I'm still not hearing any whispers on who the Norma alt is so I'm guessing they might just use Rachel. Last I heard, 4 actresses had turned the role down. Who turned it down?

Does anyone know if the allocation of tickets on SeatGeek is all they are selling at the moment? I'm looking to buy tickets for next March in front centre stalls, but so far they only have package and accessible seats available, with the surrounding seats greyed out (and have never been on sale). I'm curious to know if anyone has tried calling or gone to the theatre in person and been offered a fuller allocation (for example, even the mezzanine centre row A is unavailable online). I also assume no front row stalls seats have been sold yet, so I wonder if they'll do a similar 'key worker' offer on Broadway? This is also driving me bonkers! There are huge swathes of seats that have never been available on SeetGeek - particularly much of central Stalls and either side of the two middle aisles. I'd love to know if they are on sale via a different source (if they are it's impossible to find!) or if they are being held back for unknown reasons. I have always found Broadway choice of seats very opaque however. Compared to most ticketing groups in UK where you can see everything that's on sale. Sorry I don't know the answer. Hopefully someone does! Me too! I'm going to NYC in October specifically for Sunset. I've already been able to book front row (right) and have one more free day available to book shows. Nothing else is appealing to me right now so I want to book Sunset again but don't want to pay for the VIP package. I've looked on broadway.com but there are even fewer seats available to book there. Not sure what's going on but if anyone figures it out I'd love to know.

So are we still not aware of Nicoles alternate show? I’m definitely not pre-booking without knowing first.

Perhaps some of our NYC members on here can tell us if SeetGeek usually split their allocation with another agent and if so, which agent that is! (Or if they are known to hold lots of seats off sale).

Whatever is not being held back from public purchase, such as house seats or VIPs, is available on SeatGeek.

Whatever is not being held back from public purchase, such as house seats or VIPs, is available on SeatGeek. So for pretty much all shows, the 4 seats either side of both central aisles in rows E to M of Stalls have never been available! Surely they can't all be house seats? That's 128 seats. There are also other pockets that have never been on sale on SeatGeek!

It’s not cheap so I don’t want to make do with a seat only to find better, non-VIP ones released closer to the time.

The fact these seats not on sale have premium on one side of them and non premium (though on Broadway still extortionate) on the other, makes me think they are holding back to decide what they can get away with pricing them!

That’s my fear - that they re-evaluate pricing after it opens. 😬 I’ll probably bite the bullet before then, but still going to try phoning this week.

I wonder if it’s not the same every week, or that there are weeks when shes off more than once, which is why it doesn’t just blanket say Tuesday? I’ll definitely be there in October; too good an opportunity to miss.

I had a quick glance just there and the first “casting alert” that I could see, to say Nicole is not performing, is Tuesday 29th October.

With Broadway economics, plus the timing for Tony Awards, I think it's highly likely they are planning for at least a 9-12 month* run. I could imagine Nicole will stay with the until approx. July, maybe longer if she wins the Tony and her voice holds out. Otherwise, I can imagine they would be looking for a replacement after Nicole. * This does not mean the show will be open for bookings for the entire length of the run. It's typical in NYC that shows have shorter booking windows open at any one time than shows in London, for example. I mean re the voice this is a fascinating point. Out of all the divas through the years I have seen, I have honestly never heard anyone sing like that. When I saw the first show and then saw the pics on SM of her doing stage door I was like literally, she's gonna get ill singing like that then inhaling the public's germs - protect her at all costs. (Interestingly I think she more or less stopped hugging the public very soon after). Anyway, London was 4 months and she powered through like a super human trooper. Missed like, one show? And for me her voice remained 100% throughout. Was mesmerising. But I do wonder - can anyone sing like that for months on end? Hopefully yes! Without being rude - these comments above simple are not true. I’ve been in two Lloyd Webber shows with screaming scores and the cast had to do the show eight times a week without mentioning rehearsals. We breathed in germs, touched rails, lived our daily lives - we weren’t super humans - Our voices are instruments and they get used to singing high notes and belting (which is easier to do than people think) hours every day. Nicole is talented and skilled but there are thousands like her in the profession every week in dozens of shows. Some cast members perform in those shows for many years.

Re: the seats not available, I wonder how many are allotted for different concierge services throughout the city. I know certain hotels (Marriot Marquis, for example) used to have seats available for their guests, even to the sold out events. Not sure how much of that has changed post-pandemic

She has never struck me as either precious or genuinely ‘luvvie’, and has always been a technically great vocalist, whatever she was singing. The mega success of JL’s ‘Sunset’ has brought her back to the forefront of public consciousness which she can hopefully build on.

She might be the standby, but I highly doubt she´s the alternate.

She might be the standby, but I highly doubt she´s the alternate. Agreed - I am pretty sure the alternate is going to be Rachel.

And the Norma alt is....... CAROLINE BOWMAN... Also Heather Headley was asked if she would be interested in replacing after Nicole but its still unknown if the production will extend it's run. Unless she’s been bumped from standby this isn’t the case. A more well known performer is standby.

nothing particularly attention-grabbing until the 'I've come home at last' verse- sounds fantastic! and will sound stunning in that moment of the show- but sadly don't think I'll manage to catch her alt day. also, was the pianist on a different wavelength? 😂
