Ha, I didn’t see any of the kids’ tears but was probably watching Craige at the time! I know what you mean...I enjoyed it but have no great desire to see it again. The swing scene was done fabulously.

Today marked Craige Els' final performances as Miss Trunchbull. Elliot Harper takes over from the next venue onward. I was there at Craige’s last performance - he had a big hug from Rebecca Thornhill at the end and various cast members were applauding him too. He gave the audience a thumbs up as he left the stage, having apparently done 1262 shows in the role!

Sad news that richard swerrun had died. He was Joseph on tour and the West End for so many years. So sad to hear this - I remember seeing him many times as Joseph, so full of life. Are there any online tributes?

Saw it the other day and it was fabulous, moving and fun. Oh, and lovely to see Nicola Hughes again too, she’s always great.

Anyone know when the latest programme was published and if there are production photos of Bonnie in it? Last one I have is September last year. Hope they still have some left tomorrow night. I’ll be in row E of stalls !

Remember seeing her on stage in On The Town at the Coliseum. A fabulous comic actress. RIP.

Ah, that explains it! The Matilda website and the Cardiff theatre programme still list Craige though...

Was Craige Els on as Miss Trunchball - every time I’ve been past, the cast board has Steffan Lloyd Evans listed...

The Record Album in Brighton is still going under new ownership and with an updated website therecordalbum.com - lots of soundtracks on there.

Thanks theatreian, looks like I’ll be off to Malvern for a cheeky matinee at the start of the tour!

I hope Linzi continues as I’d like to see her, having missed her in Swansea. Malvern isn’t too far so am keeping my fingers crossed!

Amy Webb and Charli Baptie were on this afternoon. Amy does indeed have a phenomenal voice. Amy Ross and Helen Woolf seem to have missed a lot of shows in Cardiff. Hope they’re ok.

I finally caught up with this show yesterday and it’s a lot of fun (particularly if you’ve seen the film which I rewatched last week). Anna Francolini does a great comic turn and the dancing is superb. Glad I saw it, but the circle seat I was in was very low, I felt as if I was sitting on the floor!

This appears to be cancelled at many of the venues now (and on Ticketmaster) - anyone know what’s going on? Was so looking forward to seeing Maria and Bonnie!

Saw Daniel in Crazy For You just a few short months ago - so sorry to hear of his passing at such a young age.

I saw Claire in The King and I and she was a fabulous Anna. Love her voice and her recent stint in The Girls proved she’s still got it!

Thanks all. It was purely scheduling that might prevent me seeing Part 1, not a desire to only see Vanessa Redgrave in Part 2. Don’t live in London so it’s difficult to fit in as much theatre as I’d like! Thanks for all the advice.

This has probably been asked before, but could I see just Part 2 and would it make any sense having not seen Part 1? Is there an online synopsis?
