I love me a handyman who brings cake when he comes to check the gas boiler. I love me a handyman.

And yet I was close to saying "I have a spare bedroom"... hahaha not ME the cast. Which I fear Monkey wants responsibility for. I'm fully housetrained (in a non 50 Shades way...)
BUT major question, what colour have you painted that spare room?
Haha, fair enough! I think we'll be painting 3 walls grey and we'll keep one wall white. But this is still to be decided! Once we repaint it we will put in on AirBnB to see if anyone fancies staying with us during the festival.

Depends on the size of the room, the lighting, and the furniture. All my bedroom furniture is white and my window is south-facing so a dark colour would be a nice contrast, but if I were in a teeny boxroom on the north side of the house with mahogany furniture, I'd stick to pastels. I'd never rule any colour out full stop though; you just have to have everything else in place to make it work. And, end of the day, it's *your* room, you go with the colours *you* want! Thanks for the advice @baemax ! It's our first flat, so we have to learn somewhere, even if it means choosing a terrible colour It's our flat to make mistakes in!

I live in Edinburgh and I always find the Fringe programme so overwhelming, that I rarely make plans. Sometimes I just go to see a random show, because I was given a leaflet. If I were to recommend anything, I would highly recommend this man: tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/colin-cloud-dare if "mind-reading" is your thing.

The last day of my "stay at home and play video games" holiday. I just came back from the local paint shop and purchased all the stuff needed to repaint my room to a nice purple colour ("Plum" according to manufacture). Saturday will be the first time I'm painting a room. Feelin' all heterosexual and stuff. According to my mum "the colour is too dark and it will make you depressed". Love you mum. If it's too dark, I'll just repaint it in few months time!

I had my Open Uni Java exam this morning and then I started my short holiday of "staying at home and doing nothing". Tomorrow we're going to Prestwick to see some friends, so hoping for a sunny day!

Well it's already 'interesting' in Cardiff with the Champions League descending...working inside the 'Festival Village' zone I had to walk through 4 security checkpoints to get to work (not active yet although the roads are closed) Everywhere full of Police/Security, and it seems if we go out at lunchtime we'll be getting bag searched and/or ID'd to get out/in. Also as I opened the window I realised the loading bay was full of armed police obviously getting ready for a search. As much as I'm muttering about road closures and general chaos, if we do have to have this madness happening I'm glad Police/Security is tight. Just wish I didn't have to battle with it to get a sandwich... Upgrade the sandwich to a burrito!!!

Pink is also a wonderful 5 mins of MT heaven! I think I must've been watching too many of Seth Rudetsky's deconstructions, because I'm obsessed about the little scoop (I think that's the term) Christine Ebersole does around 2 minutes 40 seconds of "Pink" where she sings "In ye-ars to come I wond-er how..." OBSESSED!

More War Paint today. Patti's accent is horrendous. She sounds like Old Lady from "Candide". I find Christine Ebersole's voice thoroughly enjoyable and I love "Pink". Unfortunately, it's not the best album.

I've always been of the opinion that the matters of a uterus should be left to the owner of said uterus. But what do I know? I'm just a simple man without a uterus. Can I take you with me to tell every woman who thinks it's her business what I do or don't do in my uterus? I'll let you know when I'm in Cardiff and we can have a walk around the city shouting "Leave emi's uterus alone!"

Feeling mighty grumpy about being in work. And having so much work outside of work to do. Also screaming into the twitter void with the classic parent telling me "It's different when you have your own" regarding not wanting children.....*screams* I've always been of the opinion that the matters of a uterus should be left to the owner of said uterus. But what do I know? I'm just a simple man without a uterus.

^ Hmm, no too keen on the above, if I'm honest. Reminds me of John Partridge references to Primark during "La Cage..". How are all of the local references made by "Hedwig, an East German transgender glam-rocker who escapes Communism" relevant to the story?
In War Paint, the reference makes sense, because Helena Rubenstein was born in Poland.

It's nice to hear a reference to your own country when listening to recordings. In "Come from Away" someone mentions being born in Poland. In Natasha and Pierre(...) Poland is being mentioned in song "Preparations", in "War Paint" LuPone pronouces Krakow really well (Cra-cuv, rather than Cra-cow).

On the subject of Old Vic: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-40070521I understand that title "Old Vic evacuated due to a bomb threat." wouldn't be as clickable as "Star Wars actor John Boyega caught up in Old Vic bomb threat"

My favourite day of the year! Scottish summer The weather in Edinburgh is brilliant with loads of people sitting in Princes Street gardens and in The Meadows. Will go for a nice stroll around lunchtime.

I must've been listening too much to "Gypsy" in the last few days. I was in a meeting today and a colleague was speaking in a very soft voice which made him hard to understand - I was on the verge of shouting "SING OUT, LOUISE! SING OUT!"

Oh and the 2/7 is just division....just add a decimal point and some zeros 2.000 divided by 7....7 into 2 is 0 remainder 2, put the 2 next to the next zero, .so 7 into 20 is 2 remainder 6, put remainder before next zero....so then 7 into 60 is 8 remainder 4, put remainder next to next zero.....7 into 40 is 5 remainder 5 etc etc etc So your answer is 0.285 ....just carry on as long as you need! You don't need to remember it! That's exactly how I was taught at school

Reeee Spect michalnowicki . Paper I had. It was no use to me whatsoever. In my defence (?) I recently revisited maths due to my Open Uni BSc in Computing and IT, so I remembered how to do this (easier than integrals). It's funny how ones approach to certain subjects can change. As a teenager I hated maths. Barely scraped a pass each time. But now, that I wanted to study something and it required maths I thought "Go for it!". I put a lot of time into preparation and resulted in a brilliant result of the final exam last June. And now I have to start revising for my Java exam next Friday. Fun fun fun fun fun...

Darius is performing at Southampton this week opposite Sheridan and gives a wonderful performance, better than he did in London. Sheridan was excellent as always. Kit Benjamin was also on last night as Mr Keeney in place of Martin Callaghan if anyone is interested. On a side note, has anyone been to the stage door for Sheridan for this on tour? We were informed last night Sheridan would not be signing due to her schedule and she exited via a different door, I'm sure not by her choice. I was just wondering if this had happened elsewhere, or if we were just unlucky last night? When the tour was in Edinburgh Darius came out to everyone through Stage Door and was very nice, taking pictures, signing and even recording a wedding message to someone's friends. Sheridan didn't come out until an hour after the show ended and was very apologetic for keeping everyone waiting. She's a lovely lady.
