Vote on which regionally produced musical you are most looking forward to coming up later this year. Sorry if I've missed any off, if you have other shows in mind then feel free to vote 'other' and give that show some love by naming it in the thread below. Do bear in mind this is poll is for in house productions and so not generally for national tours or shows trying out prior to the West End.

Glad to see Lara and John back as they were great. Though i'd have also loved to see Amy Booth Steele come back to play Lara's role too as she was great in the original Curve run. John Hopkins was hysterical.

To be fair she did say in the What's On Stage article that it's a different type of music and singing that she normally does so she's clearly going to try and sing it as it should be. If she's never had to sing this sort of style before how do we know she can't

I've been feeling like a solo break for a while and this sounded great because i'd be able to find plenty of like minded people ect but if you go solo the cheapest cabin is over £1,000! For a few days at sea, some concerts and a day in dublin, no ta!

She's in Casualty on BBC One but she couldn't sing that role anyway imo. Also i don't really agree with purposely doing what you have suggested. Which bit? Casting Genesis, getting PR out of the casting, or casting a queer WOC? I can’t believe Casualty is still on! Is Charlie still in it? Well, it's fine if they case someone to play Celie who is LGBT naturally but the problem is if they went out specifically to do that. I don't think that is right at all. The casting of parts should always be based on talent and who is best on the day, that's why Seyi was cast, and fair enough that blew up, but i think that should still be the general rule. Plus in this case because there has been such a public issue, purpose casting an LGBT actress would seem like over compensating and making a false gesture.

I’ve been wondering about this but I couldn’t find the thread. I feel like there’s a really good chance for them to get some good PR out of this casting, I really hope they find an amazing queer black actress. What’s Genesis Lynea up to at the moment? She's in Casualty on BBC One but she couldn't sing that role anyway imo. Also i don't really agree with purposely doing what you have suggested.

But hasn't Lucie been lined up for Waitress for several months? In which case how and why would she also be close to being Elphaba?

Is there any news on the casting of Celie? Or are the background checks still waiting to clear so they get it right this time? I'd expect it by the end of the month because they start rehearsals in a couple of weeks.

This might be of interest to some on here. Curve are releasing £10 tickets on selected dates for those under 26. Also for those on low incomes/on benefits and first time visitors to curve. I'm sure this will be helpful for some members and readers of this forum. More info here CLICK MEBookings for these tickets must be made via phoning the box office (or in person but i's sure phoning is the best option for many of you). The phone number is in the article linked.

Somehow Silky manages to survive. At least she was in the bottom this time though. I don't think Nina should have gone though i do get her critiques from the judges this week.

I guess it's just a filler extension until something comes in next year. I can't imagine there won't be something more attractive to ATG than 9 to 5 wanting the theatre next year. I'd even imagine something is a done deal. A full theatre is a full theatre. 9-5 has been very busy and this results in maximum bar takings etc. As long as business keeps up it will continue. Maybe, but will it still be by April? With a tour on the go too. I expect something else to be going in after April 2020.

Brenda and Sandra Marvin are both phenomenal Motormouths - would be happy with either. Would be interesting to see Brenda in this production as she's only done the Curve production previously. Sandra Marvin is a main character in Emmerdale now so doubt it will be her.

Is it part of a more extensive tour or are they just visiting those 3 venues?

Of course, the good thing about saying you know who it is or isn't but not actually saying who it is or isn't, is that when it's announced one can claim to have been the right ones all along regardless

I don't know if it would nominated in any case but for something like Adrian mole, could that be nominated for things even though its already been at Menier? Does being in the West end open it up again? Or isn't Menier eligible at the oliviers anyway? Menier isn't eligable so this will be it's first chance to get nominated. Oh that's good then. I would love it to get a little nom somewhere.

I'm not sure they should be having a go at Vanjie for being on one level and the same character all the time though when that is exactly what Silky does and they lap it up.

I am looking forward to it. I never saw the original run as this was the time before i actually bit the bullet and started going to London to see things. But it was really the show along with Wicked that piqued my interest in Theatre.
I did see the Curve production and subsequent (not as good) tours of it but i'm definitely interested in seeing the original, especially with Micheal Ball.
That said, i'm not entirely sure this is going to be a guaranteed success. Hairspray has been round the block with these tours already.

Well just because it's the same director doesn't mean aspects of the show/staging won't change. This will be the first 'major' run of the show and probably hoping to lead to Broadway, so they easily could be adding a new set. There's no listing for any creatives other than the director and choreographer as they are to be confirmed which means all the other aspects could be new.
