Although I strongly disagree with it, I understand Parsley's stance (never thought I'd find myself saying that ) in a self interest, directly effected way because of the taxation proposals. Anyone voting Tory who isn't or aren't likely to be effected by that I just don't get though, and can only explain away in by inheritance voting or believing the crap the msm media feed them. I am a true believer in nationalisation or not for profit operation of essential services. Businesses which are primarily machines for making profit have no place in health, education, public transport or utilities. As for a Corbyn being a terrorist sympathiser, good grief. I very much see him as a peace maker, he tries to bring people together not by sympathising with people's stances but at least acknowledging that they feel they've got a valid argument even if he doesn't agree with it. This helps to get conversations started. And yes he did meet loyalists too. skwawkbox.org/2017/05/25/world-exclusive-corbyn-mowlams-envoy-to-ira-and-loyalists/If we reject his new realigned Labour Party, which unfortunately polls seems to indicate we are going to, I despair for the future of this country. How much more Orwellian can things get?

This is the first year we aren't going since 2010. Had a quick look at the programme and nothing screams out at me.
Our usual planning involves a thorough trawl through the programme highlighting everything that we are interested in then transferring that onto a spreadsheet. We then narrow down and narrow down, then make a timetable. Edmin, it's a fine art lol.

An all black cast?? I think this is a disgrace and PC blind colour casting gone too far. What about an all white cast of The Lion King? Madness... I'm sorry but it has to be said. No it doesn't, it really doesn't at all.

Horrified, the arena is the sister venue to where I work and I have friends and colleagues who would have been working on the show.
My deepest sympathies lie with those injured, the loved ones of those killed and those still missing.
I despair for the state of the world. There isn't any obvious solutions to the hatred that causes such atrocities, but adding to the hatred by calling out entire sections of the population will not help.

Scrapbook Pritt-stick No life Same. The benefit of being a couple that watch most things together is that there is usually two tickets, one to go in the scrapbook and one to go in the programme that we always buy. I hate print at home tickets with a passion!

I am more interested in seeing All About Eve on stage than the star. I am sure I have seen her in a film or two in the past but nothing springs to mind. I think it will be a big seller similar to when Dame Angela Lansbury or Dame Helen Mirren were last in London on the stage.
Great film though, if they could get George Sanders involved then I'm in.
Presumably a joke? he died 45 years ago. As Van Hove cast the dead before? i suppose it would count as avant-garde

Out of work I pretend to write plays (I write them then my crippling self doubt/functioning alcoholism throttles my creativity so I burn them) or spend my life on a theatre forum that feeds into my personal hatred. I do this too, but don't burn them just let most of them fester unfinished on my pc like open wounds mocking me. For money I'm a House Manager at a concert hall.

Saw this again tonight and loved it again. The singing by all of the leads is absolutely fantastic. the lighting design really struck me too. In Heavan Can Wait it's absolutely beautiful. I'm a sucker for a bit of lighting. I agree, loved it more the second time. gutted that i cant make a third . The lighting design is stunning, especially as you say in Heaven can wait, made me cry lol.

Gosh we were all there weren't we? haha I really enjoyed if not quite loved it. Really liked all the cast, though Maxwell Caulfield's voice was actually fine for the character he was playing. I'd never seen Arthur Darvil before and now consider myself very much a fan. Really liked Sam Barks. Simon Lipkin can do no wrong in my eyes, always a joy to watch. Was pretty special to have JRB conduct and briefly play the ukulele, then the piano at the end, wow! It's a really fun show with a excellent score, i'd definitely like to see a fully staged production, if only for the flying Elvi

To be fair, it was pretty much a shoo-in for 5 stars from the MEN, i'm not sure they always bother even going to watch the new shows at the Palace and Opera House. If it originates in Manchester it must be AMAZING!! Personally I'd say it is a strong 4 star show. Staging, direction and performances all turned up to 11, book erm well.... but it serves as enough of a hook for the spectacle.

I believe WS did it back in the 80s with Kelly Hunter... James Dreyfuss? Will Young?? He did the first tour of the Norris production too, with Sam Barks playing Sally. She was great, he was shocking. Lots of to the audience schtick which was more suited to a 1980s end of a pier show.

Booked. I've seen it before but I imagine this time I will really feel Maggie's frustration. Perhaps to the point of doing a bit of yowling from the grand Circle myself Those ears! and i'm watching it the day before Angels in America, so between him and Russell Tovey i'm gonna be in ear lovers heaven haha.

A little sad to admit, but yeah I feel the same way. Almost to the point of crossing my fingers for an all Shakespeare season on announcement day.

Went over to Sheffield last night to watch this. Really enjoyed it and on the cusp of loving it. My head was filled with it when I woke this morning to the point that I might have to go again next week. John McCrea is fabulous as Jamie, undeniably engaging even at Jamie's least likeable moments. Yes you could say he seems a little stereotyped at times but we all know young(and not so young ) gay men like that. Stereotypes come from repetion not invention. He holds the audience in his hands, you are right there with him feeling everyone of Jamie's highs and lows. The rest of the cast are excellent too. Lucie Shorthouse and Josie Walker as Pritti (his Best Friend) and Margaret (Mum) particularly notable. For me Margaret's character was quite reminiscent of Mum in Taboo, her songs having a feel of Talk Amongst Yourself from that show. I also really liked Luke Baker in the small but pivotal role of Dean. The set is very effective but I was slightly baffled by some seemingly extravagant bench automation. Love the choreography, so much energy in the group numbers which really adds to the show. It's not perfect. Some of the songs rely far too much on lyric repetition and there is one song particularly that although I liked it's imagery didn't work for me at all. Overall though, an excellent infectious show with a lot of heart that's definitely deserving of life beyond the Crucible.

Brilliantly said Baemax. I do sometimes wonder why some of the people on here belong to a theatre forum when they seem to take every production announcement as a personal affront to them.

Is it also suitable for fans of Lego? Or of Movies? Just about, haha. It's quite fun but a bit frenetic and tries to hard in mostly obvious ways. Enjoyable if you like that kind of thing. There are definitely better films on at the cinema right now.

Busy week this week, making up for the fact I've only been to the theatre twice so far this year. Across the Pennines to Sheffield on Wednesday for Everybody's Talking About Jamie then down to London on Thursday for a few days to see Half a Sixpence, Dreamgirls, Death Takes a Holiday and like seemingly everyone else on here The Wild Party on Saturday eve.

Two drinks afterwork last night turned into far too many drinks, so I've been (deservedly) suffering a little today. Work loomed scarily large, but when I arrived i was greete dwith the news that tonights concert has been cancelled, and therfore my shift truncated somewhat. Great news for me, though I do of course feel sorry for the disappointed patrons. Watched the Lego Batman movie slast weekend, wa quite dispointed by it, entertaining but not a patch on The Lego Movie which I loved. 'I've just seen your face on Songs of Praise'...better that than Crimewatch I guess! Are we to assume then Emi you have been on Crimewatch previously? haha
