I saw it in London 3 times and each time the link was perfect. I was at the first preview so no one knew what was happening and as he entered the theatre there were audible gasps from the audience, myself included, as we couldn't believe what we had just witnessed and huge applause. Mind you I think most of us thought the outside scenes were pre recorded as couldn't believe it could be live. How wrong we were.

Super excited for this now. I have a quick trip to NYC at the end of October and have booked this three times. I really hope the Broadway ensemble are as good as the West End. There was no single weak link at The Savoy. Hope it lives up to the same standard.

Also, another thing that's interesting is that it seems to be fully wireless now. I thought while in London they used a wired and wireless system that connected and disconnected. Pretty sure the whole thing was wireless in the west end. They did move around receivers for the act 2 opener as he made his way around and out the theatre but the camera and mic remains wireless.

So as I suspected, a little more than a day out for the First preview and they are down to less than a 100 seats available. By tomorrow night they'll be sold out - which in a huge theatre like the St.James is great news. Seeing other performances are selling well (including the matinee I'm going to on the 12th much more sold than a few weeks ago) once people actually start going and word of mouth really takes off, I believe they're going to have a great run

So do I take it that its not selling as well as it did in London?

So do I take it that its not selling as well as it did in London? No not at all. There's been speculation on the forums about how well it's been selling. Unlike in the West End, we'll be getting weekly box office figures once it begins performances, but for now the discussions have been about sell-outs. We've pointed out that in West End, nights didn't start selling out in advance till it had officially opened and word of mouth really started spreading, and even then the Savoy has about 600 fewer seats than the St James

My plan is to get there early for day seats on a 2 show day and plan nothing else! Please keep us abreast of the day seat situation chernjam as this takes off. x

Well from the reactions I'm reading online tonight, the first preview exceeded already sky high expectations... 14 days and counting

I see from the footage of the final bows that Nicole and Tom have kept the serious faces throughout. I'm really interested to hear if the orchestra sounded as good as it did in London.

For those interested, the outdoor footage from the first preview x.com/ItsRainingBen/status/1840208849636045080It seems like a harder security task in NYC, in London he 'hugged' the building, here he has to wander through quite open spaces where it's harder to manoeuvre people around. I'm not condoning bootlegs but given I'll never see this on Broadway I'm intensely curious to see the whole act 2 opening sequence video. Also I kind of love but mainly hate this bag they were giving out...

Was that bag a freebie lol?!
I also love/hate it! People can promote their MT fave understudies/alternates as much as they like but, so far at least, this IS Nicole’s show. So I kinda agree with the sentiment.
And it’s funny as humility is so important to me but Scherzy has this 99% confidence 1% humility outlook on this with all her “I was born to play this role/this Broadway stage was my destiny” stuff. But I agree. So I can’t take issue. (And she is very gracious on creatives and co-stars).
A real old school megastar. I want one of those bags!

I don't know the location but it looked like he came out and went back in the same exit which isn't as interesting as London (but, of course, I've not seen the whole sequence). Also fancy people moaning about a free bag, anyone who doesn't like theirs you can send it over to me 😀

Based on the reddit megathread, he does his dressing room wander, walks down into the lobby and out, does a tour round Shubert alley (the cast join him there it seems) then comes in through a fire exit into the orchestra stalls and onto the stage. Sounds decent enough!

Sounds decent enough! Well you apparently! You said you hated it. (But also loved it so what do I know). Yes the walk does sound decent enough and as I mentioned in my post I only saw that little clip on Twitter so was curious as to the whole walk as the clip looked like he came out and went back in the same entrance.

Ah right, I don't have the bag, I wasn't there. I wouldn't be moaning about a free bag either, but it's just delightfully cringy.

Anybody else think it’s a tad unprofessional that Nicole does signings at stage door on Broadway in her costume and covered In blood!

I think it’s the campest, most old-school Hollywood thing I ever heard! (And she knows it!!!).

Yes exactly that… I highly doubt she’d have done it had there not been cameras filming promo for the show’s opening. In London she only did stage door a few times, so would imagine it’ll be the same approach on Broadway.

Doubt she’ll even do stage door once the run gets going. She and her voice must be protected from the public’s germs!

Who in their right mind would willingly choose to mingle with the public, especially the sort that hang around stage doors?
