Wanted to see this on its return as I had assumed an all new cast, but count me out again...

It worked really well as a 1 hour show at Vaults, but it's expanding has been nothing but detrimental to the original piece.

Shows do this all the time - Kinky Boots did a cast change in September and then announced closing for the January.
They will have needed to recast because people will have come to the end of contracts...

Oh I'm sure she'll be 'fine' - but Sally shouldn't be fine

If the cast on the website is the full list, this will be a very small affair. They usually are a cast of 6, some double casting, but they're a really great company who I've seen lots of productions from.

The O2 concert thing is seemingly off on a world tour from Sept 24

They tried this with I Can't Sing when X factor was at its peak which was literally the X Factor Musical with Simon as a character.
It lost 5 million pounds. I'm out.

I'm wondering how Jack Thorne managed to write both this and the Donmar's Winston play. My initial take was that they seemed worlds apart in terms of quality, but maybe the actors/direction swung it, or maybe it's just me. Maybe I was in the right frame of mind for Motive and not for Winston? More likely is that I find Gielgud and Burton interesting and John Reith, as portrayed, rather tiresome. When Winston went to war with the wireless has been around for a while - another London theatre has had the rights since 2020. To my knowledge he finished Motive mid last year.

Alice Fearn does a good Celine impression! You gotta be funny to do Titanique though....

They’d be foolish not to transfer it… especially as the 2024 men’s euros approach Back to the Olivier next summer (May to August) for the Euros, as predicted by many on here, then to the Gillian Lynne almost straight after for a limited run. Well this DOES make more sense

Where on earth are they going to put it though without serious redesign and essentially losing the grandness it gets from the Olivier?
I reckon a chance of NT Live but no transfer personally.

It just kind of baffles me that if you're going to gender swap it, why not gender swap it for an actual actress like Anne Marie Duff or something (not the right age but you get me)

I can't see this doing an open ended run anywhere to be honest. 10 weeks on Broadway seems feasible though.

I think some people have decided Matthew Dunster is a much better director than he actually is - I really enjoyed Hangmen a few years back, but otherwise everything I've seen of his always had some problem that stopped it from being as good as it could be (although with 2:22 I'm not entirely sure how you improve on what is just not a very good play) It's an even bigger shame here because the play is so brilliant, it's such a letdown that it hasn't been allowed to soar in the way it should He's the play equivalent of Laurence Connor, reliable but no style of his own. Bingo

I only ever leave plays at the interval it seems!
As You Like It and King Lear at the RSC, Play That Goes Wrong on tour, and Macbeth at the National.
Something ha to be seriously bad for me to want to leave - I did almost leave Wizard of OZ the other day at the interval, but remembered both Dianne Pilkington and Christina Bianco had numbers in Act 2 so stuck it out.

Am keeping an eye for Sunday matinee returns - their website wouldnt let me book tickets for either performance I could attend on Thursday, so I'm just hoping a return appears as there's apparently a 28 piece orchestra playing Carousel at RAM!

Yeah there's a pretty good US touring version that will do the rounds (minus the massive bridge and the ice castle is simpler)

I have no info on what's going on currently - Drury lane is a massive space to fill and is not particularly attractive to producers on the whole I don't think

Ah I'd been told this was closing in Jan but they didn't have anything to go in its place - would make sense for it to extend to March if they've got something in April to go in. Very weird to only extend by 2 months when they did a big extension a matter of months ago...

It's a Fringe show. It would make sense for it to go to a Fringe style venue - which works well for Six and Choir of Man.
Soho Place entirely unsuitable for it too.
Ambassadors I guess a possible.
