There are rumours that this is not about Nemo at all, and the voting was manipulated to ensure a neutral country (in the current geopolitical climate) won. make of that what you will! What a load of rubbish

Who would have thought that the UK and Ireland would be sending the best staging this year? Pretty impressive from both

When is the next trailer due? Depends on how many more trailers they plan to put out. A lot of movies only release 2 trailers so if that’s the plan then I wouldn’t expect another trailer until at least August or September. But if they plan to release 2 more trailers then we might get one fairly soon with a third closer to the release. Universal are putting out a Twisters movie in July and it would definitely feel like a missed opportunity to not put some kind of tie in trailer before that. “Before a twister took Dorothy to Oz..” etc etc

It’s a real shame for the child to be mocked like this but I think it’s important to say that I don’t think anyone making videos is doing so maliciously or with the intent to cause upset. People are just jumping on a trend without thinking about how that young girl might feel. It’s careless and this should hopefully serve as a good lesson for what content they should and not be making going forward. But let’s not go cancelling people.

Cast looks great, bet Carrie HF is fuming not to be Nancy Can’t we celebrate the casting without dragging down other actors?

Dillamond is Peter Dinklage Also if anyone’s wondering about puppetry or cgi this was posted by DiscussingFilm “There’s also a quick look at Doctor Dillamond, a CGI goat in fancy attire voiced by Peter Dinklage”

They've also got loads of costumes out on display. Every audience member has been given a light up Wicked lanyard and there are Tulips in every single cupholder in the theatre which they've been told not to touch. Universal are going in hard. I would expect some new footage. Maybe a live performance. But I'm not sure how much of this will get released to the public as most Cinemacon footage remains exclusive the people attending.

I can’t fathom why they think this is a good idea to make 2 films at all, apart from it making more money. It’s not that deep of a story, far from it. The story doesn’t naturally end with DG, that song is not a conclusion in any way. I can’t imagine leaving the cinema feeling satisfied having seen her fly off on a broomstick. It just doesn’t work. It’s obviously to do with money but the only way that they make money is if they have genuinely good movies. People aren’t going to the cinema like they used to and if part 1 is rubbish then it will bomb at the box office and then part 2 will be dead on arrival. Part 1 being a disaster just isn’t an option for them as they will then have that hanging over their heads for a whole year as they try and promote the next movie. Universal could have easily played it safe and made one movie but they must have felt really confident about how the movie was shaping up during preproduction to green light it for 2. We might not see the vision yet as to how they are expanding this story into 2 parts but personally I’m feeling quite optimistic about it. I’m also totally prepared to eat my own words when the movie comes out and it’s awful.

What are the chances of a second Wicked movie look at the Oscar’s, 3/10? High or not possible? I’d highly doubt it. We were lucky to even get a trailer at the Super Bowl as it is still fairly early. There’s plenty of movies that come out before Wicked that haven’t even had a first trailer yet.

So they sent out that teaser video to every theatre outlet and influencer under the sun to share this morning. Unfortunatley however one of them accidentally posted the wrong video and completely spoiled who it is. Who uploaded it? I believe it was London Theatre Direct

I'm surprised there wasn't a single shot of Nessarose in the teaser. No close up shots just of her but you can see her a couple of times.

Also just want to say how much I love this poster. We are so used to generic floating head posters for movies. But this is so effective.

Also thought it was interesting it's titled 'Wicked'. No mention of part 1 or a sub title Makes me wonder if they haven't 100% settled on it being split or not. The Vanity Fair article that released at the same time still refers to the movie being in 2 parts - “We didn’t want to end up making one four-hour movie and then cutting out songs. We want to satisfy the fans of the musical,” says Platt. “Film allows you to create a place and a time—a university like Shiz, an extraordinary Emerald City governor’s mansion. There’s so much more to explore.” Also just to add that I think there are definitely some clips of both movies in this trailer. It’s titled Wicked - First Look so I think this is definitely intended as just a tease of the whole project rather than specific marketing for just the first movie.

The more I see and hear, the more I think its Goldblum & Johnny Bailey who are gonna make this. Considering how little he is in the trailer I agree that Goldblum looks great. But the person who stood out for me was Michelle Yeoh.

I know its only a teaser, but looks like another 'hide it's a musical' approach from the marketing team. I don’t understand this at at all. Like you said it’s just a teaser. But the trailer literally starts and ends with singing.

A trailer will mean that we should finally get confirmation of what the official title is. Will they go with Wicked Part One or will they give it a subtitle? Any guesses?

Confirmed. The first look at the film will be in the first ad break of the SuperBowl this weekend. Now I need to think how I can watch it and record it. If previous years are anything to go by then it’ll be online pretty much as soon as it debuts on tv.

People do realise Disney is more than just movies? They make more money from the theme parks and things like ESPN. So they shouldn’t ever worry about their movies being profitable because they have other revenue streams? There’s a reason that over the next few years we are getting Moana 2, Zootopia 2, Inside Out 2, Toy Story 5 and Frozen 3. Money. They also find themselves in the middle of the “culture wars” and have a reputation that they need to rescue. Bad box office does not help the stock price. I’m looking forward to all of these sequels as I like all of those movies but it’s all coming at once as they need to turn around their box office and get people going back to cinemas to see Disney movies rather than waiting for Disney+

Surely not ..I am pretty sure ..that they both were first choice. .after the Grammy win..and because of the connections between Disney ..Emily Bear…and her agent Richard Kraft ..for years.. a female..who is under contract since the age of 16 next to this legends..Oscar,Tony etc. kraft-engel.com/clients/will never ever be fifth choice Yes, it seemed it was planned first as a series ..but in the end we all don‘t know.. Perhaps you should not be so negative..or not so full of envy…there seem to be a lot of „Piers Morgans“ here..lol screenrant.com/moana-2-announcement-disney-animated-movie-problems-fix/They're worse than Piers Morgans, they're gay Piers Morgans - Andrew Pierce's!! I think we need to be realistic in that Disney need to be pulling in more money & a Moana sequel, rather than another original film which flops, is a good way to do that. And it's not going to be straight-to-video quality is it? That’s exactly the worry though. This was supposed to be a direct to streaming project that they have decided to push into cinemas as they are really struggling at the box office and they don’t have another animated movie ready for thanksgiving. So they’ve got to turn something that was created to be an episodic tv show into a full movie which could really create problems when it comes to the pacing of the film. And as it is a direct to streaming project I would expect the level of animation to not necessarily be hitting the standard that you expect from the latest Disney movies. It will probably look like the last Moana movie which came out 8 years ago which means it will look ok but it’s not pushing the boundaries of what animation is capable of today. Like how the Monsters Inc Disney+ show was clearly not up to the level of animation that Pixar is known for. I love Moana. I genuinely hope it’s great. And also their number one choice of composer would absolutely be Lin Manuel Miranda. His work across Moana and Encanto has been hugely successful for Disney. But Lin has bigger fish to fry than a straight to streaming tv show.

Ahhh I see that this was supposed to be a direct to Disney+ tv series so probably couldn’t afford Lin.

Where’s Lin? His music was part of what made the first movie so good!

What are the chances of us getting something at the Superbowl? I’d be surprised if they didn’t. Wicked is probably Universals biggest film this year and this is the perfect opportunity to release a first teaser and start the marketing campaign. Grace Randolph who is a movie critic and insider tweeted out that she has so far heard that Disney has 3 spots and Universal has 1. Then adding “Rumor is D, A, A and W” D is most likely Deadpool 3. The 2 As could be a number of things. But I feel like the W could only be Wicked. Though Universal is also releasing a Wolf Man movie this year so who knows! Not long to find out.
