Tickets aren't exactly flying out. I wonder if they can fill Manchester's Opera House before the run starts? Sir Ian is a huge name, but 4 hours of Shakespeare at an atypical start time might be too much of an ask. We shall see!

Anyone with membership (who already can access the booking as I understand) could comment on the price bands please? Screengrabs posted earlier in thread with prices

4 hours is stated on the Mcr booking page, and those Saturday times are not on the same Saturday. One Saturday is a matinee and one an evening performance.

I was ready to book tickets for a few people and they’ve all dropped out at hearing the running time!! 😂 I quickly booked a ticket for opening night in Manchester without looking at the times and regretting it now. If you’d prefer the matinee you have free ticket exchange with ATG+ remember

Gone for a Saturday as I can’t be sure I can be there for 18:30 on a weeknight. £75 centre front row! Can’t wait! Although with it being four hours and on front row, can’t sleep! In Wimbledon, it's even better value at £55 for the front row stalls. Second row there is £75. Ah, you can get £55 front row in Manchester if you do opening night and go for the end of the row, but as a previous poster said 18:30 is not feasible for most people working that day.

Considering this is a fundraiser to help out the Hope Mill, struggling now after doing some brilliant work in the early days, your comment is plain rude. Is it though? Hope Mill has always been very hit and miss for me (more miss than hit) and if you're going to do a fundraiser surely you want to get someone who's going to knock it out the park? Jodie Prenger is good fun for many things, but as Rose? It's a solid no from me. Well IMO the Hope Mill has been such a vital addition to Manchester’s theatre scene. And let’s not write off JP before she’s even learnt the role! And this isn’t London - Manchester can’t attract a powerhouse name at the drop of a hat.

Posts moved to new thread as it’s a new production. Hate this artwork! Yeah it’s not great, but half price opening night is back on ATG+ £23 front row!

Yeah the 241 opening ticket offers with ATG hardly ever happen now. And the £60 seats (ie the best ones) weren’t even eligible for the £10 off!

I wish they gave this to a director who can actually, you know, direct. I’m not sure we need it as a stage show at all!

Elaine Paige reviewing it on her show now. She's very enthusiastic about it! Called it a tour de force... with a little sly dig at ticket prices. But EP is lovely and enthusiastic about everything she talks about. She’s not going to rubbish any show when she champions all theatre! 😜 I’m hoping to get to see this at some point. It sounds amazing!

JSO are selfish brats. Publicity on the front page doesn’t turn into any sort of useful action. If it does, I will eat my words, but I’ve yet to see any progress from their stupidity.
And re the ‘my night OUT!’ comment, many people don’t live on the theatre’s doorstep. A huge amount of effort and planning may have gone into some people’s trips. It’s not *just* a night out.
And I know a theatre visit is insignificant compared to our planet but that doesn’t excuse people interfering in this way. Especially when it doesn’t bloody achieve anything!
We’re not stupid. We don’t need awareness being raised. That’s not the answer.
Completely selfish brats last night.

Those audience reactions. It’s brilliant. And depressing. You couldn’t write it. Do they know what they’re watching? The themes and content? Made me roar. Good on JSO. It may affect one evening or one drive, but for the price we’re all going to pay in the future, a little deviation from what was planned, and a moment to confront what the bigger importance is; just vital. And they’re number one on BBC News so they’re still getting publicity in the right ways. I’m sure if they could have infiltrated the Tories (as they have done many times before) at their rally, they would have. Do we know if there’s footage of Cameron reacting to the news? He’d be PURPLE! But this has achieved nothing! Publicity and attention for a few brief moments will not change anything. If you think that it’s justified at the expense of ruining theatre for all these people, then I really think you’re on the wrong forum.

Did these idiots buy tickets or did they invade the theatre? If the latter, it’s worrying re security.

I care passionately about the environment and our future, but I detest everything these people do. They are achieving nothing they want and if anything make me care LESS!

Wasn’t it more the Hope Mill is moving away from staging their own musicals there? They’ll still host touring productions, I believe.

I was supposed to go last night but I’m not well at the moment so had to dip out, however I thought I’d give you the feedback from my group… brace yourselves. “Brutal editing on the dancing and reconfigured lighting could have made a massive difference” ”Mary - lame. Like something from Britain’s Got Talent” ”Julian Clary was an embarrassment though some audience members seemed to love it” “Was trying to be ‘street’ but looked more like it was from the local comprehensive” ”Costumes from Primark hoodies and joggers department” There’s more but that gives you the gist. I don’t think they were fully on board. Not disappointed that I couldn’t make it after that! Were they expecting something totally old-fashioned and literal?! I’ve just seen this and it’s brilliant. So well done, powerful and some real spine-tingling moments. With respect to your group, they’re wrong! 😜

I tried this but after about fifteen minutes it seemed so naff and forced. Certainly not naturalistic. Maybe I should give it another go.

Loved this tonight in Manchester! What a performance with astonishing bursts of energy throughout!
As for the audience, I’m not sure if some thought they were watching the telly. Drifting in and out of the auditorium. Such disrespect. One or two people desperate for the toilet… okay… but there was a constant stream of people in and out. Why?!

Saw last night and thought was excellent, particularly the second half. Dreadful audience behaviour, I thought. Bottles clanking, inappropriate laughter. And who guzzles their way through a bottle of red at a serious play?
And some seemed to find it a comedy. Laughter at inappropriate places, repeated laughter at the c-word, applause after the song… maybe it’s just me but I felt watching in silence more fitting.

My immediate reaction to that is 1. Why would he be talking about Cinderella in a tennis commentory, even if his daughter was in it. 2. Who cares what Andrew thinks about ANYthing other that tennis, and he was never any cop at that either! Didn’t see it but ALW was in the crowd on Centre Court so that would have prompted it.
