When this was originally announced back in January, the rumour was Nicole was contracted for a six-month Broadway run. So yeah, it will be interesting to see what they do if it’s a huge hit there.
I’m also interested in seeing the prices as I’m hoping to catch this early next year. 🫣

When the original Broadway run was announced with Nicole for 6 months, I had assumed a late Fall start (thinking November-ish) to get her past the Tony nominations deadline and try to eek her into a few more months.
Now with this announcement, I'd assume a marketing gimmick where "6 months only" will magically extend (kind of like when Glen came in 2017 with the revival and by opening night the 10 weeks were extended thru the end of June) Just economics wise, they probably need Nicole and for it to be selling out for 9 months to recoup on Broadway.
I'm curious if Rachel will be coming along too. I remember reading speculation that she might and then take on the role full time in Summer 2025 (which we're getting way ahead of ourselves here)
Very exciting though. And as much as it's been infuriating waiting for news of the recording, (mostly because I was anxious that ALW would follow with his recent trend of not re-recording anything) I do like that they're using that to help build momentum. I'm definitely down for buying tickets next week (which will be like I did for the Original Broadwy production - mail ordering in March for November 1994)

Our first follow up - courtesy of NY Times:
"Scherzinger, who said she has committed to nine months in the role, will be joined on Broadway by her three Olivier-nominated co-stars, Tom Francis, Grace Hodgett-Young and David Thaxton." That would bring her run to June (in time for the Tonys and possible room for extension thru summer)

Considering Nicole will be in the role until mid 2025, will they release tickets for the entire run? Does anyone have a good guess of how this works?
I plan to buy tickets for February on Tuesday, but not sure if they will be available already

With Broadway economics, plus the timing for Tony Awards, I think it's highly likely they are planning for at least a 9-12 month* run. I could imagine Nicole will stay with the until approx. July, maybe longer if she wins the Tony and her voice holds out. Otherwise, I can imagine they would be looking for a replacement after Nicole. * This does not mean the show will be open for bookings for the entire length of the run. It's typical in NYC that shows have shorter booking windows open at any one time than shows in London, for example. I mean re the voice this is a fascinating point. Out of all the divas through the years I have seen, I have honestly never heard anyone sing like that. When I saw the first show and then saw the pics on SM of her doing stage door I was like literally, she's gonna get ill singing like that then inhaling the public's germs - protect her at all costs. (Interestingly I think she more or less stopped hugging the public very soon after). Anyway, London was 4 months and she powered through like a super human trooper. Missed like, one show? And for me her voice remained 100% throughout. Was mesmerising. But I do wonder - can anyone sing like that for months on end? Hopefully yes!

I noticed Tammy Faye, which is opening around the same time, is currently booking until the end of March. So it’s possible. I’ll be ready to book on Tuesday, but we may have to wait a bit.

Lets hope for the best for both of us then! My fear is that if they announce it later, ticket prices may be higher due to demand. And besides the ticket, I want to grab that vinyl (and I’m sure that the shipping to Brazil wont be cheap)

Well this is going well… they’ve sent out an email with a presale code in, but with no link to click. And there’s nowhere to enter the code on www.sunsetblvdbroadway.com 🤦🏼♂️ Already a dozen replies on their tweet asking for the link…

This is an absolute shambles - can't get anywhere near a seat plan to book! Seatgeek says the code isn't valid. No official link sent!

also surely we won't be forced to use seatgeek to preorder the cast recording?

Priceless - now had a further email with a link and reconfirming the presale code. But when I click through, the website immediately tells me that’s not a valid code.
Who is organising this?! Even ATG didn’t mess up the London on sale this badly!

have never used seatgeek before and the website just feels so bad to use
1. code worked on the dot but seating plan shows no tickets available 2. refreshed a couple minutes later and joined the waiting room (still no queue/loading graphic) 3. used new link from email which appeared to have a unique URL, tried 2 dates, one of which redirected me to scenario 1.; the other to 2.
all this and I only wanted to check availability and pricing bands 🤣 absolute fail
*never thought I'd feel thankful for ATG's interface until today!

Looks like their site isn't even working properly for this. Whilst popular surely it isn't that popular to make their system crash !

I got through to seat pricing - it was 79 USD at the cheaper end to 380 USD for seats in the front / centre. It would just throw errors when I tried to checkout and now I am back in the 'waiting room'. Their website is utter rubbish

I got as far as finding a performance I wanted in March. Got to the seating plan where only a selection of seats were on sale. Second row of centre stalls showing at $349, but tickets further along the same row for $75 (not sure if this was an error, as seats further to the side were $179).
But before I could put anything in the basket, I was kicked out and put back in the waiting room.
