My big regret was only seeing 'Ghost' once!! I may have one or two sherries on a stagey Sunday and may have acted out along playing all the parts to the cast recording home alone - Suspend My Disbelief/I Had a Life & Rain/Hold On ;-)

Jeez, Sandy Duncan only lasted about 4 performances on Broadwsy, thst must be some kind of record?! Do we know why? Health related? That could be a record but I wonder if there is any performer that has just done 1 show?

Well I'm a little on the fence with 'Beyond the Fence' there were some neat music numbers (some half worked & some of the lyrics need work), some good characters (if a little too stereotypical) but I don't see it being a big runaway hit!! It lacks in story & conflict (although it's about conflict!) the ending was quite conventional & it should have been braver - interesting to see new work like this but it was no 'Made in Dagenham'

So after those reviews & the talk on here, I went in expecting a disaster of a show but instead had an enjoyable evening.
Now this was my first hearing the score or seeing the piece so have nothing to compare it to but I loved how campy & breezy it all was. Yes the special effects are cheesy, lots of lasers & Fire (I was in stalls row D) & could feel the heat, once or twice I got rather nervous with the ensemble being so close to the flames!
It's definitely a pop rock concert rather than a musical, the ensemble & the orchestra are definitely the players doing most of the work but the stunt cast voices were in fine form & the big surprise of the night was Daniel Bedingfield..he nailed his big song in Act 2 & got the biggest cheer at curtain call.
Went to this last minute, low expectations but enjoyed the spectacle & the cheese!!

I'm quite enjoying it's campy charm thus far (no I haven't had a pinch of wine), granted I'm on a freebie...will report back later!!
lots of fire, can feel the heat in row D!!!

I have a few but thankfully fringe & some am dram is filling in some gaps!!
I went to see a AM 'Chess' last year with mother in Windsor & whilst it wasn't the best production values I enjoyed the score & now obsessed with the cast album so I need to see this as a proper big production

Well I now find myself going along to this tonight!
Such a mixed response..I'm not quite sure what I'm letting myself in for!!
I do not know the recording at all...I've only ever seen the Tom Cruise movie.
Well will be a interesting one indeed!!

Been listening to the cast recording this morning and the score is growing on me. If Mountains Were Easy To Climb being a favourite! I tried but got bored, think it's more a show you need to see than listen to the cast recording without the show unlike 'Finding Neverland' which I just loved and got my imagination going on how it translates onto the stage!

Going with my theatre buddy Warren, to the preview Matinee on Sat 23 April.
Will be going bind, don’t know a note of the score and haven’t read the synopsis or reviews from previous productions – I have never heard of this!!
Looking forward to enjoying the venue pre-show for the 1st time (OK so a week-day matinee of ‘Carrie’ was hardly a scum or a large queue but still)

So looking forward to seeing this in June....I actually remember a family outing when come up town to London (when I was a lad I lived in the burbs) and went to see 'Aladdin' at Odeon Leicester Square and they had a pre-show (I recall 'Prince Ali') on the stage there before the movie...was magical being a wee kid and we went to DisneyWorld Florida around that time and 'Aladdin' was the main movie at the time so be waiting over 20 years to see this on the stage!!

If you need to go on a specific date then of course you have to book but if like me you were just curious to see the show and not set on dates then keep entering the online lottery, it’s pretty good as it is for the next week and you find out on the Thursday or Friday so can plan it in.
I used to enter week after week (not every week of course aka holidays or stuff on) and then luck came my way and I went – I enjoyed it on the front-row, not a show I would go see again but glad I caught it!
Depends if you have patience with the lottery and of course you could enter it every week for a whole year and not get lucky but it’s worth being in it to win it!!!

I really liked that little YT number....I think Carrie is a talented performer and I was most impressed at the 30th - Be interested to see what she does next.

Closing nights are bittersweet - the atmosphere is pretty wonderful and can get a bit emotional at the end.
Even at the recent 'Legally Blonde' at 'Upstairs at the Gatehouse' there was a good atmosphere throughout the closing show, I know it wasn't a big production but was sad they did not do a speech at the end but they were downstairs in the pub afterwards and my friend and I had a really lovely chat with Jodie Jacobs!
I can really imagine that 'Miss Saigon' with have a real buzz to it....'Made in Dagenham' was magical - it truly had the audience in that were it's fan - big cheers after each number, the cast really went for it and the moment was 'Stand Up' with the whole theatre standing up for the whole number - it was dreamlike and then the speeches.
I have loved having this show back on the West-End, seen 6 times....Goodbye 'Miss Saigon' on your final West-End flight (for now) off back to Broadway you go!!

Well Darius Campbell is rather dashing & brilliant in 'Funny Girl' & with that ending in October that would be perfect timing!! He's Scottish too & just imagine him with a beard aka Matthew Morrison lads ?

Surely Palladium has to be in the running for this one? Or wouldn't it fit the stage? Drury Lane a possibility if not? Listening to the cast recording for the first time now. Report back on your thoughts on the cast album Ade………I was sold on the first listen and got teary eyed at the final number (I was on the DLR!!)

OK I will admit I am going off-topic but it is connected to Disney and we no longer have the Off-West End section but I finally got around to seeing a production at 'Arts Educational School' in Chiswick last night and it was a glorious production of 'Beauty and the Beast'.
I have seen this on the West-End and on Broadway but last night the whole production (from the choreography, direction and performance) out-shown those productions. I was in awe on the clever uses of staging and direction when a production does not have half the budget a big professional show does, it was also free to be less Disney ('Gaston' had lot more adult themes going on with the ensemble in the tavern. 'Gaston', 'Be Our Guest' and 'Human Again' were the big highlights. It will certainly be a theatre highlight of 2016 for me.
I really hope they snap on the rights for 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame'.
Anyways back to 'Frozen';-)

First time I saw Bend It Like Beckham a couple turned up 15 minutes late and disrupted everyone but then they decided to open and eat a huge bag of cheesy Doritos! Why would anyone think that's ok in a theatre?! It's always latecomers that do this!! No doubt late because they've been stockpiling snacks down the local Tesco's and hiding it in their jackets!

I went to this on Tuesday and absolutely loved it!
I was sat on the front sofa on stage and what a fantastic experience (I took my stepmother - Christmas present) and she didn't know until we got to the theatre! I don't think I've ever been to this theatre before, it was amazing to see how small it inside and you could really see the audience throughout the whole show (yes I totally didn't feel like I was audience being on stage and all!) and at one moment I did spot a bad behaviour (a phone was checked, grr most annoying).
What to say but a wonderful show singing Burt's amazing songs in beautiful and exciting ways, the cast had energy and was a joy from start to finish! I really wish there hadn't been at interval and it broke the magic somewhat but can understand the reasoning for some revenue generation.
This is a show that should go out on tour, it's simple and rather perfect! I cannot wait for the cast album now!
So happy I saw this prior to ending it's West-End run on Sunday!

I just looked it up, it’s only on for 1 week at Blackpool Winter Gardens so I too expect it’s not a professional tour but amateur theatre company. I could be wrong of course, it’s out on tour in Australia currently.

I’m planning on going to ‘Evita’ at Bridewell too. Been impressed thus far at that venue with musicals (‘Sunset Boulevard’ & ‘Sunshine on Leith’) and very much enjoyed (twice) ‘Legally Blonde’ at ‘Upstairs at the Gatehouse’. The ‘Bar Mitzvah Boy’ is also on the list to go see along with ‘Made in Dagenham’ booked for May up in Wolverhampton at the Grand!!
