I do not want to start a long discussion but am very disappointed at the words used by the prev member ( this time tomorrow) about the director, actors all being Indian. I don’t know Indu but Wiki says she was born in Sheffield to Tamil parents. Does she therefore qualify as Indian? I was born in Uganda to parents who had been born in India I have been in UK 50 yrs If I had been an actor on stage, would I also have been referred to as an Indian?

Nothing to do for 10 minutes whilst dinner is being made, so decided to see what’s seats are available tonight. Clicked on DMT site Dear Evan Hansen has a lot of seat availability and it starts in less then an hour. Hamilton has also lots of availability Phantom-lots of availability Les Mis—again lots Couldn’t be bothered to check other shows as this was depressing Why can’t theatres make offers after say 6.45 pm I know some would wait for offers but others would buy in advance for planning purposes ( child minding etc)

Having had a really crappy few weeks at work. I had a day off yesterday to see a couple of shows. London was Sunny, people were smiling and seemed happy and my theatre choices made me realise that theatre really does soothe the soul. For a day at least I felt happy. I love the last sentence. Reminds me of Eugene O’Neill and Tennessee Williams

The above words are heartbreaking as I have seen some of THE most wonderful shows at the RSC

1987 my first trip to Stratford. Stayed there for a whole week Amongst lots of plays I saw Brian Cox in Taming of the shrew, Titus Andronicus and Fashion Fashion was completely sold out so I queued for day seats. Wonderful memories

The director of Much Ado is Roy Alexander Weise. He is also the Artistic director at the Manchester Royal Exchange with Bryony Shanahan The current productions at Royal Exchange are The Mountaintop—selling okay but seats available and Glee and Me—poor ticket sales The next production does not look exciting and nothing announced for 2022
My opinion——surely an Artistic director of a major regional theatre should be doing something at ‘his’ theatre rather then a show 100 miles away
Are there troubles at the Royal Exchange? Can two artistic directors work together Just asking, please don’t shoot me

This pandemic has been an eye opener I used to love going to the theatre In the past I have gone from UK to USA just for theatre shows Now, I live in Manchester so the thought of train travel to London, tube travel, crowds, costs all now seem unnecessary and uncomfortable I hope to keep enjoying walks with my partner and our dog and carry on with the cooking and gardening that I have done Once things have eased my plans for travel will only be to see my family in Nottingham If masks have to be worn in the future, any travel will be in my car but no theatre with masks Regarding theatre——-I have LOVED seeing all the shows, actors and theatres. NT, RSC, Donmar, Almeida, Royal Exchange all hold very special memories. However, at present it feels like I have got theatre out of my system
