I have literally stayed up all night to hear about the 'imminent Hedwig news' (technically this is a lie as I stayed up all night to drink cider in sh*tty Lowestoft).
Baz, if you're reading this, can't u give us a sign of u ain't updating? A picture of a broken child on a unicorn will suffice

Maybe he has a deal with the paper NOT to update his Twitter thread in the belief that some of you would normally buy the paper but not if BB is away?!

He's probably on holiday... With the rest of theatre!!! News basically dries up in August, what news has there been on What's on Stage this week apart from Edinburgh reviews? Then in September you here the shows starting to be confirmed, which is strange as 2 theatres are imminently going to become dark!

I seem to recall him having holidays like this before Theatre news/gossip has been so limited recently

Damnit Baz it's only almost Friday when you update us!
August feels like a long month in theatre world...

Damnit Baz it's only almost Friday when you update us! August feels like a long month in theatre world... I hate August what with that Scottish festival sucking on the worlds culture!

In theory, I like August, because it's good to have a little break from the never-ending torrent of must-see shows and frequent theatre trips. Then August rolls around and I get SO BORED because there's nothing new to see and there's not even any news being announced because everyone's so caught up in reviewing shows 400 miles away that will probably never come anywhere near me. I don't really enjoy this feeling of what it must be like to be a non-London theatre fan the entire year round, I don't know how people do it. Roll on September!

Loads of Edinburgh Fringe shows already have tours and transfers programmed for the autumn and beyond, so the Edinburgh commentary is always interesting.
Stratford-on-Avon is busy this month, with four plays across the month in The Other Place, as well as the usual two year-round theatres of course.
Many towns and castles have annual outdoor shows - professional, community and amateur - and street theatre is more prominent at this time of year. The NT has five River Stage weekends.

I hope he'll be back next Friday. He sometimes does just have the odd week off and August is really bad for breaking news.
Hopefully September will bring some casting and transfers!

His last tweet was an hour ago, so it's not like he's gone AWOL.

Outrageous really, not even an understudy, alternate, stand-by, 2nd cover or 4th cover midwife!

Baz knows how to pad out his column on a slow news day.
And there was no press releases on Friday, because Baz was on holiday.

I presume he'll be back tonight as he usually only misses 1 week. I doubt they'll be HUGE news though

I am kind of expecting an announcement regarding In the Heights along the lines of closing, booking extension or new casting. I am praying for the latter two as I don't want this to leave London anytime soon.

Yeah he is loving the Olympics too much, he normally takes a long pause now.
Think he could of broke the news of Midnight Tango, but guess he just yawned, turned over and fell back to sleep.

I wish he would take his exclusives and gossip to a more sane newspaper but I guess facisists need their theatre fill too.
