Speaking for myself I'd rather have the reduced Setlist than a cancellation as the night I have tickets is a second night. Have seen every U.K. tour so far and would hate to miss one now!

I'm quite glad about that as I love Emma Williams but loathe South Pacific - I don't have a difficult decision to make if it's too far to travel!

Emma Williams has been tweeting for a while about learning South Pacific as a dream role so it's certainly going to be on somewhere!

Saw the final performance of this last night in Salisbury and loved it - well worth the drive for me. I've wanted to see 'Mame' on stage for years and it really didn't disappoint. Mind you, I don't go in as a critic simply to have an entertaining evening. I'm sure there are many faults if I look for them but I just sat back and enjoyed it. Any show that my first thought at the end is 'joyous' will do it for me and everyone around me was over the moon saying how much fun it was and what a great night. If it makes a return once Tracie Bennett's back from Broadway I'll absolutely be there, would love to see it again

Fantastic news! I loved this - and am another who thought it was so much better than Phantom. Hmm, this year's list of shows to book is getting ridiculously long and it's only January!

Peter Polycarpou and Al Silbur - I'm certainly booking for this one on Monday. Loathe travelling to the Menier but this will get me there no problem!

Add in a couple of additional neighbours in the form of Felicity Kendal and Penelope Keith and I'm there!

Woken just after 1am by nightmare neighbour's loud 'music' (not sure what he plays but he really does have zero talent!) so have come downstairs and put Encore radio on at top volume AND have the hoover running - let's hope it pisses him off soon so I can go back to sleep!

I'm starting to think there should be some way of telling the lighting operatives the seat number and getting a spotlight on the person filming - so long as it's done in a way that won't ruin the performance. Having had that done to me once (in a good way and for a nice reason) it's incredibly embarrassing and everyone really does turn to look! Either that or the ushers have strong torches which they shine on the face until the person stops. Something needs to be done before a cast member has a serious accident from losing focus - in which case could that count as some form of assault and have the audience member charged just to make a point?!

I seem to have been to more concerts this year (top 5 of those would be far more difficult!) plus had a few months out of seeing anything due to illness so sadly missed many things that I would have liked to have seen, hoping for a better theatre going year 2020!

If it really is the tour Farewell then it does make more sense to stick with Lyn Paul. Personally I'm delighted as she's my ultimate Mrs J and the Spring dates have far more venues near me than this recent tour. As for Lyn, I'm sure she's meant it each time she's said no more but work is work when all's said and done and it must be flattering to know you're wanted back so often

If they like musicals then BFI have the 3D Kiss Me Kate - might appeal as 3D so they get something a bit different, comes with a 3D cartoon from the same period too

If they have the cold that I had a few weeks ago they have my full sympathy - I couldn't even speak without coughing like mad for ages so how they would attempt to sing is beyond me. Colds spread quickly too so not surprising they're all going down with it. In an ideal world it would spread gradually so only one of them was off at a time, however we don't live in that world.
I do feel for those who have travelled, booked hotels etc - been there myself when the person performing has had to cancel and it's horrible. However I knew that person would only cancel if absolutely necessary so accepted it even though disappointed. From all I gather Michael Ball rarely cancels so must be feeling rotten, I don't know about the others.
It's a risk we take when booking tickets for a performer rather than a performance. If we're not prepared to take the risk we shouldn't book - and we certainly shouldn't take our disappointment out on the front of house staff who are probably dreading going into work as it is knowing there's a high chance of abuse from someone.

Do you know what, where I work we are not allowed to have our phones on us unless on breaks - and so far no-one has died from this! People are capable of going for far longer than the time of a show without them so why not have them completely banned in theatres. I for one love the idea of seeing a concert without someone else's arm in the air in front of me desperately recording the show, also why on earth they want to then listen to all the out of tune audience members singing along via their computer is a little beyond me. If you're so important that you HAVE to be reached no matter what and it can't wait 90 minutes or so then you really probably shouldn't be there anyway.

Saw this last week and really enjoyed it. I hadn't read the book or seen the film so went in blind, perhaps that's better who knows. The amount of energy from the cast was wonderful, they seemed to be enjoying it and that always helps as far as I'm concerned. Would agree row E is great for view and although it was a bit disorganised it was in such a fun and friendly way that it certainly wasn't a problem, thought the front of house staff were lovely and were so helpful, makes a nice change from some of the bigger places!

Just lost a little of my excitement for seeing this in Dartford this week - just had a call from them saying that due to summer refurbishments my seat was being changed from central row B to right out on the end. When I said I wasn't happy the guy was full of the seat configuration etc changing, a need to move things around etc, I finally got through that I wasn't happy and got moved to central row A, the seat in front of the one I had booked originally, despite having been told the move was due to aisle seats being needed for access. I'm still an aisle seat one row further forward! To be honest I think I was moved because I had a single seat and it was easier for them, not expecting to get someone who regularly goes to the theatre and knows where she wants to sit, hence booking as soon as it was on sale. It wasn't the guy on the phone's fault, I feel sorry for him having to do all the work whilst an uncaring management sit back and expect it to just happen - and I did tell him that. I had a look and various extra seats have become available through the week - probably due to others not being happy. The Orchard will not be on my list of theatres to visit in future unless I'm desperate to see something and it's my only choice. I had planned possibly going on Thursday as well, they've lost that sale.
Good thing I love the show, and Lyn Paul, enough to know I'll still love the show.

Ticketmaster still has the time as 8.30 so I would doubt they'll offer refunds unless/until they have to change the time officially - I have a couple of friends wondering exactly the same thing which is why we checked what the official time in the UK is stating

Have to say that whilst I would prefer to see JOJ personally I do understand Alfie fans being disappointed, always a drop when you've gone to see a particular performer and they're not on for whatever reason. That said, I understand disappointment NOT abuse towards other cast members be it like that in the theatre, at stage door or via social media. I do wonder how Michael Ball feels in all of this though, can't be an easy position for him watching Alfie being a no-show for Les Mis and yet still doing the promo for the album and concerts.

British Film Institute, they're doing a musicals season at the moment - there is a thread for it but wasn't sure where so put the offer here instead as I was in a bit of a rush!

Anyone booking for BFI musicals you can use SHOW241 if not going alone (or would like extra space for no extra cost!)

Also listed for Canterbury, Marlowe Theatre, 14-18 July 2020. I wish the Wise Children website would stay updated, I contacted them about something before seeing this in Cambridge and never received a reply - they need to look at managing that side of thing better really

Where the poppy earrings etc are concerned I think it's down to personal choice. I know someone who has a pair and wears them to all family events representing those lost as they lost two family members in more recent conflicts.

It’s gonna beeeeee a long niggghhhtttt... damn I love those songs! Back to Turbine! Ha Really surprising there has been no move to get these songs on stage. Fame The TV series musical would surely have some sort of shelflife. Get the great Debbie Allen to direct it or at least be a consultant and it would have legitimacy. After the incredible Fame Reunion weekend I'm sure some of the cast members would also agree to be involved - mind you, my bank manager would strongly disagree with the idea!

I thoroughly enjoyed this one too - although the number of little girls proclaiming that 'Bill wasn't an honourable, that was Clarissa' had me in fits of laughter. Messing with the characters might be accepted by adults but the kids were quite indignant!
