So, looking at the latest email this afternoon, it looks like those who booked tickets for POTO prior to 27 July will be invited to a priority booking bunfight on 30 April rather than have their seats reassigned. I may be wrong, but am reading between the lines as there has been no other communication regarding prebooked tickets. Any other first-nighters heard anything, or are you in limbo too? I took it that today’s email was a wider one and not linked to our booking. Hopefully we’ll hear soon!

Hopefully this will mean some concrete reopening news soon. They're reopening on the 7th August...is that not public knowledge yet?! I bought tickets the other day 🤣🤣 Still on sale from 23/06 so if it’s public knowledge nobody told the Box Office 😂

I wish I could remember where I saw the Hamilton August reopening advertised ... Tickets were off sale until then for a while and I think some bloggers jumped on that. Now totally off sale and I think delayed further. Waiting for an announcement.

Is the first show back a wednesday matinee or evening show? I can't find a schedule. But I would love to be there for the first show. Evening. (I’ve had the evening about my Return to Oz package from the charity sale)

Seems odd to start on a Wednesday . Makes sense to wait until September, as then all adults will have been offered a vaccination A lot of shows are restarting midweek I think they are waiting as late as they can but still having a chance to bed in before the 15th anniversary. A few upset people on Facebook who it seems weren’t told earlier performances were off before this announcement.

Dear Fiyero
It has been announced today that The Phantom of the Opera will now reopen at Her Majesty's Theatre in London on Tuesday 27 July 2021. This may mean that some existing bookings will need to be moved and we will contact any affected customers over the next few days with details of their new performances.
We have temporarily taken all performances off sale whilst we work behind the scenes to arrange ticket exchanges for those customers whose bookings are impacted by the new schedule. The Phantom of the Opera will go back on sale on Tuesday 4 May.
We're contacting all our guests individually, so please bear with us as we work through each booking as quickly and carefully as possible.
You don't need to do anything
We know how much you're looking forward to seeing Phantom, so to make it nice and easy for you, any affected bookings will be moved into an alternative performance.
We understand that bookings may have been made for specific dates and performances and we will do our very best to move any bookings that are impacted.
We’ll be in contact with you very soon to confirm the new performance details, including information about how to exchange your tickets for a new date or obtain a refund should you need to. Please keep an eye on your inbox, junk and spam folders for this email.
Please don't contact us until we've contacted you. On behalf of the producers, we'd like to thank you for booking tickets to see The Phantom of the Opera and look forward to welcoming you to Her Majesty's Theatre very soon.
Thank you for your ongoing support and patience.
With our best wishes,
The LW Theatres Team

I'm looking to book for this and have a budget of £50. Are any of the RV tickets worth a look at? Thanks. I sat in stalls O4 once and it was ok if I sat at an angle. I last saw it sat in Royal Circle F34 and that was fine too, I got it on a deal for 30 quid so may be slightly more than that normally The seats so seem to be renumbered in some areas though!

Coming to Southampton’s Mayflower Studios (formerly Nuffield Southampton Theatres City). I’ve booked a socially distanced pair in the front row. Ages since I’ve seen a nice challenging play. Warning - the bath studio advised not sitting in the front row when I saw it. And I can testify to that Rain poncho or riding helmet needed?

Delayed again
It is now well over a year since the Palace Theatre, alongside the rest of the West End, was forced to shut its doors and we suspended performances of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Whilst it has been the most challenging year for so many of us on so many levels, we are incredibly grateful to all our audience members who have held onto their tickets and supported the production when we needed it most. It is because of your support and dedication that we are able to announce, in line with the UK Government’s roadmap to reopening, that we will be resuming performances of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Palace Theatre from 14th October, 2021.
Within the framework of the Government’s reopening strategy, this date will allow us to safely reunite our extraordinary creative and production teams, actors, stage management, technicians and backstage staff to re-rehearse our spectacular production, and coordinate the most up-to-date health and safety protocols throughout the Palace Theatre to ensure all our patrons and everyone working on stage and off, backstage and front of house, have the best time and feel safe and secure throughout their time with us.
As always we thank you for your understanding and commitment to our production.
We look forward to welcoming you back to British Theatre and to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child from 14th October at the Palace Theatre, when the magic continues on stage!
Sonia Friedman & Colin Callender – Producers of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

I emailed them and they replied in less than an hour to say they will refund me x I’ve done the same and all swapped now. Another show bumped to 2022 though!

I loved it but zoom was rather jittery. Audrey Brisson was criminally underused but her small part (when she wasn’t part of the Lorax puppeteering team) was great. I’d love to take some little people to a live version.

Face coverings required at the OAT. I had to wear one throughout the time I was there. From memory the rule is 2m no masks or 1m+ with masks and this was definitely 1m+ Though remember they have said they may un-socially-distance it if guidance and their desire agree. But yes, last time was masks throughout.

Nice to see there are single seats in the front section this time, with JCS the closest I could get was row J. Similarly nice to get a single bottom price ticket (booked hurriedly to replace Book of Mormon on my September trip) I wasn’t interested when it was announced but FOMO kicked in and I decided I would book it in my next open slot!

Edit to add: the email I got has the wrong performance details on 🤭 Yes, mine too! It’s annoying as I don’t want to go the date they have given me and the form is linked to the wrong booking so I can’t use it.

Based on latest available information and to allow the show to open safely without social distancing, THE BOOK OF MORMON will now start performances from 15th November 2021. This means that the performance you booked for, unfortunately, will not go ahead as scheduled.
Edit to add: the email I got has the wrong performance details on 🤭

Postponed again 😭
Dear Friend,
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of our Autumn production, Nativity! The Musical The continued challenges of COVID-19, with extremely large casts, has forced further delays.
We are working hard to confirm new performance dates and times for this show and we will be in touch with ticket options soon.
Whilst we understand the disappointment this will no doubt cause, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support regarding show postponements and look forward to welcoming you to The REP to experience this show.
The team at Birmingham Repertory Theatre

Waitress is also still on sale at Woking Mon 7 - Sat 12 June with all seats bookable though hardly any sold. Surely not going to happen then so it's disappointing that it hasn't been pulled from the ATG website. ATG sales team were still telling people Come From Away was reopening on 21 June a couple of weeks ago until suddenly yesterday it wasn't, so they are just slow. To be fair that’s how business works sometimes, it is happening until it isn’t! Airlines are a good example of this, when one goes under people always ask why we didn’t know earlier!

Wimbledon is still on sale! This is getting messier! Does anyone know where the new tour dates are confirmed? Eeeeeep. Hot mess. Why being overzealous in announcing? Think about current ticket holders as not fair on them. They emailed today to let me know it’s delayed!

Getting theatres to a rate where a discount booth will be viable will take years. Bollocks. With vaccine passports to get tourists in we'll have theatres full by the end of the year, most likely earlier. While I agree that hopefully things will bounce back quickly I think the agency market will be tricky for a while longer. It seems that theatres want / need a bit more control to enable the social distancing and e-tickets etc... I hope it does come back, I'm booked up for this year but I look forward to future trips where I have my evening sorted and can add something more random in the afternoon, and trust them much more than the other 'official' ticket booths.

Like it or not The Phantom of the Opera which was playing has closed. We are getting a revival, the waters are muddied because it is in the same theatre with no other shows in between. I'm excited to see it, as I would be if the tour came around again. I know it is a shame for the people involved (except the ones at the top getting the profit) but it is happening. Other shows won't be back.

I generally listen to complete albums but also usually start Whistle Down the Wind at I Never Get What I Pray For (skipping The Vaults of Heaven and Overture).
