What a great show!
Okay, yes all I'm back! Never fear!
Danny & Oti were amazing. The way he threw himself into it! Wow!
It must be so lovely for the professional to not only see the routine they've choreographed coming to fruition but to be able just dance at their normal standard, rather than having to hold themselves back for the sake of the celebrities.
Ore & Joanne, also another strong, excellent dance.
I really liked Louise & Kevin tonight. O'm not really a Louise fan and as good as she was in the Argentine Tango a couple of weeks ago (and she really was) I think I preferred this dance. Possibly it was the storytelling.
Judge Rider & Oksana, I think they could be in trouble tonight.
Ed & Katya- well done Ed. He kept the character and there was a lot of content there. I found it particularly amusing the way he walked on and of the dance floor for the group dance off at the end. Mincing like he had a cork up his arse! He too I fear he too may be in trouble.
If Ed does go tomorrow night (I think Im right in saying this) in terms of longevity on Strictly, he would have been the most successful politician.
I also enjoyed Claudia & AJ's Argentine Tango. Very dynamic.

Just back from the Hampstead and catching up
So far...
Jaw-droppingly amazing samba - Danny Mac is just leagues ahead of everyone else. Brilliant.
Really hated the Paso - style over substance. Poor music, bizarre concept. Just not a Paso for me.

Kevin Clifton always puts himself front and centre in the choreography - when he should be showcasing his partner. That Waltz was all about him - not her.
It is time for a Clifton cull. Bring in new people - who aren't related to one another.

And massively over marked. No way was it worth 39.
Poor Rinder - having a Rumba at this stage is always tough for a male dancer like him who is more at home in ballroom.

Oh FFS Balls has to go. Slow, stompy and stupid.

The Argentine Tango - one of my favourite dance styles - and this was a modern take. A bit skippy in places - but full of interest.

Fantastic from Danny and Oti, a great Samba and clearly the best in the Cha Cha despite whatever agenda the judges were working towards.
Ore's paso was very atmospheric but awkward in places and didn't even deserve its single 10.
If another dancer had choreographed that Waltz Len would have given it a kicking for how little was danced in hold, hell he's done it in the past to American Smooths, but Kevin can do no wrong as usual. It was mostly well danced but barely deserving of 9's let alone 10's. She was overrated in the Cha Cha as well.
Terrible Rhumba from the Judge. Hoping to see the back of him soon.
Unfortunately Ed has used up the dances best suited for comedy and his Tango fell flat.
Fantastic from Claudia though a little bit more on the ground would have been nice. If the judges had used that as an excuse to not give her 10's that would have been fine but there was no mention of that so four 9's looked low in the context of some of the other scores. She was also thrown under a bus in the Cha Cha despite being better than Louise.

Bring in new people - who aren't related to one another. Absolutely don't agree! I remember in his very first dance with Susanna he out-danced her. He seemed to learn instantly from that and I think he shows his partners off brilliantly! (Something that Giovanni and AJ (and Kristina) could do to learn.) As for a 'Clifton cull'.......nnooooooooo! I love them! (Although if a cull were completely necessary they could send the one who married into the dynasty off on a long trip and I wouldn't notice!) On another note. I did laugh when they showed Louise's husband in the VT exclaiming "Does he really get THAT close?!"

Danny and Oti both deserve to win and I really hope they do. Danny is a great dancer and puts lots of effort in but I would love to see Oti be rewarded for ALL the AMAZING choreography she does in EVERY dance, she's absolutely incredible!

Unless there's a huge upset I think we can predict the winner will be Danny, runner up will be Louise, third place Ore.

With any of these knock-out reality shows, SCD, XF, RPDR, BGT etc by the time it gets down to the final four I'm pretty much past caring anyway. The process is way more interesting than the outcome which is always a damp squib after weeks and weeks of build up. And with SCD I really wish they would drop the "showdance" because they're always hideous and seem designed to make everyone look really stupid. The ones that take it really serious and try and do some sort of contemporary daaaaance with the woman in flat shoes are the absolute worst.

I tend to like the show dances but some just fall flat. Last year I didn't love any of them though.

Does anyone think Louise has done any standout dances yet, other than her Argentine Tango? Interested.

Does anyone think Louise has done any standout dances yet, other than her Argentine Tango? Interested. Yes I do. That one with the Hollywood vibe was v good. Was it an American smooth? And she is v consistent, timing good, steps accurate. Last night's waltz also had a bit of a story in it. She's ok. Better than the Judge. Has he done an Argentine tango yet? Well then.

Bring in new people - who aren't related to one another. I'm struggling to understand how your dislike of Kevin's choreography turns into a demand for a Clifton cull! First off, it's not a crime to be related to someone else who dances, or someone else who's on the show! Second, just because you clearly dislike Kevin (and I agree entirely on that point, I'm not a Kevin fan either and I hated that choreography last night!) doesn't mean Karen and Joanne should be automatically tarred with the same brush! I like Karen - yes, she can be a bit over the top and manic at times, but she gets a lot out of less able celebs and I thought her partnerships with Dave Myers and Jeremy Vine were brilliant. And I think Joanne's been outstanding this year (week 1 Tango aside), and she's a stunning ballroom dancer who I could watch all day!

Yeah I think her American Smooth is probably her second best. Think her cheesy, OTT grin ruined it for me though. Oh and of course she's better than the Judge, I just question why she's such an obvious finalist when I think Danny, Ore and Claudia have done more standout dances than her and wondered if anyone felt the same. Admittedly, she's probably the most consistent one, but consistently good rather than great for me.

Does anyone think Louise has done any standout dances yet, other than her Argentine Tango? Interested. No, but she's been consistently technically good. For me her problem is performance (and to a fairly large extent Kevin's choreography) - I didn't like her American Smooth at all and thought her Paso in Blackpool lacked any kind of purpose and attack, and the Waltz last night was overmarked and more like an American Smooth than anything else - even to the point of having a little sneaky lift/assisted jump towards the end which the judges conveniently ignored. She's this year's Pamela Stephenson for me - technically pretty good but not engaging in the slightest. I think she'll make the final - her public support seems to be pretty strong given even when she's had more average weeks she's never been near the dance-off. But I'd rather have a Danny, Ore and Claudia final personally.

I didn't like the American Smooth to Big Spender. As I might've said at the time, that song invites wham/bam and a bit of oomph and she didn't have any. I think maybe her problem is that we get all different angles and close ups on her face which the judges don't see and she never looks 100% committed to the dances.

Louise is probably signing on to the arena tour so they'll want her in the top 3.
