I like the bigger sign. Firstly as there is no way not to notice the show, but also as it takes away the fullness of the glass facade.

If it's a special performance, am I correct to presume no dayseats?

If I remember right didn't they say casting was due to be announced today/tommorow Yes! Do you think it could be midnight from Baz, or instead mid-morning?

Won't lie, I was hoping this would be Alice Fearn's chance to get the leading role she deserves. Not surprised to see Wilemijn back though.

I booked for January, and I agree the tickets are priced too highly. I booked for seeing the show as it interests me, but I really justified the price through going to see Scarlett. The fact that the prices are going to rise though is ridiculous. When Sheridan was at the Menier were the prices similar/higher?

Heather Headley wouls be rather fabulous! Yes, I was just thinking the same! Whoever it is though, I would rather it was an actress with legitimate 'meat to the bones' credits, not a pop star who'll do the standard good but not great.

Will this production replace the Dominion theatre production which has toured the UK for what appears to be decades ? It is a new production, but that Dominion production is back on tour next year.

Judging by this tweet, it could appear, unless I'm reading too much into it, that the Aladdin cast aren't openly allowed to publish dates either.

Something I've been hearing of and seeing more of is people going to the stagedoor when they've not even been to see the actual show. I saw this in a video on youtube from the Harry Potter stagedoor and Noma did brush it off with a joke, but I think you could tell that she thought it was a bit strange I suppose, and that for some very commercial shows people go to the stagedoor to get the photo so that they can be seen being seen with the most popular actors of the present.

I wish Nimax let you choose your own seats, purely just to see how busy this was on a day-to-day basis.

Half A Sixpence related, but does anyone know what is happening regarding FOH jobs for this production. The thing is, this would be the perfect job for me as a student re: performance times. But, there is nothing on the website under recruitment, and I know that DMT have put their employees in other theatres.

I imagine one of the reasons why the stalls is not on sale is so that each cast member can invite a handful of family and friends, I think each cast member was allowed to bring a handful of people to the Harry Potter opening. In that way that could be a good chunk of the stalls taken, then combined with previous invited cast, some of the 'big bosses' and invited celebrity guests I doubt there would be any space for cameras.

I've only ever wanted to leave a performance once, and that was for 'The Trial' at the Young Vic. I can't praise the cast enough, they were brilliant, but I just couldn't enjoy the direction, sound or lighting designs; it was all too aggressive for me. The only reason I didn't leave early was as it was a no interval play, had there been I definitely would have left.

I hope he doesn't take both matinees off. One of the gripes I have with some performers is that they openly consider the evening performance to be more important than the matinee, and thus miss the matinee or put less effort into it. Yes, the alternate can be great, but if a cast/performer puts less effort into a performance, shouldn't that performance be priced accordingly? If the cast/cast member isn't giving a full performance why should the audience pay full price? It's more rare now, I think, for a lead to miss both matinees, so I doubt it will be an issue for School of Rock.

The Gary fan club will be going for him alone, although they will claim they love the show and will return numerous times etc. etc. They will also be descending on the stage door, whether going to the show or not. I am friends with many Take That fans and scenes at the Lowry stage door were often crazy! They'll be descending on stage door waiting for Gary. I expect nightly tweets asking if Gary is there. I hope this does not take away the sense of accomplishment for the cast, feeling that they are just in the shadows.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned on this thread (though I can't find it) - is there any concrete evidence that this actually is coming over early next year? It's just gossip isn't it? Find it highly unlikely that this and The Girls would open within months of each other, even though they are produced by different people! Hope I'm proved wrong! The website uses the world 'will' and the Twitter account says it's coming, so I'd take that as confirmation.

Siobhan Dillon would make a good Slyia in my opinion, as could Gina Beck.

I have tickets for both parts on a Sunday in April. I bought them in June when that additional group went on sale, and our seats are in row TT, next to the sound desk. It seems these seats were added for the June sale of tickets. I'm really hoping to get better seats although I am thankful we have any at all. We arrive in London the day before on Saturday. If I want to try my luck at the box office with returning these and getting better seats, should I go by the box office on Saturday? Are there two lines - one for people actually returning tickets and another for people waiting to get tickets? Thanks for your help. I also plan to try the Friday Forty lottery while still here in the US. From what I understand the only way to return tickets is to use the contact information on the play's website - an email link for Nimax/phone number for ATG. If I was you, I would keep hold of the tickets and maybe try to get returns by keeping an eye on the website, especially in the days before and if you have no luck, try the box office the day before. Then, if you do get lucky with some better tickets I would return your originals, I imagine the return queue would suggest nearly always the tickets will be taken by someone else.

I presume there will still be dayseats for the final Monday, if that's the cast I will try that and endure the early start.

Guys, does anyone know if Rachelle and/or Eva will be off next week? I just saw Rachelle's Instagram and looks like she's in Paris. I booked to see this in advance because I just want to see these two girls sing their faces off. If anyone is in the know, pass the knowledge! I think they've both been off this week, or both extremely recently, so I would imagine they would be back on next week.

If that was the case it would be a massive vanity project. In reality I doubt that would ever happen.

I do prefer the architecture of the old theatres, but as modern theatres go, especially some of the ghastly touring venues, the New London, in my opinion, is a nice change.

Interesting that Gary Trainor is the Alternate, from Beautiful I would never have envisaged him as having an 'inner Dewey'.

I think I'm more excited about the Ms Mullins casting than Dewey now, especially if those posters are anything to go by.

Now if this was Wicked, I'm sure there would be people camping outside the venue to spy on people going in to work out who was in the cast before any announcement.

I'm planning to try the returns queue this coming Saturday, but I have a couple questions: Are most of these tickets released by the box office, as opposed to people walking up with extra tickets? Asking because, when I did the returns queue for The Winter's Tale at the Garrick during my theatre trip in January, I got my ticket from a woman who just came by with an extra. The box-office directed her to me - since I was 1st in the queue - and I had to pay her in cash (I was surprised because that kind of shady transaction would be frowned upon by box-office workers in the States, but in this case it was sanctioned). Should I expect it to be similar on Saturday? Or will the tickets more likely be released by the box-office? Also, will I have to pay with cash? I remember they made me pay for my return ticket with cash at the Menier when I saw Funny Girl, even though it was from the box office directly. Long story short: Most of my experiences with return tickets have been directly through the box office with a credit card, but I had those 2 different experiences here in London, and basically I'm wondering if those were isolated incidents or not. Thanks for any help! Would also appreciate any other advice you may have on what to expect when trying the returns queue. Box office I imagine, or else they run the risk of someone ripping you off.
