Congrats to Lord Lloyd-Webber on being the first person from the world of the arts and culture to be made a member of the Order of the Garter – the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain.

Really interesting casting choices, not predictable at all. And great singers with Jane, Tosh, and Marisha.

I am guessing the other headliner will be female, as most of the regulars are male. Maybe a female Sheriff, someone like Jennifer Saunders or Joanna Lumley, or a female Maleficent if it’s Sleeping Beauty.

If it is Hugh Jackman then it will probably sell out during the pre-sale.

According to Tim Draxl on Instagram, the cast start rehearsing in the theatre next week. So that’s a whole month of rehearsing at the actual venue.

It’s Robin Hood. I’d also heard a few weeks back that Gary Wilmot has retired from panto and won’t be returning this year. Not sure if there’s any truth in that. Is Hugh Jackman starring?

In seriousness, I was wondering if it could be a clue to the casting. Who are some famous performers who fell in love whilst doing a panto?

I got the feeling she’s not really been mixing with the others as she was hanging by the door in that first video and wasn’t sat down looking at the set with the others. And there are no photos of her from the other cast.

“It’s two weeks before I’m due to make my Broadway debut. I’m midway through packing my suitcase, putting my passport in its cute little holder from Dunelm (maybe after New York I’ll be able to afford a John Lewis one) and I receive a phone call. “Hey Mr Producer!” I sing in the style of Andrea McArdle. I then see my agent is also on the line. I know what it is. They want Jinkx Monsoon to play me on matinees to get a few more bums on seats but I have told them, she can’t do a Brummie accent. “Rob”, I hear, “We are going to have to postpone”. White noise. Like that sound effect when someone gets diagnosed with an illness on Coronation Street. My legs give way and I fall onto the bed (cos I’m dramatic like that). I look at the open suitcase, resigning myself to the fact I will never get my John Lewis passport holder. Four in a Bed’s on the telly. In the space of one phone call, I’ve gone from potential Broadway star and Tony Award winner to unassuming armchair critic of Seaside Shores B&B.”
When Rob was 12 they used to put on shows in the living room. When Rob was 26 their show about putting on shows in the living room was meant to transfer to Broadway. When Rob was 27 this Broadway transfer got postponed. Join Rob as they return to their family home in the Midlands and experience the greatest humbling of their life.
“They’ve come home at last” Nicole Scherzinger, 2023

While we secure the latest and most exciting technologies to ensure the trackside seats are the ultimate Starlight Express experience, we expect these seats will no longer move so we can integrate some of our latest discoveries…”. Sounds suspiciously like VR headsets to me but I could be wrong. I’ve not heard anyone else say that.

Freema seems too much a big name for the nurse role? According to Wikipedia: “The nurse has the third largest number of lines in the original play; only the eponymous characters have more lines.”

Marisha Wallace on CBB: “I hide the fact that I’m insecure some times. I have to be the strong, fierce, amazing woman that you see all the time. But when I’m at home, by myself, I’m scared, afraid of failing - I don’t wanna fail - cus I can’t. I have to take care of my family, I wanna buy my mum a home, I’m not doing it just for me, so that’s a lot of pressure. And I feel like I gave up a lot, like I’m not married, I don’t have kids. And I gave it all up for my dream. Like, I wanted this dream so bad.”

Cheryl Baker said on BBC Breakfast today that the story of “Making Your Mind Up” is being written now and will be heading to the West End.
(No doubt it tells the story of a woman who couldn’t make up her mind whether to pre-order one or two bottles of Bucks Fizz to drink in the interval)

Looks like he’s extended. On X (Twitter) tonight (3 mins ago) someone asked him “Will you be back in Edinburgh this August? Your show last year was brilliant!” And he replied “No I will still be in Les Mis!!! But I am doing that show from Edinburgh at Soho theatre April 23-27”

I remember when Tennant was watching Tate in a play after their first run in Doctor Who, and Who fans heard he was going and bought tickets. And then sang the Doctor Who theme tune etc… during the show. So goodness knows, we may get people singing “Spider-man, Spider-man, does whatever a spider can.” Also, god help the people policing the stage door.
