. They often have a double or triple reveal on The One Show. To pass the time, who would be your ideal partner (past or present, male or female) and which dance would you want to dance with them?

A Waltz with Aljaz (yes I may have thought [dreamed] about this before...) Never mind that he's far too tall for me and Waltz isn't actually my favourite dance or the one I'm best at, I just think it would be rather lovely to dance it with him...
