I wish he would take his exclusives and gossip to a more sane newspaper but I guess facisists need their theatre fill too. Funnily enough i have wondered for ages why a broadsheet doesnt poach Baz!!

There is normally NOTHING to report in August anyway. This year is no different.

When Baz said he'll return first week of September, will that be next week or the week after?

I think neither his style or content is suitable, even if there was a vacancy. He does a LOT of celebrity name-dropping and isn't that critical - the most negative thing he seems to say is that shows in preview need more work or are being tightened up, etc. I do like his column for advance news of theatre openings but there's a lot of chaff to his wheat.

No Baz gossip makes Friday mornings very dull.
There's a lot coming up this Autumn though; including at least 3 Broadway transfers to get excited about!

Ask yourself, when did you last see a press release on a Friday, that hasn't been run in Baz's column?

So am I - it makes me realise how good Baz is with his gossip!! Yeah there's loads this Autumn I think - we've got The Girls casting to look forward to in September as well as Cinderella casting! That's first about Broadway transfers!

Baz's gossip is very carefully engineered by PR offices across London!

I don't entirely care what Baz's sources are, I'm just happy that we can usually be guaranteed interesting and reliable news like clockwork late every Thursday night.

I don't know how much theatre news will be revealed over the next couple of weeks though, I had forgotten the Telluride Film Festival is this weekend, and Baz always fills his column with more movie news than theatre when he's at a film fest.

Giving that quite a lot of theatres are booked up for the next few months I doubt there will be any big news. Aside from some interesting fringe news, I could only think we may get rumour of a closure, some casting, or what might be next for the Vaudeville. But most likely to be mostly film news this week.

Yeah true, he does like to fill his column with film news when he's at a film festival. I think the news we will get in September must be the final Cinderella casting?! We also get The Girls casting by Baz on the 16th September, that was confirmed by the show's offical Twitter page

I just hope we get something exciting. I personally wouldn't find the Cinderella casting that exciting because if there was a big star, it would of been announced to drive ticket sales. So am at least hoping for an up and coming musical theatre star rather than "star casting".
School of Rock casting would be nice!

It's hardly breaking news any more, is it? We've had hold of it for at least 24 hours now, Baz usually prints new news.

Mind you, he has been posting lots of film news today so maybe he's doing that now instead of tonight?

Mind you, he has been posting lots of film news today so maybe he's doing that now instead of tonight? Think that's just because the programme of the London Film Festival got announced today.
