Play's I'd like to see again which I saw a few years ago are: Racing Demon, Too Clever by half, Fuenteovejuna, the Rover, Fair maid of the west and Absurd Person Singular.
I'd like to see the Effect again which really should have gone to the West End, another is The Seafarer a play/production which was a hit at the National but never transferred to the West End but did go to Broadway.
I don't recall seeing School for Scandal and having read about how Jim Dale's career changed after he appeared as Scapino, I am interested to see a production of it.
I was looking forward to seeing the Pillowman revival but not sure its happening?

I've just read The Stage review and the whole concept/plotline/ending really does sound very dated in its view of sexuality, and at a time when this is such a live issue. The stage review has the following paragraph: "The Divide raises so many questions. The chief one being had no one actually read it before deciding to put it on? And did they not notice how regressive the whole thing was? Or question whether it was necessary for it to go on for so long? Length alone does not make for event theatre. By the end The Divide feels like a feat of endurance more than anything else".

Totally disagree. Miller was born to play this part and delivers in spades -- the best London Maggie I have seen, which is to say dating back to Lindsay Duncan at the NT opposite the late Ian Charleson (and, later, Frances O'Connor, Sanaa Lathan and probably others I am forgetting). O'Connell is good, too, in easily the play's hardest part, since Brick is almost entirely reactive. Lisa Palfrey's embonpoint is a play in itself ..... Just wanted to say I agree with you, although Lindsay Duncan would still get my vote. I think this is the best cast I have seen in this play and really enjoyed Hayley Squires performance as Mae the other feline in the play

Yes, the production fell short of the script, in my opinion. The physical divide between character and audience should be non existent but it felt like i was being treated as separate rather than part of them, being placed an observer at an objective distance. Maybe that's because these are 'my people' in a way that the well heeled Royal Court audience isn't (however much I am part of it, it never goes away). I wasn't so worried about the characters, maybe as I knew the play anyway, but, as nobody else had mentioned it, I thought the acoustic was just me from where I was sitting (side stalls halfway back). I rationalised it as the acoustcs of the sort of place shown, with the hard surfaces of packed in buildings, but it also added to the relative coldness. I really felt that the play lost something by not being a promenade production, and this meant there was less of an impact. I'm glad to see it again but I can't help thinking it was a better production when I first saw it in 1997

I'm 5ft 7 and always go for front stalls at the Royal Court. Same here Front Row every time or anywhere in the stalls, Circle sometimes feels too far from the stage and has less leg room

How has this play got ANY decent reviews? It's dreadful. Colman aside it's a total waste of time and effort. Actually it's a total waste of HER time and effort more than anyone else's. Implausible, dull and overlong. It felt like it had been written by a school kid. I agree I do feel that I must have seen a different play, as the one I saw was overlong and disappointing.

The usual response of those concerned in the production is that it is all the fault of the audiences, they are too conservative/thick/unimaginative to appreciate the cutting-edge/bold/intellectual production on offer. With this approach walk-outs at the interval then become a badge of honour and an endorsement of the quality of the production. On a general point I wonder if there are just too many theatres in London wanting new plays and not enough playwrights with enough talent to supply them, especially with the Bridge now bagging three or four large-scale high-profile ones every year. Have to agree has there ever been a time when so many theatres are chasing new plays? In my view its got to the stage when even classic plays are actually new plays based on a classic text eg Yerma

Its a shame that its closing, and I do think they got the pricing wrong when it first opened. That said I think it be a success when it goes on tour.

Just received notice that they've cancelled the Wednesday matinees, so I guess the ticket sales hadn't picked up. Was doing this next Wednesday with an evening performance of Ugly Lies The Bone, so may have to try to find something else to justify the train journey to London! Unfortunately means I won't be able to get to this, shame as I really like Greg Hicks I went to yesterday's matinee and it was half full at best, its a shame as Greg Hicks is fantastic in this

I found the same and wondered if fans had already rushed in and booked up the other dates within hours of tix going on sale! Exactly what I wondered, but a bit unusual not to list the other dates but show them as 'sold out' - can't make either of those, so really hoping it's a glitch! All dates seem to be on sale now

Sorry if this is inappropriate, but when Isabella Nefar is naked she seems to be wearing a wig to cover her private parts, which I thought was a bit odd. A merkin (they've been around since the middle ages)!
Thanks not seen one before

Saw the play this afternoon, it has its moments but overall is too long, too much singing and the script is really poor. I was sat in the stalls and missed seeing most of the subtitles.

Tables and chairs and bar stools on stage. Timeout have them at £20 for the first few weeks. probably good enough if it's 100 minutes without an interval The box office told me there are 12 seats either side some seats are round the bar tables while others on bar stools

Last night the upper circle was closed and the box office told me they weren't selling any tickets. It was 100% on sale online when I looked earlier today. Yes indeed, but going on yesterdays experience that's not where you would see the show, my guess is they were not selling any tickets for the upper circle in person on the day in the end I bought a day seat for £20 in the stalls front row.

Oooo damn, anyone wanting to see the show on the cheap, looking at the ATG website, book the Upper Circle tonight, you will no doubt be upgraded! Only 46 seats have been sold up there for tonight! Last night the upper circle was closed and the box office told me they weren't selling any tickets.

Cursed Child is just not a strong production. Yes, it's entertaining, has some solid acting and impressive staging and set pieces, and obviously Potterheads love it, but the script is weak and it's just not really mind-blowing if you're not a Potter fan. Potter is such a popularity leviathan and has such a dedicated fanbase it was practically bulletproof commercially. And theatre awards are pretty notorious for being influenced by fame and commercial success. It's not that I disliked it at all, but it's hardly Jerusalem is it? Jerusalem didn't win best play at the 2010 Olivier's, which says it all about these awards.

Does anyone much care? The Oliviers are too much of an industry puff fix to be taken seriously. They'll need to be renamed again before long. When I went on the NT tour recently, and the guide proudly told how the NT was founded by Laurence Olivier and then responded to the pregnant silence by asking how we all remembered him, he was met with utter bafflement and absence of name recognition from one of the party. I agree, who will be voting, how many shows did these people see? I also feel that as these awards are for 2017 they should really be held earlier in the year.

My view is that to be a success in London a musical needs - stars, popular songs or has already been a hit. As to be a success its got to appeal to the people who once or twice a year, tourists, family's and the coach groups, having critical success means little to most people.
In regard to the Girls the ticket prices feel too high and appears to be aimed at a certain audience, the producers are trying not to discount tickets, but with tickets still being unsold, I wonder how long they can continue to do this for? As for me, I am waiting for offers before I go as I'd like to see it, but its not high on my list of shows I'm prepared to spend lots of money to see.

Seems self-defeating but also inconsistent as there are now tickets available via TKTS, though not with a huge percentage reduction. I will try the theatre itself but then it may have to be TKTS as I definitely want to see this and should qualify for the seniors' discount, but it doesn't seem to show up online. Agree it seems confusing I just looked on ATG website and TKTs.
TKTs have tickets on sale for Dress and Grand Circle, but not in the stalls. But when looking on the ATG webpage there are lots of unsold seats in the stalls, if there not sold why not try and sell these as well?

Dayseats now being offered at £20 according to a user on a twitter! Checked with the box office. NOT yet official policy, sorry. I asked at the box office today, and they said there were no day seats on sale, only full price tickets available despite the fact that they had lots of unsold seats, for example at lunch time today they had over 100 unsold seats in the stalls.

Also the Savoy does not have a sign saying who is in the cast, when I pointed this out to an usher I was told to buy a programme.... That's what's momentarily shown on the TVs in the foyer - when they're not showing ads for other ATG shows:. It takes a while for the information to be displayed... But as I've said above: I only happened to accidentally see this while standing in the foyer in the interval, and my programme didn't have an understudy slip either. Thanks I didn't see that when I went
