I think she will be nominated and I think she is incredible in the show but I just can't get over Caissie's performance in Next To Normal... Oh sure, my heart is with Levy for personal reasons with that show and she is utterly remarkable in it - I can just see Nicole being given it due to the amount of promotors and investors involved in a production on the scale of Sunset, as opposed to a producing house like the Donmar. Awards are all political anyway - they're largely meaningless these days...

I second the poster above - I don't understand how anyone can watch the last 10 minutes (at the very least) and not be sure that's a (deserved) Olivier nom lock.

But where do we think the reviews will land on this? Personally, if we're looking at a possible comparison, I don't think this is quite as smart or thorough as Fish's Oklahoma, nor has the same consideration for characters that that had. 5s or 2s. No middle ground.

Caissie Levy has some competition for the Olivier Award! I hope this isn't the case, Caissie deserves that hands down.... This has more producers and investors behind it than Next To Normal does, so I would imagine Scherzinger has absolutely knackered the Olivier up for Caissie Levy (on an awards political thing rather than actually "who is the best")

It could go either way but if Tucker tries to do what Scherzinger is doing it's going to go horribly wrong - I think she needs to make some different choices (which I think there's actually quite easily scope for)

It just didn't feel like it had anything to say, other than a provocative title.
And I really don't get the Mei Mac hype - I found her incredible tedious in Totoro, and fairly annoying here

Went to see it. Found it pretty tedious. There was about 10 good minutes about 2/3 of the way through. If there'd been an interval I'd have left.

Front of house staff are usually the last people to learn about anything in theatre so to be honest, that isn't much of a Barometer on whether it's happening or not.

I'm gonna have to sit on this overnight, but as someone who hates Jamie Lloyd shows and has never managed to win me over ever, he did it tonight.
This is utterly thrilling, and Scherzinger is a sensation.

I mean, I can't stand Play That Goes wrong or any of that mischief stuff but thought this was witty and intelligent and fun 🤷🏻♂️

She hadn't started coming down the stairs yet, she literally got to the end of the first line and he ran off once he'd got the towels in the bag.

Something weird happened this evening too - Jamie was still clearing up when the music started for Didn't I See This Movie and didn't run off until Caissie had actually started singing and he's usually gone way earlier than that

I think all the cover run actually highlighted to me is just how spectacularly cast the 'main' actors are in their roles.
I enjoyed Carolyn and she's evidently done a LOT of work off her own back with this and it shows as she was by a country mile the most confident performance on show.
Like the poster above, best to not be negative especially as it was a cover run. It was nice to see other interpretations of the roles though!

Bernadette - Mazeppa Clare Burt - Electra Jo Riding - Tessie
Jo did Getting Married Today and NAILED it.
Bonnie's I'm Still Here got me really emotional as it did feel a bit like 'This Is Your Life' with some slightly altered lyrics (which I actually didn't mind).
This show really belonged to Lea Salonga though - we've got one hell of a Rose coming from her in the very near future.

Did the standing for A Little Life - I don't remember the numbered spot, I think it's like the Donmar where you just pick a spot on arrival. Won't be buying a standing until we know how long it is though! You stood for 4 hours?!!!! Bravo to you for that It was £15 and I wasn't sure I'd manage the whole thing as it's intense so I went for it....it's a slog but worth it for the price

Does Lea do the Mrs Lovett material? She does - that whole section is MUCH better than it was with Ball and Freidman

Who's doing Loving You and Could I Leave You now Michael's gone? Lea Salonga and Gavin Lee respectively (and the choice of having Gavin do it works REALLY well)

Is it still lovely? Absolutely.

We'll get Jack and Trevor as Henry and the Doctors, with the other 4 playing the family.

if I'm being honest, it’s one of the most beautiful and incredible moments and I’d actually hate for it to be spoiled on a poster. Well it's been spoilt in a production photo so I struggle to see the difference now...

If she turned up at Paramount in that, they'd hand her a film and an Oscar on the spot.
This is mental I'm so excited haha

Because the producers are greedy.
It's as straightforward as that.

She would have been eligible for the transfer. Mark Umbers! Whatever happened to him? He was always glorious It was a good year for leading actresses that year (Sheridan, Sierra, Emma Williams and Elena Roger - Sheridan winning for Legally Blonde) Josefina Gabrielle was nominated in the supporting actress category. I miss Mark Umbers too! Fabulous in Merrily and She Loves Me at the Menier

I'm very over this now - they're just making it too difficult for people to get tickets that anyone can afford so I'm done 😂
Have at it if you want to spend £100 for the worst seat in the house, or sacrifice your first born and find a leprechaun through whatever scheme they've announced this week - I'm out 😂

I disagree. To me it fits the show perfectly..and in a simple way. What do you want from it? Someone in a wheelchair? No but it needs to tell you something about the show, and I don't think it tells you anything
