What? Nicole has done workshops of the show.. is doing Chicago and Broadway. Or was your comment aimed at someone else? I'm agreeing with you and disagreeing with the person who thought she wasn't going to do the out of town tryout and therefore would be able to bring Sunset to New York. (A show that hasn't even begun previews, so nobody knows if she'll give a praiseworthy performance or not. ) Oh sorry !

I hope Webber adds that to all his shows now, starting with the upcoming “Starlight Express” revival.

It could mean very little. This intimacy director has these previous credits: "As Intimacy Coordinator: For the National: The Effect and Phaedra. In London's West End: TINA: The Tina Turner Musical". I didn't see any of those, so can't say if there was much explicit sex depicted in them.
Sunset's end of Act 1 is usually as intimate as it gets, but I wouldn't mind if the tango turns into something a bit more dangerous. New ways to.... tickle with a feather fascinator.

Just looked at ATG and am amazed at how badly sold it is. The first week is busy, but after that- a hell of a lot of tickets left. Maybe NS isn’t the draw that they were expecting. This will need rave reviews judging by these sales.

After that football incident it wouldn't surprise me if any production involving as much as a kiss on the lips brings in an intimacy guru.

Pick any date and compare to most other musicals and its advance sales are fine. Considerably better than Aspects of Love. Only the very few tourist trap juggernauts come close to selling out in advance since the coronavirus.

I’m going to have to go cold turkey on this thread from Thurs I think as I’m not there until next Thurs… dying to know everything about it but think I’d rather not know anything until I’m in my seat!

Most shows thankfully employ an intimacy director these days. The scum sells papers by constantly talking about sex and general low life scumbag activities

The more I read about the show the less excited I am to see it. Have my ticket already though, so I'll go anyway not expecting much. Maybe they'll prove me wrong.

In fairness you'd expect at LEAST previews for a show like this, with a star as famous as Nicole to have sold very well and it hasn't, so Mr Barnaby is right...

I think another factor is the fact that its barely been off over the last ten years in one form or another. So they may think that they are radically reinventing it for a new generation, but until it has been reviewed I think a lot of folks are hanging fire.

Just had an email from TodayTix promoting £30 lottery tickets.
Details state the Lottery will open up for entries every week, Monday 12:00am and close on Wednesdays at 1:00pm. Winners will then be notified Wednesday afternoon for the following week's performances.

Annoying it's a lottery rather than rush... yeah especially since it's not selling so well to justify it

ALW just said on Radio 2 that it's very black and white, with a focus on the psychological drama as opposed to spectacle.

Just like some people have said throughout this thread and were dismissed as being “negative” (pun intended) then.
Jamie Lloyd has to be the most predictable top theatre director around.

Ugh I literally said weeks ago there is no set. To play devils advocate though- I don’t remember anyone complaining that there wasn’t a huge elaborate set for Come from Away…. Or Once… or Hamilton even. It doesn’t mean the show will be great if it has tons of scenery.

I remember saying a few pages ago that I bet it would be in black and white but said it more as a joke. Anyway Thursday is certainly going to be interesting.
