Transferring to LA after Broadway run. Very limited I hear with the four leads. Possibly being filmed. Pantages is the theatre I hearing. That would be incredibly exciting - seeing this production going back to LA after it had its American Premiere here -would be really amazing Its funny reading people angsting that its not completely sold out already in NY - considering the St James is 600 seats more per night and I'm trying to remember in London was this 7 or 8 performances per week?

Btw it cost $15million more to mount this on Broadway. 🙃 Well, we know it's definitely not gone into the set...

My A.D.D. got the best of me - so far as I can tell - close to 60% seats sold for SB in the first week of previews less than 2 weeks out which compared to other Broadway shows is far better sold (was comparing to Lion King, which is the current top grosser) just to give people some perspective on things. Just reiterates the point that people are rarely buying tickets in advance for things, until/unless the hype matches peoples experience. If SB takes off here like it did in London, no reason not to see it becoming a hot ticket/sell out

If you look at Sunset in November or December, there are swathes of tickets that they seem not to have released for any performance in the first place. Hard to tell how much has actually sold. BUT, also very true that advance buying is way way down now.

I’m waiting for front row for february but i know by the time those are released, prices may be even higher… in my case, since i’m travelling and the whole thing is gonna be hella expensive (what are those nyc prices, jesus), i dont see a point of saving on the ticket since this is the goal of my trip. but damn, i miss the london prices now hahaha. can jamie lloyd co. give a couple of tickets for a broke fansite? cries in brazilian exchange

This show was one of the rare occasions where I preferred being in the dress circle to the front row as it gave a much better sense of the screenwork as well as the action on stage. So I've made my peace with not being front row... and seeing those prices makes me feel even more confident in my decision! For all the promo you give Nicole and the show, a comped ticket should be the least they offer!

I don't think I've ever paid those prices for any show before, but if I'm going to pay it, I want them to be seats of my choosing (ie, front row, or at least non-premium-package front centre stalls). I want to book soon though to absorb the cost in advance, so by the time the trip comes, I don't think about it. As you said, there are so many other costs involved when you actually get to NYC.

I agree with folks on here's take on ticket prices. I bought tickets for less than a month from now (!!!) when the pre-sale opened and ended up paying close to $400 a ticket when all is said and done with the processing fees, email delivery fees or whatever other nonsense they tack on by the time you get to enter your credit card. But I'm going on 1 - being a huge Sunset fan 2- hearing all the raves from folks on here who I trust 3 - the few boot/clips I saw and heard were amazing and 4 - I wanted to pick preemo seats and got dead center orchestra, row C - which I don't think I've ever had for a show before - even for Sunset whether in the original production in 1994 or the revival in 2017 I couldn't get those or the prices were similarly outrageous. I decided for my first visit I wanted to get the full impact for myself and my Mom for her 82nd birthday.

I presume from a dress rehearsal, a video from outside the theatre during the titular number. Tom seems to come back with half the cast following him in this version. vm.tiktok.com/ZGeEnxqbq/So he comes out of the St James, walks past the Broadhurst, does something around the Shubert then returns with his gang, if I've got the geography right.

that looks cool. i did wonder what changes they were going to make.
but lets see how it works on the theater - cause for me, part of it being so amazing its because it was his moment.

Awww the poor old lady with the walking stick towards the end of the video who was bowled out of the way didn't know what had hit her

Wow I'm so glad they're still doing it and totally gunning it down the street in front of all the other theatres haha
Definitely with everyone behind him it nails down the "hell" that they're all trying to live in.

Also, another thing that's interesting is that it seems to be fully wireless now. I thought while in London they used a wired and wireless system that connected and disconnected.

The last performance I saw in London, the video glitched a few times and went blackout right after the corner of the Savoy and never came back until he entered the theatre again. It was such a disappointment — but that’s the price for doing something so risky, right?
