Shane Richie is starring in The Entertainer which is touring from 27 August, so I would have thought any significant extension of his role as Hugo in ... Jamie beyond the beginning of May is unlikely. He was talking on Radio 2 earlier this morning, saying he only has another six weeks to go, so no, he won't be extending.

The worst show I ever saw was "The Opinion Makers", with Daniel Boys, Mel Giedroyc and Julie Atherton, back in 2013. It was supposed to be a musical comedy, set in an advertising agency in the 1960's I think. It was absolutely dire, and after the interval I was the only one left in my row. The cast tried their hardest, bless them, but to no avail. On leaving the auditorium, I overheard someone saying they'd never left in total silence before - usually people were chatting about the show, the performances, the music etc, but on this occasion zilch. It was performed in Colchester and Derby, I believe, and presumably died the death after that.

Sheridan's response to this is interesting (sorry, I'm a Luddite, can't show you the tweet), in which she says, "Just a side note - it was gonna be played by a man ....... "
Now, does she mean for the forthcoming show, before she was cast, or does she mean when the show was originally written?

It's a bit desperate having posters on the Drury Lane saying "School of Rock, three minutes walk away". 😂😂 I can understand that. I went on Wednesday, and yet again managed to get lost while trying to find the theatre. I don't have problems anywhere else, but obviously have a mental block about finding this one. To me it looks like a car park!

Well, I missed that, because I definitely heard the announcement at the start about NOT filming. Or maybe I'd been distracted by the young lady a few seats down (sadly just too far away to admonish) who spent half the show on Facebook.

At today's matinee of School of Rock, I could not believe the number of people filming the closing scenes - no pretence at all, phones held blatantly in the air. I had a lovely view through several screens. There were several school parties present, and they were well behaved - it was the adults doing the filming.

Louise Redknapp will re-join the show from monday 25TH march, until 29th June Drat. I'm going on the 27th. Was hoping she'd need another week to recuperate.

At the interval of Waitress matinee today, older man to teenage girl this afternoon: "Sorry to stare, but you have the perfect face for drawing - I'm a artist". That's a new one! Just to elaborate, she wasn't alone, and the conversation went no further. I really hope he literally did say "I'm a artist" simply because it amuses me for some reason. And that before speaking, he did the holding-up-a-thumb thing and that using-both-hands-to-form-a-frame routine. And was wearing a smock and floppy hat. He really did say that! Sadly no smock, no floppy hat, nor any other artistic accessories. The young lady in question was with a female friend (who obviously didn't aspire to the level required by our hopeful Van Gogh) - both girls giggled a bit, and he said no more.

When Denise Van Outen injured her foot prior to going into Chicago, we were given to believe she would be joining the show once recovered. She never did.

That sort of evening when you sort of recognise your waiter in a new restaurant, and you ask where he worked before, and after a brief chat you realise that he was the lead in the fringe play you saw two weeks ago... That happened to me a few years ago. Chatting to the waiter, he said he was an actor between jobs. Asked what he'd been in, anything I may have heard of - it turned out he'd been a child star in Byker Grove. Googled him when I returned home and found he'd subsequently been in loads of TV programmes (and not just supporting roles) which I had watched and enjoyed. Oops.

Adam Linstead at Fiddler on the Roof this afternoon. As he's joining the show when it transfers, I presume he was seeing what's in store.

I remember a job interview (many years ago), whereby they created a scenario and I had to role play accordingly. Basically, I was left in a room, with a laptop and phone, and given various tasks. I was told at some point the phone would ring, at which point I was to answer it, in character, and react accordingly. Unfortunately, a technical problem arose with the laptop, so I had to use said phone to summon assistance (which was definitely not part of the plot). This took a while to sort out but the problem was finally resolved, and the phone duly rang, basically to say fictitious boss had been delayed abroad and therefore all meetings I had set up would have to be rearranged. I set about this, only then to be summoned out of the room, saying I had failed the test because I had run out of time! They completely ignored the fact that the technical blip had delayed all my efforts. Oh well, I never wanted to work there anyway.

How could you miss them? Two stalls in the crowded lobby. The VIP pie table downstairs outside the toilets (!) and vendors on every level Nope. Missed them all. It was very crowded, though, so my aim was to get through as quickly as possible.

Btw, i meant to say, they only had the apple pies available on Wednesday! I was so disappointed! I was going to go for one of the other flavours. Anyway, i still bought one, it was quite nice but not really a pie is it. Some bits of apple in cinnamon with a tiny bit of crumble at the bottom. Still, i like to have the full experience when i see shows and getting a pie at Waitress seemed the thing to do. The jar is nice little keep sake as well. Oh yes I forgot about this. I really wanted a salted caramel, I’d heard so many good things about them but got an apple one anyway to try. I thought it was nasty! What a waste of £6, worst part of the night to be honest 😂 I didn't even see the pies? Where were they? I was very disappointed. The foyer smelt delicious, though.

I saw it this afternoon and loved it! I didn't find anything offensive that others have mentioned. After KMP's She Used to be Mine, several people leapt to their feet - at least six in front of me, and I was only in the 4th row (have to say, it was very, very good). Full standing ovation at the end. Stalls and Dress Circle looked full, but couldn't see if Upper Circle was open.
It seems to have a cult following already. Several people "in the know" and whooping at (to them) appropriate moments.

At Wicked this afternoon, a man in my row decides the best time to visit the loo is in the middle of "For Good", disrupting several of us on his way out. To be fair, he did sit in a vacant seat at the end of the row on his return, but it was his comment to his other half when she rejoined him at the end that took the biscuit. "Best time to go, nothing much happens during the songs". I give up!

Just out of curiosity, had the stage at The Phoenix been raised in any for this production, or is this the normal height of the stage? I was in the second row, and thought the stage very high. I remember I sat in the front row for The Girls, but don't recall it was as high as this, so maybe it has 'gone up' a bit.

for me Enjolras is one of the most important roles, so i will and cannot book before knowing not liking booking for maybe getting an Enjolras that will be as terrible as Nick Jonas was as Marius Oh I wish you hadn't mentioned Nick Jonas. I still have nightmares.

I was at today's matinee too. Again, while I thoroughly enjoyed it, I was not blown away. I went in cold, not having heard a single note of the music or having a clue about the songs - I don't think this was an issue, as I never do listen beforehand (I usually familiarise myself with the story first, though). I was quite happy to join in the almost 100% standing ovation as the performances were terrific - it was just on the emotional front it didn't grab me. I wish I knew why.

I was at the stage door of Les Mis when she was Eponine (I was waiting for someone else). Precisely two people were waiting to see her - although to be fair it was a weekday matinee and her fans were probably all at school!

I see a good musical several times, as seeing it again you always pick up on things you missed the first time and maybe the second time round. A good musical should stand the test of time. I have even liked a show more on the second visit, as you are more familiar with the score and so more perspective. Completely agree. There are a couple of shows I revisit frequently, and each time I go it's like greeting an old friend, and I settle down in my seat and let the music take me away. And yes, it's great to pick up on details or something I may have missed the first time around. Then it progresses to performances, little nuances that may be different from how I remembered them, and so on. I have lost count of the number of times I have seen my favourites, but I don't see them to the exclusion of other shows. I am always open to a new favourite!

OK, deep breath .....
Billy Elliot (I loathe politics being rammed down my throat) Sweet Charity (so bored, to my shame I fell asleep!) Little Shop of Horrors (what on earth was that all about?) Company (agree with other people's views) Blood Brothers (hated adults playing the kids)
I'm sure there will be more if I can dredge them from the depths of my memory!
