Cumberbatch at the NT last night, coping with the delay by hanging in the bar till the last possible minute. Hmm, Benny's been at the Nash a lot recently - wonder if he's trying to butter Rufus up for a part?!

Mathew Horne at the Soho Theatre, holding up the action by asking to be moved from the front row.

I’m sitting in the bar of the Watermill, sipping tea before An Afternoon with Stiles and Drewe. Not surprisingly, Stiles and Drewe have just come in and gone out, as has Aled Jones, James Gillan and Caroline Sheen. (The latter is fussing over her mum who didn’t have a reservation in the restaurant so she’s eating in the bar... )
Looking forward to this one.

On my last trip to Chichester and London about 2 weeks ago: Anastasia Hille at Mosquitos, John Light sitting outside the Understudy bar, Matt Lucas and Jemma Redgrave, not on the same day, at The Ferryman, Trevor Eve at The Norman Conquests, Eddie Redmayne at Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. And in the category, famous people getting something to eat: Freddie Fox at Pret in Kentish Town, Sinead Cusack at Ask Italian in Chichester and Lisa Palfrey at McDonald's Shaftsbury Road

Admittedly not in the audience but I did pass Tom Lister in Covent Garden yesterday. He was on the phone, probably running some errands around Drury Lane. He's more handsome in real life than I thought he'd be.

Would also add that Mark Rylance and Ian McEwan were at the matinee of Lear on Saturday.

Saw Charles Dance heading through the stage door at Wyndham's tonight, he had a programme in hand so I assume he'd been to see Heisenberg, didn't see him in the theatre though.

I've been lucky enough to bump into and sit beside a few few 'famous' people. The ones worth mentioning are:
Andrew Scott sat next to me at the matinee of Angels in America: Part 1 and was friendly and chatty to everyone around him. Eddie Redmayne and I think his mother whilst seeing my friend Brodie Ross in Death of a Salesman at the Noël Coward. (Don't like to namedrop but he's a terrific actor!) David Tennant and matt Lucas TOGETHER at en evening performance of Sunshine of Leith in Glasgow!

(He’ll be wearing an anorak next. He should get himself one of those fold-up camping stools if he’s going to make a habit of it.)

That sounds like a good idea for a one off cartoon strip in Viz, The Adventures of Charles Dance cadging autographs off his actor mates to flog on eBay!
I think I saw Harry Shearer of Spinal Tap fame in the audience at Labour of Love tonight.

I had an interesting week last week:
Sir Derek Jacobi at Liza sings Streisand at Cadogan hall, 18 October. I did speak with him briefly and he was utterly charming.
Elaine Paige at the Kristin Chenoweth concert at the Palladium on 20 October.
Then John Sessions at the Noel Coward to see Labour of Love on 21 October.

Neil Tennant sat next door but one to me at Follies tonight. Oh pur- lease (to quote Neil Tennant himself apparently) tell me he didn’t try and singalong to Losing My Mind... I hope you told him afterwards, “ That’s how it should have sounded!”

I hope you told him afterwards, “ That’s how it should have sounded!” I have to confess that I loved the version Pet Shop Boys did with Liza Minnelli. In fact I thought the whole album - 'Results' - was great!

Mark Gatiss and his husband at Labour of love (24/10/2017)
He was disappointed ( or angry) that no one absolutely paid attention to him when he was around Stage Door after show

OMG. Tamsin Greig and Martin Freeman were sitting in the row in front of me at Ink yesterday afternoon. I would have thought watching a James Graham play on their afternoon off was too much of a busman's holiday.
They nearly made it into the bad behaviour thread, as they arrived right at the last moment. I like to think they appeared, in a puff of smoke, through one of the mysterious doors with the "Authorised Talent Only" signs!
