They lurvs Killian. He is in every one of their productions playing almost every part at one time or another. I do not think an album will perform to their expections.

You will just keep going on and on and on. I guess I am triggering you. You posted a dismissive response about a production you haven't seen because they've cast women in men's roles. I responded. I'm not "going on and on". It's YOU who is triggered, dear. Welcome to 2022. I know it must be really hard being stuck in 1940. xxx Kisses

I have no intention of see this. Enough is enough. Does it check every box or is it going to add a few they have not thought about. Then don't see it. I know progress is triggering is for some folks, but no one is forcing you to see it. Didn't I just say I was not going to see it. I do not need you to confirm what I said. Its not progress its sensationalism.

I know it's not going to save this tour, but apparently from 1st August Gemma Collins is 'retiring' from showbiz to concentrate on making a baby. I do not think the tour needs much saving as far as selling is concerned. They are quite booked up. Maybe not esthically but definitely money wise.

I saw the matinee today and whilst I did enjoy it, I was left feeling disappointed and wanting more. I have seen the show once before (with Sheridan at the Chocolate Factory) and remember liking it, but not loving it there. Act two in particular I found lacked any momentum after a fairly busy first act. The main issue with this production is Beanies vocals. She just doesn’t have the power behind her voice to sing these big numbers. Yes she acts her socks off, but really, you need the vocals to go with that. I don’t remember this being an issue for Sheridan. Of the other cast members, very good - Ramin is wasted here but makes the most of it. Jared Grimes has an amazing tap solo, and Jane Lynch is… well, Jane Lynch (in a good way) - great to see her on stage. I really do not know why Ramin even took the part.

A new book, a new storyline, why not just name it a new musical. Oh wait they want to use the music. Oh, stop being so melodramatic. It’s not a new storyline, it’s the exact same story it’s just being tweaked as many, many, many musicals have been over the years have been. The recent London revival of Anything Goes is almost completely different to the very first production, in fact it changes practically every time it’s revived. That is what they said read Burly's post. A new ending, really.

I didn’t ask for the movie to be recreated, I said I’d like to see a more showbizzy version where Sally sings the songs as big belting songs rather than some sort of tortured inner monologue. We’ve had multiple revivals of “dark Cabaret” which all sound extremely similar but no one ever demands anything different? You've been going on about this from even before the show started previews: Cabaret has never been a pizzazz show. Making it "dark" is not something that the revivals made up in the past thirty years, it's always been like that. Some Sallys have been stronger singers than others, but there is no "dark Cabaret": it's just Cabaret. I guess you did not see the revival with Will Young. Hard to get any darker than that ending.

Moulin Rouge is exhorbitant without any name and it seems too be selling well. So maybe no name would work. Is it the same production as the one with Will Young a few years ago. Very dark. Different production - brand new by Rebecca Frecknall. Moulin Rouge sort of a different beast as it as a title is much more well known in the general population because of the enormous success of the film Thank you.

Cynthia and Harry just do not look like they go together. She looks way more than 7 years older than him.

You could leave by the front and avoid the Stage Door altogether.

It will be a flop here. Pure ego wanting to bring it to Broadway.

If they go by the book then fans are not going to be happy. Better to just go with the staged version.
Though I do not know of any actor who can get that into the Elphaba. She just seems to not have the ability to show joy with Fiyero. I really do not understand her casting.

Fair enough. I don't get that impression myself but I could be mistaken. Is Phantom closing for the same amount of time?

If it was then it was, doesn’t stop it being a great movie. Shame they didn’t sing it all live, speak half the words, cast actors who can’t sing, then win an Oscar. Is that what you’re saying? Its your Opinion that its perfect. Does not make me or anyone else wrong. You are pretty defensive. That is what I am saying.

It's all about lack of understanding this language and artform on film. Current movie makers tone down the language of sung thoughts, which is the essence of the artform and why it works, ad they tone up the realistic aspect, which clashes ernormously with the material per definition. It should be the other way around, embracing the sung thoughts and take it to the next level and tone down the realistic aspect. Exactly why I think the In The Heights movie is so perfect. When you’ve got people dancing on a vertical wall, and wig stands in hair salon bopping along to a song, you know the director knows how to film a musical. And a massive flop.

Disappointing casting for me and not really impressed by the publicity photos. I think I will give this a miss second time round. Who would you have cast?

"I'm not sure what you consider political about some exceptional duets celebrating the best of Broadway (and remembering many artists lost over the past 18 months), but your loss."
That was not I was referring to, you want me to say it fine, I am talking about starting his speech with George Floyd and going on for almost 10 minutes. I did not watch to be lectured.

AT did not even perform in the MR number. Unless he performed after I changed the channel at 35 minutes when it became a political show rather than entertainment.

That high money for that cast. Aaron Tveit well known on Broadway and an unknown in the WE. Tickets should be lower. They will be selling it on the movie. But he does not look like a Christian to me. Aaron Tveit has appeared here. He was in Assassins at the Menier a few years ago but he isn't that well known here outside of the MT circle. Funnily enough we used to get mega fans coming to see him. I remember one night there were 2 young girls from Japan who came over just to see him. Aaron told me that they travel to all his shows and concerts. Apparently they even went to a concert at the Hollywood Bowl and he was only performing 1 song. Its still a bit hard to believe no established performer was as good as him. I forgot his name.
