Every change after I've booked hotel and flight is considered short notice. They should have asked for my permission Every time someone changes holiday dates after they've been published it's going to inconvenience both those who booked to see the standby & those who booked to see the lead. At times I have wished that they weren't allowed to change dates once published unless there's some sort of emergency. I still remember the string of useless Wicked tickets I ended up with back in 2007 when Jerry Ellis kept on changing her holiday dates when I was trying to see Shona White. Michael (sorry, don't know how to tag people on here), which option did Alice sing for the end of INTG this afternoon? I'm wondering if she always takes the higher note or not. To be fair, very few people are going to see the show for one particular actor or actress though. Plus, I've had to change my holiday dates at work last minute before now - the cast of Wicked are within every right to do so as well.

I think the castboard is wrong, Alice usually tweets if she is on and she hasn't tweeted since last night after finishing her confirmed run of dates. I think it's a Rachel show... Luckily it's right, as it is Alice. So happy about this Ah great - happy for you. Let us know your thought after!

Pretty good riff, but it can't beat Kerry's "things I've never felt" riff. Eargasm every single time. Kerry sounds great but I can't deal with all the fangirl screaming... ughhhh.

I just walked past the theatre to get some food before the show, and also past the Victoria Palace... I do wonder if Wicked will see a boost at the box office with regards to Hamilton's spill-over buisness? If they have day seats or return queues and people are unsuccessful, they could look to Wicked as the next choice as not only is it one of the most well-known and arguably biggest shows in London but also it is the only theatre close by compared to others in the West End. Thoughts? I definitely think having an extra couple of thousand theatregoers in the area will not harm the show!

Thanks. I think I'll just book for a date in January instead. I forgot to mention in my review post that I love that in the second chorus of Defying Gravity (after "if that's love it come at much too higher cost") she goes up on the "Kiss me goodbye, I'm defying gravity". I've always thought it works so well and Rachel only used to do it rarely on her last London run. It sounds like Elphaba is starting to gain more confidence and have a little more self belief. Love little things like that.

Do we know which performances Rachel will be doing W/C 26th December? And if not, when is it likely we will find out?

The actual latecomers point for Wicked is during What Is This Feeling, when all the other students come on stage - so I'm surprised they let people in before that! This rule was certainly not in place yesterday. Although if they had been bringing them in all at once during WITF then it would have been worse. It wasn't big groups of people, mainly couples but all the same irritating. The ushers were very hot on phones and cameras. I saw them asking quite a few people to stop or delete pictures/videos.

I just wanted to add my more detailed thoughts from yesterday... It is the first time I have seen Wicked in just over 2 years when I saw Kerry Ellis. Admittedly, I felt I needed some time away from the show as it felt pretty tired and Kerry was very disappointing. Now that Rachel is back in London for a short stint, I couldn't miss out. I was sat towards the back of the Circle which was fine as that's all I could afford for my ticket - I paid £30. I've sat in the circle many times for Wicked and I actually really like it from up there. Suzie Mathers as Glinda - She was a fantastic Glinda, potentially even my favourite I've seen in London. She was fun, refreshing and just seemed to have a 'glow' about her whenever she was on stage (and it wasn't just the spotlight!). Her vocals were absolutely beautiful from the moment she came down in the bubble and I particularly liked her 'Thank Goodness'. Oliver Savile as Fiyero - I wasn't expecting Oliver to be on as he had been off on Friday night with food poisoning so it was a nice surprise. My favourite Fiyero I've seen (and somewhat of an unpopular opinion) is Matt Willis because I loved the rock edge that he brought to the role. Oliver however was great and possibly my new favourite. He was very easy on the eye as well which certainly helps matters, especially THAT costume in the first act. Idriss Kargbo as Boq - I enjoyed his take on Boq after hearing mixed reviews about him. He was the best Boq I've seen in terms of vocals - great voice. Helen Woolf as Nessa - A brilliant, feisty Nessa. Her WWOTE was brilliant. Actually, Helen, Rachel and Idriss were all great in this scene together. Kerry Enright as Morrible - Really great performance. I really felt her 'turn' in the second half and her confrontation of Glinda on the stairs during March of the Witch Hunters was brilliant. Mark Curry - A good performance, I'd prefer a stronger vocal, I thought he was a little quiet in places. And finally, Rachel Tucker as Elphaba - I have made no secret that Rachel is my ultimate Elphaba, she was my first back in 2010 and for me personally is absolutely unbeatable. She was just fantastic yesterday afternoon from the moment she ran onto the stage. I was a little annoyed at myself for wishing the first couple of scenes away because I was dying to hear her sing TWAI. I had truly forgotten how incredible powerful her voice is, it's insane. She just switches it on all of sudden, it comes from nowhere. Her voice completely filled the theatre during DG and she gave us her signature high F riff plus a great second 'bring me down' riff. My favourite Elphaba song is NGD and I just have no words... riff free but incredible. Her belt is just a forced to be reckoned with. I could hear audience members around me singing her praises after her 3 big songs. Her chemistry with Suzie was really great as well, they make a good partnership. I just wanted to mention the orchestra - they sounded the best they have for ages yesterday or maybe it's because I haven't seen the show for a while. Also, the sound was slightly quiet to begin with in the circle but I felt they cranked up the volume during TWAI and it remained like that for the rest of the show. I need to go back again, maybe twice, while Rachel is still here... One frustration was the amount of audience members who arrived late to the show - I know it can't be helped sometimes, London throws all sorts of unexpected challenges at you when getting around the city but it was really distracting. Some were up to 15-20 minutes late, Rachel was singing TWAI when the final few people were taking their seats. Also, there was 3 children with their uncle in front of me. The boy was very well behaved but the girls must have been about 7 or 8. They played with their hair a lot in the first act which was slightly irritating but in the second act they would not stop whispering to each other and fidgeting in their seats, they didn't seem to fully understand the story line. I didn't want to say anything though as they were quite young and seemed to enjoy the show for the most part and their uncle was rather good looking!

Yes, definitely Oliver.
I'm now on the train waiting to set off - a flying visit today! This was the first time I've been to the theatre alone and I'm so glad I have done it. It looked like it was almost a full house judging by how packed the circle was, just a few seats here and there remained empty.
I will give more detail later but it was a fantastic performance - Rachel and Suzy are wonderful together. Still buzzing about Rachel's performance... her acting is beautiful and her voice is just draw dropping. After she had finished singing TWAI, I heard a few people around me go 'woah' and the same again after DG.

Interval at today's matinee... bloody hell can Rachel Tucker sing. So SO good to hear that wonderful voice again. Where the hell does she get that power from?!
A pretty riff free performance so far but she did just crack out her high F riff and a wonderful second 'bring me down'.
Really enjoying the show after not seeing it for just over 2 years.
Oliver Savile is very easy on the eye...

And Kerry Enright is on now until next Wednesday who is quite frankly, one of the best Morribles I've ever seen! You're in for a treat there too! Make sure you let us know what you think of the show seeing as it's been a while since you've both been! I worded my response badly - I meant I haven't seen Rachel perform at all since 2012 But having said that my last trip to Wicked was in 2014 to see Kerry. Will definitely report back... can't wait!

How is the show selling at Matinees on Saturdays at the moment? I don't have much money but I'm considering coming down to London this weekend but I was going to buy a £30 ticket for the circle. Could I get better at the box office on the day? Day seats are always the best seats for quite a low price. But there's no guarantee you'll get a ticket if many other people are waiting in line. If you're a student though, you can just go at any hour on the day of the performance and they'll give you the best available seat for £30 if you can show a valid student ID. That's one ticket per student ID though, so if you're not going alone you have to consider that. I am going alone but unfortunately not a student anymore! I wanted see Rachel before Christmas and this weekend seems the best, if a little last minute. I won't be in London early enough to rely on day seats though unfortunately... I'll have to have a think!

I've noticed Rachel sings "No good deed goes unpunished..." but sings it higher than she used to towards the end of he song... is that how she's been asked to sing it by Wicked or is it a riff? Either way I've always thought it works really when when I've heard other Elphaba's do it so I'm glad Rachel does it.
Hoping to catch the Wednesday matinee week after next!!

Suzie has ended NOMTW on the optional high note here in London! Didn't enjoy that - needs some vibrato otherwise it just sounds like a scream And a slightly flat one at that.

There is a new audio of Rachel from yesterdays matinee on YouTube. Now, call me boring, but she sings Defying Gravity with minimal riffs and my god it sounds fantastic. Elphaba's riff so much these days that when they go back to basics it just sounds so refreshing. I know riffs are loved by fans of Wicked but really, the score just doesn't need them, it's so powerful as it is.

I am happily gonna put forward the suggestion, I want to see Carrie Hope Fletcher play the role. And not for fangirl purposes or anything like that, I just want to see her do it! The only reason I would ever want her to play the role would be so that I could save money by not seeing the show! Sorry, don't rate her at all, and she is the reason why I despair at the invention of social media sometimes! I agree. It's always kicking off on her Twitter - which I admit is hilarious to watch as she over reacts to everything and is so passive aggressive to anybody who disagrees with her. I'm not sure she has the vocal strength for Elphaba 8 times a week tbh.

I knew she was going to go on today, I had a feeling!
From the audios, last night sounded great. I am of course a huge fan of Rachel and I'm not really getting the 'forced' vibes that people are describing her vocals as. Yes, it wasn't her BEST PERFORMANCE EVER (!!!!!!!!) but I think she just sounded a little tired rather than forced.

With this weeks excitement I can see both Rachel and Suzie calling out of at least one show to rest! Yes I was thinking the same, I thought Alice might debut at today's matinee.

Are you really that surprised? I'm not, I don't know what everyone was expecting. I would have loved to have been there though. After what they did at Miss Saigon 25th and Les Mis 30th, most of us were expecting something else. To be fair they are much bigger landmarks though. I feel like London has had more of a fuss made out of its 10th anniversary than Broadway did anyway.
