So..musicals week next. According to my listings magazine (arriving early as Christmas approaches), the results show will feature E Paige singing Don't cry for me, Argentina...

I was an Ed fan, but this was the right week for him to go. I think he was happy - he had an amazing run. Overall a strong week. Musicals week - yippee! BTW Planet Earth is showing some horrific stuff - animal corpses on cacti.

I hope they put a better dance together for Elaine than they did for Ellie tonight. What was that?!

Think this is the first time this season the bottom two has followed the judges leaderboard? Right bottom two and the right one to leave. Poor Claudia though, leaving them to the end, loved her reaction to getting through. And glad Claudia W brought up Claudia F not getting any 10s although thought Darcey's excuse was a bit of a copout. Hard to have chemistry when you're dancing to Hey Mickey or Black Magic and there was much more chemistry between them last night than there have been in any of Louise and Kevin's dances.
Looking forward to musicals week, hope there's some inspired choices (like last year's Falling Slowly) rather than the usual obvious ones.

I always look forward to musicals week, but it kind of always ends up more "movie musicals" week, but hopefully there'll be a couple of crackers in there. Not all of the Strictly session singers have typical musical theatre voices, but I'd like to see them given some more challenging, less commercially known musical songs a go, it's not like the public aren't gonna tune in anyway! But I understand why they don't, and it's not like it's particularly important! Just a personal feeling!
I might petition for musicals week on X Factor.

Well we're getting a Foxtrot dressed as Willy Wonka. Pure Imagination do we think? Or maybe they'll get Joanne dressed up as an Oompa-Loompah and do something bizarre - I wouldn't put it past them this year. Some of the song choice have been truly abominable!!!

I would watch then, but they usually use 'Musical Theatre' as an insult on there.

Ed's tweeted that he was due to do a rumba next week to Shirley Bassey's This Is My Life.....what musical is that from?!?!?!?
He also included a 25 second 'rehearsal' video, saying it's probably best left to the imagination!

Hallelooooooooo-yaaaaaaaa! Thought they were mean leaving Claudia and AJ until last. Liked the pros' Charleston. Were Kevin and Karen improvising? E Paige next week? Definitely be watching on catch-up and using the FF button. Bleugh. Final thought.......Ellie Goulding needs to shave her legs......

Agree with you talkstageytome. But what I'm trying to understand is WHY anyone would think the BBC would want a soap actor from Channel 4 or whatever to win SCD. Thousands of seats to sell in an arena tour. Funnily enough there have been times in the past when the winner didn't do the tour, never mind the finalists (and a really popular winner at that - Alesha), and that didn't do the tour sales any harm at all. But don't let fact get in the way of a good conspiracy theory...

Criticism aside, I would like to see him challenged a lot more in the weeks leading up to the final. As solid as he is as a dancer, everything has all been a bit 'safe' so far. If he's as good as everyone says he is, Oti should really be pushing him a lot further than she is. He is being pushed - he and Oti are by the looks of it training more than anyone else (they seem to be in a habit of doing about 11 hours a day!), and she's certainly pushing him with technique and loading the routines with choreography.

They had Andrea Bocelli singing that very song on the Musicals week result show last year! Gorgeous dance by Aljaz and Janette to accompany it as well. Do the producers not know any other musical theatre songs?

They treat Claudia like an 8 yr old for weeks in soppy dresses and then they want sultry! V silly Darcy.

But don't let fact get in the way of a good conspiracy theory... C'mon, Alesha won it 9 years ago. Different world. There's a clear connection between the people who are pushed to the final by the producers manipulating outcomes, and the people who go on to headline the tour. It's not a conspiracy theory, it's plain common sense. You're not going to hear people saying "ooh let's go to see the SCD tour and watch all those no-marks who didn't even make the final!" are you? Yes there are some non-finalist cast members on the tour but a huge proportion are series winners and runners up. Fact.

To the best of my knowledge (according to the TV add anyway) out of the 12 celebrities who started off, only Danny, Louise and Daisy are comforted.
Of the judges, it's Len, Craig and that Karen Hardy woman with more celebrities to be announced.

On Twitter someone asked Greg Rutherford if he would be on the tour and he said he didn't know yet. Wonder how they do it?
Also he was asked who he got on with especially and he said he got on with everyone but that Judge Rinder had become a good friend.

Since it's musicals week this week, for those who may be interested in song choices! {Spoiler - click to view} Claudia & AJ - Just Can't Wait To Be King from The Lion King (Salsa)
Louise & Kevin - The Deadwood Stage from Calamity Jane (Quickstep)
Danny & Oti - One Night Only from Dreamgirls (Tango)
Ore & Joanne - Pure Imagination from Charlie & The Chocolate Factory (Foxtrot)
Judge Rinder & Oksana - Oh What A Night! from Jersey Boys (Samba)

Glad there's a song from Dreamgirls in there otherwise none of them stand out for me. Is it the fast or slow One Night Only?
Would like to see them do them from classic musicals rather than something like Jersey Boys where that song is really Frankie Vallie.

So .... confirmed for the tour are Ed Balls, Ore Oduba, Lesley Joseph, Louise Redknapp, Danny Mac, Daisy Lowe.
As Craig Revel Horwood is directing this tour I suspect he had a huge say in who appeared in the arena tour.
It just shows how lucrative being on TV can be - not only the TV gig itself but the opportunities it presents for well paid stage work - Miss Hannigan in Annie, directing the tour of Sister Act, appearing in panto - this year as Captain Hook and of course directing the arena tour of Strictly. ALL on the back of the TV show!
Once dancers get dropped their star quickly fades - James Jordan, Robin Windsor.....
