I really like her. They have to balance having a a leading actress who can sell the movie and also pull off the role www.youtube.com/watch?v=

Surprised that there has been no official word so far about who will be playing Phil tonight for the opening

I was in two minds about seeing this show but decided to go to the matinee on Saturday 15th and was pleasantly surprised. The cast are absolutely charming. You can't help but fall in love with them and it was a lot funnier than I expected it to be. The calendar scene towards the end was hysterical! I was sat towards the back of the stalls and couldn't notice many empty seats but I don't know what the upper levels were like. The audience really seemed to be loving it and I heard a lot of positive comments around me. I found the music to be a bit hit and miss at times but I would quite like a cast recording. There's nothing really groundbreaking with the music here but it was enjoyable on the whole and I left the theatre humming Yorkshire. It may just be me but the projected clouds on the backdrop looked a bit juddery. Anyone else?

Looks like Andy Karl had an injury tonight during the show. Show was halted and he returned to the stage to finish the show with a cane. Hope he will be ok with opening night just around the corner http://instagram.com/p/BS4-w0JldLv

I've heard that they have added another illusion which involves Andy Karl climbing a ladder but magically ending up back in the bed

The Facebook page has said that they've releases 'Hope' early to iTunes. I've checked and it's not on there yet, but it is on Spotify....and it sounds F***ING awesome. Thanks for the heads up. Just listened to it on Apple Music. Absolutely love it!

Haven't read the thread back so sorry if this has already been discussed, but Alice and Ruthie on the Magic Radio broadcast are driving me nuts...why do they sound so bitter?! Also...they seem shocked that Harry Potter isn't a musical...because it's got music in it? Are they actually being serious? *face palm* Yeah they've mentioned this a few times. So bizarre. Yes there is loads of music in the play. I love the music in Harry Potter and wish they would release it but it is clearly NOT a musical

How have they not managed to find a King yet?! It doesn't open until November and Lin-Manuel Miranda is currently filming Mary Poppins, there's no need for them to have done a load of auditions for it yet - they may always have been intending to cast the role separately. Plus they don't start rehearsals until September. Plenty of time

Tim Minchin has said at the Oliviers that the aim is for Groundhog Day to be back in London within a year

So the Facebook page has blocked reviews from being posted about the show. Before they removed them I had seen a number of reviews complaining about the set. Now this could just be because it's in previews but I haven't seen any other show do this. Groundhog Day is still in previews and they are letting people review their show on Facebook

It's a shame to see people posting negative reactions about this cast change and there is clearly a lack of knowlede from some people about how casting in theatre works. However there are also some really lovely comments from people who have seen the play already and are wanting to go back to experience a new take on the characters

Wow that's a big change. Will be seeing it for the third time in June so I'm looking forward to seeing this new cast though I thought the original cast was fantastic and will be sad to see them go

I'm not surpried they have gone so over the top on their views on BWW though. They are always arguing, being over the top. There is no middle ground with them, they eachother really love it or really hate it and snap at eachother alot anyway. We are alot more held back here compared to them on that board! Yes I've noticed this when looking for opinions on Groundhog Day. Some really scathing opinions on there but when you check social media it is a lot more positive

Reading that they have removed the television set pieces for when each child wins a ticket and it is just done at the back of the stage with a projection. Set is minimalistic. They have also changed the design of the Oompa Loompas and Willy Wonka is introduced right at the beginning of the show singing Candy Man

Ewww look at that tiny factory in the background. Please don't tell me that's what they use throughout the show. The one thing the London production had going for it was it's design so it's a shame that they have changed it

Awk why did it have to end on such a cliffhanger??? Hate that we have to watch it weekly now...been so used to binge watching it. It's always been a weekly show it's just we never had such quick and easy access to the show before. Could always hold off until it's finished and binge it then. Thank god for Netflix!

"I also don't have my phone with me" From the reflection it looks like she's filming it with a phone. Is she pretending? What is she? Some kind of actress? Oh, wait... She uses a camera to film her vlogs. Not a phone

Oh excellent! I was slightly afraid that the Broadway side of things might try putting their foot down over Playing Nancy, I would have very much missed it if they had. One complaint I have seen a lot from people who have seen it on Broadway is that they don't think Playing Nancy works and that it should be cut. It was always a divisive song but it would be a shame to lose it

Anyone know if Sam is still off this week? I checked his Twitter but can't tell if he's back in England or still in America. I'm going to see it this Sunday on March 19th and was hoping to catch Sam as Albus again since I've seen Tom as Albus twice already. I saw the show on Wednesday and it was Tom playing the role. Not sure when Sam is back. I have to say that having seen Sam last August I think I prefer Tom's portrayal of the role. Not to say that Sam was bad but I just thought that Tom fitted the part so naturally

OMG! Didn't the same thing happen in London? Not quite. They didn't explain exactly what it was but the decided to turn the first preview into an open dress rehearsal instead. Something can't have been quite right for them to do this though it ran smoothly with no major problems. Regarding what happened last night the general consensus online appears to be that they smashed it despite the change to a concert style show. It looks like they handled it really well at the theatre with offers for free drinks and and invite to come back for free when they wish.

Oh dear there appears to be a technical issue with the revolves. The delay has gone on for so long that they have offered everyone in the audience a free drink

Looking forward to hearing reports from people who see this tonight and over the coming weeks. Will be interesting to see what they have changed from the London run and how the audience on Broadway takes to it

I so wish this is not left somewhere in the Disney archives and is eventually released on DVD/Blu-Ray. It so makes me want them to professionally film and release other productions. Jeremy Jordan posted on Twitter that he is sure it will get a digital release but not so sure about DVD/Bluray
