Currently, all casting is as originally announced in the programme, with Marisha getting an A5 slip in the programme for her performances. It doesn't credit her as anything other than "at this performance, the role of Effie White will be played by...". I didn't have a slip in my programme when I saw Karen on Monday. Also, there was no announcement so I didn't know whom I'd see until she went on (I've only found the cast list in the interval). Also the Savoy does not have a sign saying who is in the cast, when I pointed this out to an usher I was told to buy a programme....

I wonder which theatre they're planning to put this as well as the other plays, I imagine it'll be somewhere like the Gielgud or the Harold Pinter. Other theatres could be maybe the Garrick or Vaudeville but the season seem to me to appeal to a non West End Audience.

Saw this last night, I liked parts of it. It seemed like the author was trying to be in one sense realistic almost as if they were trying to write a Carol Churchill play, but then got side tracked and got it bloated. Also Ron Cook didn't seem right in his role but others would probably disagree with me.

Disappointed by this. And very slow. Adding to the list of unbelievable moments that others have mentioned - why spend the effort getting three mattresses down to put on the floor by the fire, when there are already two very nice looking sofa things very near it? Illogical. Yes and the cushion's weren't used, that said I did go with the story and the time flew by.

On the plus side a 7pm start and a 9.30 finish. On the minus side, most of the play. Oh well....

Really sad news, agree with Jan, a truly great director two shows he directed at the National that stand out for me would be Mourning Becomes Electra and Flight.

Having seen Emma Rice direct Cymbeline for Kneehigh 10 years ago, and her production of Midsummer Nights Dream I think her approach to both plays was very similar. Not really, her production of Cymbeline didn't use ANY of the original Shakespeare text. Thank you for putting me right. As I recall it was part of the RSC complete works festival....

Sorry I need to say I really like Kneehigh productions but have to say I agree with Oxford Simon. As far as I'm concerned if you want to hear Shakespeare's words don't bother seeing a Shakespeare production directed by Emma Rice. Why she was made artistic director of the Globe is beyond me, but I guess they wanted someone who would shake things up! In my opinion it was a mistake putting her in charge but only time will tell. As for her Midsummer Nights Dream it has been a hit, but I wish she had trusted the text more.

Seems to be two levels of pricing which I can't work out without going through every date - I am in early March after the press night and tickets are £48, £34, £20 and £10 but I picked a random date later in the run and that's £38, £30, 18 and £10. Probably Friday/Saturday premium pricing. The 'behind pillar' seats in stalls all appear to be a tenner, along with the rear sides of the Circle. Row AA is the front row for ''tis show but couldn't find any row AA or A on sale - 'aubergine I was too late but more likely they are in a later release or day seats. 7pm nightly with some Weds and Saturday matinees at 1.30. When I rang the box office I gave them my choice of dates in the middle of the run for weekdays and one was peek and the other wasn't and the box office person didn't know why!

I wonder if Billie Piper would be keen to transfer this, as previously she has been less keen to do a run in the West End

I've not seen this production but have seen several others, and have to say it is a truly magnificent musical. I think the rag stands out as getting the tone wrong, but then they are supposed to be dancing on deck..it does seem very musical comedy. All the other pieces have great dignity and are extremely moving. As I understand it, the ragtime music number has a direct connection to the music played on board the ship, Ragtime was the most popular form of music of the period, and was played with other 'light music' as the ship was sinking.

I saw it yesterday afternoon and really enjoyed it, there were a few empty seats before the show started and a some more after the interval. I reckon its the best play on at the NT at the moment, with Ma Rainy a very close second.

She also said that Gertrude is a thankless part (which makes me wonder why she played it twice) that it sags in the middle and that Hamlet is a virgin.

Theatre Nerd Question: Has any previous artistic director of the Royal Court ever directed two new productions which played full runs at the same time, Upstairs and Downstairs? Having now seen both plays, X might have been better had it been staged in the upstairs theatre.

I see this is off to NY as well, to the Booth Theatre, with Live Schreiber replacing Dominic West. Janet McTeer goes with the production. Liev Schreiber should be good as Valmont, wonder if Elaine Cassidy will transfer or will they get someone else? Really hope Elaine Cassidy does go, she was great

As this is a Marlowe and Colin Teevan Doctor Faustus I notice that this version was staged at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in 2013, when Kevin Trainor was Faustus and Siobhan Redmond played Mephistopheles. The West Yorkshire Playhouse version used stage illusions, and Faustus was a modern-day conjuror.

I don't get the thinking behind transferring productions from the intimate Swan to the cavernous Barbican - there is just such a difference in scale - even before tackling the issue of moving from thrust to pros arch. I do wonder if the RSC have taken leave of their senses. It's been done many times before. Maybe, but can you think of any successful examples? As I recall in the old RSC London days, some Swan shows would transfer to the Pit or a different theatre such as the Mermaid.

I used to like going to the Orange Tree Theatre when it had a Tuesday Matinee. As for Start times I don't really care although 4pm seems too late.

It has taken two years to transfer Love Labour Found and Much Ado About Nothing, I thought these would be dead in the water by now. Good point however they are arriving from Chichester
