Apart from the ridiculous comment from The Guardian (about abusive relationship), I'm struggling with this one as well: "Katharine McPhee, from the original New York cast (..)" She's not though, right? Jessie Mueller was in the original cast, KMP was one of the many Jennas along the line.

I saw it on Saturday for the second, and probably last time. What a production! I was a bit disappointed that Jennifer was covering the role, because I really wanted my boyfriend to see the Tick Tock scene, but to be honest, not seeing it doesn't affect the performance at all. Jennifer was great as Bobby, she has a very strong voice, although I felt like it took her a while to warm up vocally in the songs. Patti was amazing and she sounded so different from when I first saw her in November. I'm so glad I got to see her again. Every one else was brilliant. And I'm rally happy that my boyfriend (who is not a big theatre fan) said during interval that he really likes the show and it might be one of the best shows he ever saw with me.

Oh what a fantastic show this is! I saw it on Monday as a birthday treat. We were sitting in Row C, and I'm glad because the stage is quite high. The energy on stage is phenomenal and you don't even feel the passage of time. It's a perfect example of a show, in which you don't have to stretch the story into 2 acts - one is just fine. A well deserved standing ovation and I loved that the musicians got to play their solos at the end.
On a side note I have only seen Wicked once, but when I did, Rachel Tucker was playing Elphaba, and Clive Carter was the Wizard - it was nice to see them on stage again!

I saw it on Tuesday and enjoyed it, however compared to 2 other shows I saw this week (Company and Come From Away) this was was lacking quite a bit. Good things: KMP's voice, set design, David Hunters acting and adorable awkwardness. Warm and fuzzy feelings. Bad things: KMP's immovable face. Ogie - that boy can't sing, and that's a terrible thing in a musical. I didn't find him funny, but the audience was eating him up, so it's working for some people.
I must say, that I really like Laura Baldwin's voice, but she was a little bit over the top during "When he sees me". Don't get me wrong, it's my favourite song from the OBC recording, but I felt like Laura acted a bit too much and it shifted the focus from how vulnerable Dawn is, towards how "loopy" she is.
I'm glad I saw it, but don't think I will revisit until the cast change.

I'm not bothered about Dear Evan Hansen making its/his/their way to West End.

Just got my meet and greet ticket for the evening concert. Hope I'll be more eloquent compared to my meet and greet with Audra.

Big day yesterday - my partner and I both received our British Citizenship. Only took us 6.5 years and "a lot of money" to get it, but it feels good, that we will finally be able to vote in general elections, etc.

Thanks for posting the videos @emicardiff ! Now I remember why I liked "Don't say yes..." -because boys, that's why. Looks like I'll listen to some Smash today! Boys in their towels. My only complaint being they didn't do the full staging of it where we'd see them 'in costume' Haha, true! It's nice to watch these clips now and recognise actors for their other work. Let's be honest, when I watched Smash for the first time, I had no idea who Brian D'Arcy James was. But years later, I have a completely new appreciation for their work. I think that one of the dancers in "Don't say no..." is Spencer Liff, who was the choreographer for Head Over Heels and I saw him perform in many "Kennedy Centre Honours" videos. And young Aaron Burr is there. And Marvin from Falsettos. And Wesley Taylor, who recently played in Spongebob. Smash did a great job in being "Glee for adults" but without the teenage drama and autotune.

#TeamIvy Oh thank you for all the great memories! I remember watching it years ago and discussing it at length with my friend after every episode. There are so many great songs in that show, so many memorable performances. I was always obsessing about "20th Century Fox Mambo" or "Don't say yes until I finish talking" (and a little bit "Thousand and one night"). Megan Hilty was an absolute star of this show and it was always easier for me to relate to her, rather than KMP (I love these letters!) although Ivy could be seen as the villain of the show. I wish would get a rewrite of Season 2, so it can continue into Seasons 3, etc...

Does anyone know why is the availability so low the entire March? I'm looking on the ATG site right now, January and February is mostly "yellow" with some "green" days, but March is "red"...

I know nothing about this play, but I do wonder how 1* for this, compares to 4* for Magic Mike.

I saw the second preview on Wednesday evening. This was the first time I saw this piece and I really liked it. I sat in circle, row G and had a really good view of the stage – had to lean only couple of times, but that’s because the kid in front of me wouldn’t sit still. What felt weird was that the audience didn’t applaud until the end of Act 1. Maybe it’s just the way the show is written or maybe the audience didn’t like it? Sharon D Clarke gives a great performance throughout and gets a well-deserved applause at the end of Lot’s Wife. I wish that people would stop bringing food/snack into the theatre and that theatres would stop selling them. There was a lot of rustling throughout the show and I just don’t understand why it’s necessary for people to stuff their gobs with M&Ms. The aforementioned “kid” in front of me was a part of a larger group – two grown women with 4 kids. They had BAGS of food: crisps, M&Ms, Maltesers, etc. and thankfully they limited majority of their little picnic to pre-show and interval.

I saw it on Wednesday, after getting cheap tickets via TodayTix some time ago. Unfortunately, I didn’t really connect with this show. The staging is great, the energy on stage is fantastic, but the story and the songs just didn’t click for me, probably because I’m not too familiar with Meat Loaf and his music. But I can appreciate why this show might have a cult-following, or what-not. It’s because it’s fun. It’s not my kind of fun, but I would never diss it as “terrible”.

I saw it on Tuesday night and I’ll keep it short and sweet, because so many things were already said that I don’t want to repeat what others said. This is probably the best piece of theatre I have ever seen. It has everything: a fantastic cast, great direction, neon, Patti LuPone, gay couple represented on stage, abs, breath-taking staging and choreography of “Tick-Tock”. It’s witty, it’s sad, it’s funny. I really hope I’ll get to see it again in February and that the previously mentioned rumours about NTLive would be a true blessing.

I have internet and a keyboard, so here we go: I saw this on Tuesday matinee as my first show of the most recent London trip. I sat in the stalls row K and had a perfect view of the stage (but I don’t think there is a bad seat in Olivier). I really like this show. I didn’t know much about it, apart from listening to the recording prior to seeing it. I liked how jazzy and folky the music sounded, I loved how flamboyant Andre de Shields was and how sassy the Fates were. Eva Noblezada has a great voice, but I agree that she tended to have the same blank/stern face throughout the show. Story-wise, I think this is a really nice retelling of the myth, but I felt that Hades-Persephone relationship was much more interesting that Orpheus-Euridice relationship. Maybe it’s just the age thing, that I connect more with the “old and seasoned” couple rather than with young lovers? Amber Grey and Patrick Page were sensational in their portrayals and in how much they put into their roles. I agree, that “Wait for me” should be the Act 1 finale and “Why do we build the wall” should open Act 2. But maybe this will be adapted for Broadway? I don’t think this is a ground-breaking musical, but it’s nice and melodic and clever. The {Spoiler}{Spoiler - click to view}"encore toast" was a really nice touch and it made me feel like a part of the show/community. If you happen to be in London, go and see it!

I have never seen it before. I tried to listen to the cast recording but struggled terribly with Matthew Morrison's Italian pronunciation.

You can try calling them and asking the question; they do have an exchange policy so may be willing to help out in this case, but I can't say that for definite. They might however just say "dynamic pricing, can't help in this case, sorry". Thanks, I did that. I don't remember when was the last time I spent 30 minutes on hold (being 3rd in line). Long story short, they upgraded me from row V to row S for approx. £7. I'm glad I checked that the price changed.

Question. I purchased tickets a month ago, to see Company on the 20th November. I just checked and it looks like row V was downgraded from "blue seats" (£49.5 at the time of purchase) to to "green seats" (£29.75 at this moment). I bought the tickets through Delfont Macintosh Theatres website. Does anyone have any experience with upgrading the tickets? Should I try to call them or do it on the day of the show? Or do they have some silly "no exchanges" policy?

Just a heads up - Today Tix are doing tickets for £15 for this for the next 24 hours. I'm glad I didn't buy my tickets weeks ago - just got a Stalls Q25 for £25 - bargain!

I would love to see Keala Settle reprise her role - she has been in the UK for the last week, according to her Twitter, and recently appeared on Lorraine. I hope this is not just a coincidence.
