People coming to New York for the holiday season could give 2 peppermint sticks about who she likes or does not. I mean yeah. The theatre "community" ripping itself to shreds over this is, as ever, our echo chamber. The bulk of the ticket buying public/tourists will neither know nor care! |

Apparently one shipment got damaged in transit, so they’re getting the intern…sorry Lord Lloyd Webber to sign some more and it’ll be with me soon. They were going to contact me today by some ginormous coincidence. Very disappointing.

On a similar topic - anyone else's "exclusive" poster arrive bashed and with a crease in the middle having been folded in half and put in a vinyl sized box with a CD sized CD rattling around in it?!

I didn’t order with the poster but can’t say I’m surprised. The way my vinyl was packaged could barely be called packaged.

Likewise, my CD was very poorly packaged when it arrived. Always frustrates when things don’t arrive in perfect condition.

Now that the recording is out and we've gushed about the quality of the sound and all, and knowing RUG track record as of late in new recordings - I'm immensely happy with the new Sunset Blvd. recording.
BUT - honestly, the "deluxe" edition here in the US - I have zero idea what made this deluxe. The insert really is somewhat forgettable... I mean I realize it was only a couple dollars more than the "standard" edition but I would've happily paid more for nicer packaging, full updated/revised libretto - etc. Bizarre since they made such a big deal about the vinyl editions which has to be a much smaller market I would imagine?
Call me crazy for these old ways to dream.

I'm guessing there might be rights worries publishing the full libretto since it's the full show and not a segmented cast recording of only a few songs.
Also, now the lyrics show up on Apple Music so it's a matter of printing costs I guess
