I suddenly can't stop listening to sister act, on a week of painting the house and day 1 listened to it twice.... send help!
It has helped the day along though need to find some more upbeat ones to paint along to.

I have the CD but it lives under my bed with all my others ...
The YouTube link is handy but it misses the final two tracks - boo hiss

Frank Loesser's 'The Most Happy Fella'. There's some lovely stuff here - 'Standing On The Corner', 'Joey, Joey, Joey', 'Ooh, My Feet'. Elegant, witty, as you'd expect. The LP has most of the show's dialogue on it, so it feels pretty vivid.

The orchestra was glorious indeed, but I'm not sure about Annaleigh Ashford. She makes some odd choices. Her voice is very light sounding.

I'm not mad on Sondheim but love ALNM and loved the NT production. Better still was seeing someone I'd been to youth theatre with in the cast. This is clever, melodic, soaring and just gorgeous. On my train this morning I dug out American Psycho- I'd forgotten how much I loved that recording (Duncan Sheik does write a good musical to be fair) and I'd forgotten that Lucie Jones was in it.
I have also given the Dear Evan Hansen recording another bash this week- there's a couple of decent songs on it but it's a bit hit and miss for me (and the story still annoys me which I can't entirely get past)
