Ellen in Miss Saigon, right at the top of my list.

All shows cancelled at the Kings Theatre and Theatre Royal in Glasgow up until the 26th April.
They are ATG venues so I can only assume that will be the same for all of them.
I work for them and got an email this morning although they haven’t publicly posted on social media about it yet.

Miss Saigon, I only ever saw it for the first time during its run at the Prince Edward a few years ago and I also saw the Tour in Edinburgh in 2018.
I love it so much and would be there quite often.

I'm pretty clued up on the swing/standby/alternate lingo but what exactly is a 'walking cover' ? The new Hairspray cast got announced today and there's 1 male and 1 female 'walking cover' who I predict by looking at them are for Tracy and the male for both of Tracy's parents. Is it just another word for standby ?

I’m almost certain Jason Winter is either in this or choreographing it or both, he’s dropped many hints on his social media.

I agree the book would work better as a limited series, assuming it isn't the musical version. If it's the musical then I'd rather see it in the cinema.

Yesterday at the King's Head we were informed the bar is seperate to the theatre and that we could buy merch to help fund the theatre. I just assumed it was connected with the bar funding the productions. I thought most theatres are similar (bars, restaurants, sweeties etc) but maybe that isn't the case. Is this unique to Pub Theatres? I work for an ATG theatre and all money made on the bars and through merch goes direct to ATG (the owners). I doubt it's unique but it's rare. There is the occasional show that have their own merch sellers and they keep the money from it but that isn't the norm.

That’s a damn good trailer even though it’s extremely short, this is one I’ll be seeing for sure

There’s a few cast I’m quite happy to see. Lara Denning has been great in everything I’ve seen her in such as Adrian Mole and I managed to see her when she was on as Miss Honey in Matilda.
John Paul Mccue might not mean much to most of you but if you know your British drag queens, his alter ego is Mary Mac who’s quite known on the scene.
Talia Palathamanan was a child in Matilda the same time that Lara Denning was in the cast so it will be full circle for them now to work together again as adult actors but for her to still be playing Lara’s pupil in a school.

These are all of my personal favourite shows but in terms of objective success, it has to be Hamilton for financial reasons, and how much it has affected mainstream culture.
Matilda Come From Away Hamilton Dear Evan Hansen Fun Home Kinky Boots

I agree with the choice of the final lip-sync song, I wanted something more camp/cheesy/pop/fierce (insert drag/gay adjective here).
I thought The Vivienne was the best queen over the course of the series, even with her blip in the girl group episode, which I don't think she was even particularly bad in.
Divina was the better queen in the final episode though, with her dress in my opinion, and the lip-sync. I was happy with either of them winning in hindsight although at the moment in the final, I expected Divina to win.

This is silly, but...I'm generally accustomed to hearing about the "2019 season", "2020 season" etc for theatre here in Australia, although it's not completely consistent. Why do many places and companies use "2018-2019", "2019-2020" and so forth? Is it a Northern Hemisphere thing? A weather thing? The financial year? Awards season? Tradition? Its probably a northern hemisphere thing, primarily based on the weather/seasons. Less people go to the theatre during the summer as they would rather be outside making the most of our very little heat/sun (in the uk specifically). Since our summer is roughly June-August, they promote the shows from '2019/2020' which is approximately September to May. It's the same as the football season here and many other sports. Since the summer overlaps the years in Australia, the 'season' is usually within 1 calendar year.

At the end of the day (excuse the pun), the show is advertised as they can't guarantee anyone will be performing. I doubt you'll get the response you hope.
Yes, it's frustrating. Alfie wasn't on when I booked one of his scheduled performances, but everyone else in that cast, including John, more than makes up for it.

I saw someone say that Mary Poppins will be performing but I don't have a source to back it up, although I'm watching it an hour behind so they may have already been on.

There appears to be some premium and 2nd row stalls availability all of a sudden. Thanks for this, have just purchased a 2nd row seat for November.
