Saw the show tonight circle was full bought tickets part of theatre week row F £25 noticed earlier seats still empty today on row C had been reduced to £25 also ? Thought I was in the wrong seats when I arrived as seat plan reviews said it was a walkway and had extra leg room they must have put in extra seats ? As leg room was so tight excellent view though Had a 7-8 min stop half way through tech difficulty but Rob picked it back to and soon had audience back in the palm of his hands wonderful 65 minutes loved every moment a truly special show 5/5 ⭐️ from me

A friend of mine went night after me and totally hated it plays to ever gay cliche and stereotype dated and offensive … and said that 2 hours he will never get back … just goes to show how marmite shows can be 😊🎭

Saw the last preview tonight sold out theatre …. Hmmmm started off strong some great one liners many gay men of a certain age will be rolling around laughing some younger members of the lgbtq+ in the audience took sharp intake of breath and let out disapproving gasps …. Nice revolving simple effective set if a bit slow … great talented cast … Sara Crowe was missing was looking I forward to seeing her … her part was taken by Black actress and played with in broad South African accent got lots of laughs no understudies listed . A few lines of Abba songs played between scenes but was hoping for more ….
The Story and writing …… well a fun play … some great laughs but don’t think 🤔 any of the greats have anything to worry about toward the end at times it did feel like I was watching a college / uni written play is pedestrian the correct phrase ??
Strong start first half better than second … slowed down towards the end less laughs 55 mins 1hr 20min interval
Brochures still at printers wil be £5 selling script too and bags
The finale all come on in Abba costumes audience immediately clap along desperate for at least one song 🎵 we get couple of lines lipsynched then fades out hope this changes
If u are a devoted abba fan you will love all the true fab references
I went with 9 friends all had a fun night tickets were only £10 preview …. Up to £20 would still have said yep a nice night out. More than £30 I’d be saying hmmm enjoyed it but …. £35-50 I’d have been miffed and felt a bit robbed 3 stars

Whether because of a 2-for1 members offer, or the £20 offer posted above, but The Lowry run has sold really well...even on the night when Man Utd are playing Barcelona at home! Case in point I think don’t you people more likely to take a chance on£20 rather than £40-50. More theatres need to do things like this

Just checked Birmingham and it’s terribly sad looking ticket sales circles completely unsold. Few rows in stalls sold for each performance 🙁 again £53 - £28 with any decent view They should do day seats for £15 fill these huge theatres must be so demoralising for the hard working talented cast or give to carers Emergency services etc for £10 They would more than make up the money on bar and snack sales etc Birmingham Rep often sell unsold tickets to community groups and NHS at half the ticket price or less to get people in enjoying theatre

It’s a shame quite fancied this it may still be local before it ends will check ….. mind you touring show tickets are higher than ever been recently …. Looked for something the weekend at 6 local ish theatres ….. was lucky to get any decent seat for less than £40 front stalls are regularly £50-60 Only ones I could afford for strictly ballroom in wolves were £24 each ..listening only ! You read correctly
Death drop next month Saturday sold about 200 seats too price tickets £60

Thanks for the advice all row E middle was perfect and yes George spends most of his time that side too . Really enjoyed the production found it very moving at times very strong cast , 3.5 ⭐️ for me maybe a 4 with George in it knowing he and his family lived that life does resonate . Clever use of a small space never felt like I missed anything .

The set and the house are the original too from 30 years ago , thinks it’s slightly more central now than originally … I agree Eric is outstanding and the inspector too … but a very strong cast All round …

Sorry if this has been asked before is there a better side to sit on ? Looking at the offer £35 tickets ? If you want to sit closer to George Takei, choose rows A to H. That's the side he's sitting closer to most of the time. Otherwise both sides are fine but make sure you get seats in the middle of the rows. Thanks for the info I saw an offer on. OLT website today for sale tickets 🎟️ phew 😥 I bought correct ones then I managed to get row E middle for £30 for Saturday 👍🎭

Front row seats are £25, brilliant view as the stage isn't high at all. (Booked through atg) Fun night. Cast seem to have settled into roles. As seemed as funny as I remember. Hi how did u manage to book them ? I looked at 10 different performances but front row sent on sale ? Are they day seats ? Only

Finally got Rush tix for this on second attempt to go past payment page ? Anyone else have issues ? I had tickets for allegiance then payment page took so long to go through times me out then. Lost them 😳 But I’ve seen a few different productions of this way back and loved it one west end production way back my parents were in hysterics my mother fell off her seat literally ! I think that was Peter Egan and Patricia hodge ? And another production was Maggie steed playing dotty Sylvester McCoy Selsdon a great production too so was looking forward to this as felicity Kendal is a real idol of mine .
Circle was full looked full else where too and huge applause screams and cheers (maybe family ?) for me there was something missing had all the elements but they just don’t seem to gel at moment ….. felicity maybe mis cast ? She was very quiet 🤫 throughout …. I’d give it 3 ⭐️ the last Scene worked better but still lots of missed opportunities throughout One of the funniest running gags from previous productions is sadly missing … they used to duck every time they walked past the windows in the second scene when it was backstage hilarious visuals they all did was glaringly missing here .
My saving grace was Tracy Ann Oberon she had some hilarious asides looks to the audience little giggles I’ve not seen in other productions she seems to have it sussed. Rest of the cast were good but not outstanding considering is the 40th anniversary production I got seats for £25 anything over this I’d feel robbed For many years sometimes my partner and I have quoted Spain there all in Spain at random times stuck in our head hope this gets better once all settled

For me he was more hype over talent like others said thinks he’s more talented than he is … his voice wasn’t strong enough for me and found the performance very flat and one dimensional compared to the other Jamie’s I’ve seen . Didn’t like the changes on the tour either even the small changes like when the phone rings …. Line used to be Rude ! Then on tour was something like it’s my agent … for me just didn’t work .
I stayed for post show talk Shobna was first on couple of others then Shane …. 10 mins into talk Layton comes on with cases and scarf shades. Blows kisses waves takes 2 questions apologises bless him he was sick and had to get train …( a few rolled eyes ) but had great 25 mins with rest of the cast .
Would be nice to have a Jamie Campbell type Jamie back for a change after all he is a real person

Just come out of newsies and didn’t love it and trying to think why … I loved the broadway tv showing . I was Brooklyn in the l 43-45 £32 seats which give a great view … not too comfy though after a while felt fidgety . The sound was pretty bad first half couldn’t make out any dialogue it all blurred into one sound … the big numbers from solos felt very quiet 🤫 and needed to be notched up a bit … even Brontë who in what’s new pussycat blew the roof off the Rep every show … I saw that show 5 times !loved every moment ❤️…. The only other time I felt like this was after come from away ….. again tonight full standing ovation but I just didn’t feel it ? 🤔. Great design dancing and hardworking cast not sure if the immersive side was off putting at times as it’s concert style temp seating sounded like heard of elephants every time they ran on and off sometimes louder than the voices on stage . Hey ho as they say you can’t please everybody all of the time but I was so looking forward to this and came away feeling a little cold maybe it was the cavernous venue , maybe I was tired , I know I didn’t really connect with any of the characters? The main guy playing jack I wasn’t too enamoured with either . I may give it another go in a few months 3/5 from me 👍😊 THERES YOUR PROBLEM. Where you sat. Simples. Its not a show for anywhere less than Brooklyn and the side areas - sorry - but thats the truth. It is an excellent show, but stating that sounds etc issue is plainly wrong. Simple are that. Sound excellent, production excellent ( my daughter btw is the fan not me! ) . Seating the key. Pay the monies, £60 for side view in Lincoln, and you will love it. Sorry I don’t agree with you shouldn’t have to pay top price to be able to enjoy a show from only certain seats , some shows I’ve seen multiple times we all have our favourites I’ve sat in £10 seats and in £100 seats and more often then not enjoyed the show as much if not the same Everyone has different opinions and experiences no one opinion is better or worse than any other . Everyone will experience something different … and share in a forum Must clarify when I said I came away cold I meant in regards tge production. Where I was sat … in seats that were cheaper than £60 I had a great view and was physically warm . Maybe in a proper theatre space I may have enjoyed it better in the round maybe . The sound is very weak and I couldn’t hear many words clearly diction was particularly poor in places and I agree Jack was mis cast With all the effort to make it immersive I’ve not felt so disconnected from-a show …. The dance numbers and production values are good if I was watching cirque de sole song and dance show then ok but a full musical 🎵 needs to be more balanced in my humble ( cheap seat ) opinion

I’ve seen a few productions of this over the years from the amazing sue devany as Dorothy way back in the 80s to a much more recent production at the same theatre Bham Rep ….( And some Dodgy ones in between ) xThat production a few years ago was the first time I’d enjoyed the whole show on stage. Great set lighting and effects a constantly moving set or stage . And Lorna laidlaw currently in Corrie playing the wizard was fab
