So we can probably expect a cast announcement by Friday?

Helen has had only rave reviews from those who have seen her in London and on the tour, so I imagine she would be quite a brilliant tour lead, and I'd be very excited to see her! It also makes sense that Suzie would mention being happy with the casting, as obviously she would have spent time with Helen while they were in the London production!

It's coming closer and closer to the announcement, I hope they release it soon! Very keen to find out the rest of the cast!

Even without the visual aspect of the number, I feel that Defying Gravity just exudes power. The score itself for this song is incredibly powerful and triumphant, when you mix this with an Elphaba who has a solid set of pipes, the musical aspects alone carry this scene.
The visuals of course too are absolutely breathtaking. I still am awed whenever I see the show after a long hiatus, simply because of how mesmerising the mix of Elphabas flight and the beautiful lighting are. In particular, I feel the UK tour really makes this scene incredibly climactic. The new lighting that was used for the tour, combined with the increased speed of the lift truly make this scene work (in my opinion, at least)

I'm incredibly excited to find out who our Glinda is, I can only imagine the shock we'd feel collectively if they also gave us a brand new Glinda!

The cast announcement is being made in September. Wicked often make cast announcements on a Friday. The 1st of September is a Friday. We wouldn't get so lucky?

You must admit, the current batch of stalker-esque tween "superfans" do provide this board with a lot of its amusing content, would we have a Jackie Hughes nutella in-joke without them?

I'm going to London in November so I will definitely put my two cents in regarding Alice and Sophie when I return!

I'm about to bring up a mildly controversial topic for sure, but I am curious as to what others think. Do you think riffs are necessary for Elphaba in her three big numbers? (The Wizard and I, Defying Gravity & No Good Deed).
Personally, I really enjoy The Wizard and I more plain, while the riffs are nice, just a solid belt and nice extended end note does the trick for me. Defying Gravity is one where a riff or two is nice, but I have heard some very powerful renditions with little to no riffs and enjoyed them immensely! As for No Good Deed, this is the song I need a riff or two in. The end note is very anti-climactic if "sung to score" as such, I need a nice riff here to really round out the song.

Moving swiftly on... we can expect the casting announcement in the coming weeks, I'm certainly excited to see who we will have joining the tour. I imagine some of the cast will return from the International Tour, hoping for Kim Ismay or Carly Anderson, both were fantastic!

To be honest, I find the whole getting annoyed over the "no new Elphaba" situation to be a bit ridiculous. Yes, it would be nice to get a brand new Elphaba but some people act as if the world has ended that an Elphaba has been promoted internally or that a lead has returned after a hiatus, while proclaiming that the they will never see the show again (which, let's face it, we know isn't true). The Amy Ross rumours are very encouraging however, I would like to see them be true.

We could also potentially be getting a new standby for Elphaba. I doubt it, but the idea of having two brand new Elphabas is quite exciting!

Does anyone have any knowledge about seating in the Edinburgh Playhouse? I am planning to book tickets but want to know whether I should sit a few rows back or go for one of the front few rows?

I am very excited to finally get the opportunity to see Legally Blonde, it has been a favourite of mine for quite some time! I do hope that the production sticks with the London script/score/staging. I heard about some of the changes that were made for the Leicester Curve production and wasn't very fond of them.

Is anyone here who is skeptical about the new cast going to see them anytime soon? I'd like to see if opinions change having seen the new cast. I doubt I'll be able to make it over to see them myself unless they extend well into 2019.

Just found out I'll be heading to Zurich for the opening night of the tour and the Friday show that week also, what a treat! Excited to see many debut performances!

It only makes sense that Zurich will have the same cast as the remainder of the tour. I don't know why people believe that they would have a different cast, I find the notion quite ludicrous.

Has it now been confirmed somewhere that the UK&Ireland 2018 tour cast will also be doing Zurich? The Zurich cast will be different to the UK & Ireland Tour cast Aaron Sidwell has confirmed through Twitter that he is beginning the tour in Zurich. I believe from this it is safe to assume that both Zurich and the UK & Ireland Tour are both part of the same tour and will feature the same cast.
