Anyone heard how Sally Field's first preview on Broadway went? Hope that production transfers to London too.

(oh, and regarding the stage door, I don't know about Cherry Jones but when I walked past the theatre yesterday Michael Esper was chatting with some audience members, and when he left they stuck around waiting...) Thanks. A friend of mine met her on Sat and got a photo with her, said she was lovely. I heard she likes a chat at stage door from a Broadway too. Can't wait to go down in March.

Has anyone met Cherry at stage door? Did she have a good chat?

Here is the video of Whoopi's cameo appearance as the Genie on Broadway for one night only. So funny.

Michael Ball rumoured as Daddy Warbucks for FFS!!! Does the West End really need a revival of this dated show? STRICTLY BALLROOM/BIG/SLEEPLESS COME ON PRODUCERS...WHERE'S THE NEW STUFF??? Cannot see Michael doing this, as it will only be about 2 months before he hits the road with Alfie again. Would only be in it for about a month or so max of an 8 month run. Unless he takes a month or so out.

Bought front row seats for this. Is there a lot of interaction with front row patrons? I presume John holds someone's hand during Best of Times?

Anyone else hoping for Sarah Earnshaw as Sheridan's alternate?

Thought this morning, wouldn't it be great to have Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders as the Ugly Sisters - having been all over the media for the Ab Fab movie? Obviously unlikely to happen but would boost the female lead number up.

Talking of meeting your idols - one Sunday quite a few years ago I was eating outside a fish restaurant in the Lanes in Brighton with friends and two women stopped to look at the menu one being petite, blonde and wearing dark glasses. Having had one too many glasses of wine I said rather too loudly "that woman looks just like Petula Clark!" The woman in question raised her dark shades and said "I AM Petula Clark". I gushed something about her being FABULOUS in Sunset Boulevard which she was appearing at the time. She thanked me with a smile and moved off. I think I put her off eating at the restaurant! I AM Petula Clark, it's the pictures that got small - sorry, couldn't resist.

Are they holding tickets back for this, or has it already sold really well? Was hoping for a decent seat in the stalls, but not much available. First full row is Row L, I think because of the staging... it's not done on a traditional stage but as a bar that the audience sits around. So I think the "stage" will fill quite a few of the rows further forward. I checked the other day and not many tickets have sold since they first went on sale, surprisingly.

I do wonder what kind of audience will go to this... like, when she enters, will there be entrance applause? Was there for Emma Thompson? I hope it is not like the recent Little Shop of Horrors in America where you literally couldn't hear a word of anything Ellen Greene said they went so crazy! This is a more classy show compared to that though I guess haha. A lot of the audience will be Sunset fans or Glenn fans. I think she will most definitely get entrance applause as the dialogue and entrance is made for it. American audiences are a lot worse than UK ones for interrupting songs to clap/cheer. A lot of the time on Broadway when the big numbers start the audience are clapping over the first part of them. I don't think that will be the case here; just entrance applause and after the big songs.

I found this this morning. Audra as Billie Holiday singing a song from the Broadway musical Hamilton. It's so good; I love how Audra completely gets into character. Must have watched it about 10 times today. Can't wait for Lady Day.
