Louise is probably signing on to the arena tour so they'll want her in the top 3. She has, as has Danny Mac. I saw the ad foe the arena tour the other day. It's hosted by Anita Rani

It's hosted by Anita Rani I wanted to go last year because it was presented by Mellie Mel Giedroyc, but for me it's a bit overpriced for what it is.

I'd like a Danny/ Ore/Claudia final too, but I don't really understand the general apathy/dislike(?) towards Louise. I thought her AT and her American Smooth were fantastic. Her comportment is outstanding and her timing excellent. And I love Kevin. Showdances are a strange thing - the pros can have such a hit (Camilla with Tom) or miss (Aliona with Matt Baker (gymnastics fest) or Artem with Kara, same year.) Out of my 3 chosen finalists above, I only look forward to Oti's showdance with any thought of not peeping out from behind my fingers in trepidation. Whilst I do like Joanne's choreography most of the time, I find myself questioning what she'd do if the rule book were tossed aside. And I've bung on sufficiently about what I think of AJ's choreography. Enough already. *bung = past of bang* Honest!

Unless there's a huge upset I think we can predict the winner will be Danny, runner up will be Louise, third place Ore. Agree. It'll be one of the dullest finals ever. No excitement at all. It's clearly all set up for Danny to win.

The showdance I really didn't like was Louis and Flavia's. Too much showing off his strength.

The BBC are squeaky clean now with phone voting after the scandal years ago - was it Blue Peter of all things? And I can't see how it serves them to have one person win over another. Doesn't Danny act in some soap on a different channel? Why on earth would the BBC want him to win? I've never ever felt any of this is a fix whatsoever. The producers might have favourite pros they give potentially 'better' contestants to, but even that can backfire. Look at Flavia and Russell and their wonderful lasting friendship. Or Ed and Katya - like him or not (and I don't particularly) she's been amazing with him. Fix? No. Nein. Nyet.

I don't think it's a fix, as much as it's a (some might say) poor initial lineup selection. When you have 3 or 4 really amazing dancers (or people who have showcased rhythm and athleticism in other things, e.g. musicals, sports/athletics etc. etc.) and then a bunch of regular people with regular base dancing skill levels, it's often quite clear from the start who will be staying and who will be going.
But then of course the BBC can't know for CERTAIN that just because people have pre-existing skills that might aid them, they'll actually do well on Strictly. And it's nice to see people with diverse careers etc. enter the competition to begin with. I don't think it's fixed, and there's really nothing that whoever casts the show can do about people who may already have a slight advantage over others.

Agree with you talkstageytome. But what I'm trying to understand is WHY anyone would think the BBC would want a soap actor from Channel 4 or whatever to win SCD.

I'm not sure he's still in Hollyoaks though. He might be a good signing for Eastenders in future. I think the fact that he doesn't have a job means he can train A LOT - and it shows.

Ok. But if the BBC thought like that surely they'd 'fix' it for Naga or Ore to win? Still not really understanding.
Also, Personally I'd have thought Danny was more destined for one of Craig's shows then EE?

Well pretty boy signings don't seem to last that long on Eastenders so maybe he can do both haha.

The phone vote for the final cannot be fixed. It is completely independently verified.
However, who gets to the final can be manipulated by the judges marks, the order of play, the dances, the music, the costumes. The same applies with the final bar the judges marks which are there for guidance only at that stage. But the public phone vote will be hugely swayed by factors very much in the control of the producers.
As far as I am concerned it's a light entertainment Saturday night family show, brilliantly produced(for the most part) and should be treated as such. Who wins? Who cares!
Danny may not win as the public may decide his previous dance training gave him an unfair advantage and vote for a "non dancer" who has made the "journey".

He is pretty enough I grant you that. He's like a robotic Ken doll though. He knows the steps, he performs the steps. He knows when to smile, he smiles. He knows when to put on a serious face, he puts on a serious face. But there's nothing behind the eyes.
He spent a couple of years in 'Wicked' so I should imagine a Craig R-H show or two is lined up from this. I guess him and Louise stand to gain most from appearing in the show so perhaps in the end it's fair enough that they end up the top two. So much for him saying he wouldn't be showing off his body because he wanted the focus to be on his dancing though.
Criticism aside, I would like to see him challenged a lot more in the weeks leading up to the final. As solid as he is as a dancer, everything has all been a bit 'safe' so far. If he's as good as everyone says he is, Oti should really be pushing him a lot further than she is.

Me too. But since Snutte and I agree about everything #Strictly related I feel a bit surplus. I'm just sitting here nodding, yeah, yeah, yeah.;-)

So it's a break and Elle Goulding is singing (yawn).
I liked the opening sports routine. Good to see Gorka back with his fixed teeth. Good to also see Neil being used in a routine.
Judge Rinder in the dance off. Who's next?

Well done Ed! I mean he was never gonna win and kudos for genuinely entertaining and improving and for staying in the competition as long as he did.
Planet Earth II next.

Ridiculous!!! I think the rest should quit out of protest and let Ed win by default. #JeSuisEd
Jokes.
Though I was a HUGE Ed fan throughout this series, I thought that dance was pretty bad - even by his standards - so it was only right for him to go now. But a shame that his last full dance had to be that one!! But what a great contestant. Maybe the best 'worst' contestant ever? Surely some of his dances will go down in Strictly history!
Huge congrats to him, I think more than any other contestant he really, really embodied exactly what Strictly is about. For me, anyhow!
