Not sure how this play could have been any worse.
Infantile dialogue. Cheap special effects.
Felt like a scrapped episode of inside number 9 or the twilight zone. Predictable twists signposted a mile off. "Funny" lines felt like they were written by Hale and Pace.... Ohh she said f**k.. Ohh she talks about pornos...
Seemed to make light of facial disfigurements and encouraged the audience to laugh at the character. Surprisingly for some where as pc as the nt! People next to us, and around the auditorium where laughing at her.
Poor show with a muted round of applause at the end.

Well jist saw the first half of this in Wimbledon... Could be bothered to see act 2 as was so dull. Cast didnt seem to have any chemistry. Slow moving. Most songs sung live by "bee gees" at back of stage. Set looked expensive by kenright standards. Except the stupidest looking diner ever, (half a booth seat on centre stage!) Same disco dance routine done to every music number.

Enjoyable enough show. Lot of the 80s references, almost too many! Story very 80s movie in that it didn't really wor, bit it didn't really matter! Musically they made songs that sound like you've heard them before, so you end up humming them on your way home.
£10 seats a7 and A6 fantastic value... Blocked by cast occasionally... But clear view otherwise. One up/down side..? A lot of lycra costumes. Don't leave much to imagination!

So in the Sheffield version a few of the gags used local references. A huge council estate called Parsons Cross was definitely mentioned, I think meadowhall May have been aswell. Presumably they’ve taken these out or changed them? We’re there any jokes where you thought “Eh?” When it was in the crucible, the line about watching snooker got a large laugh, which it didn't get in the lyric

Great show... even better than when we saw it Sheffield! Won the todaytix lotto for front row... Stage quite high. But good value for money. Couple of new songs if I remember right, but then they may just now be on the concept album and I've forgot they were in there. You would never have guessed it was the first preview....
Could walk back in and see it again straight away!

Sure i saw a tweet earlier saying it was earlier. Film one of the London ticket sites. But now I can find no mention of it. I think it mentioned January? Don't know if it was a mistake or released earthly?

Looks like they think they run the young vic, and trying hide the historic building they have. The side wall is the same size font, but has a "h" gap for door then "oldvic"

Who signed off the paint job... the theatre is now a miserable grey with h old vic painted down the side! And massive "the old vic" on the front. Looks very cheap now, more like a night club than a warm welcoming theatre

Saw this in Bromley... First act dull as takes itself to seriously. But stay for 2nd act as book goes into full 'Too close to the sun' crapness levels. Cast can sing well seperatly, but sounded bad when singing together. Set looked like was going to be good, but they ran out of money halfway through making it. Obigitory megamix at end only got the f&f standing.

At the interval of this now... good show but disturbed by the audience laughing at the depictions of mental illness. Why does this seem to happen so much at he theatre nowadays....? Is it because people always seem to assume no mayyrr what they are watching its a comedy, and laugh to make it look like they 'get it'

Wonder how busy take that are? Maybe Gary Barlow could do a stint in it to pick up interest? Is there a minor male role he could play? Maybe the florist? Take That start their worldwide tour this week! Just looked on take that website.... there's a big gap in tour schedule for all of July and August. If they've taken dates off sale from end of July. Maybe it could be to dynamically price while he was in show?

I caught this last weekend, thought it was one of the best things weve seen on stage for a long time. Great songs, choreography and set. Dan Gillespie sells was signing CD and programs in the foyer after the show. Cheekily asked if there they had plans for the show after Sheffield. His response was he hoped so...

Spamalot changed "You Won't Succeed on Broadway If You Don't Have Any Jews" to "Star Song" in the UK with lots of changed lyrics Not in the original run they didn't. But if I remember the original run did change 'broadway' to 'Westend' but leave the rest of the song the same.

Wonder when the Savoy hotel staff will send them away. Don't think they want to have people camping next to the hotel's main entrance... They actually in the strand. Probably been told to go there, the pavement in the savoy road is narrow.

Feel the need to report the most irritating bad behaviour at Vanities yesterday. At one of the most impactful moments of the show, when the three women realise they have nothing in common any more, a mobile phone started ringing, LOUDLY, from someone in (I think) the front row. The Trafalgar Studios are absolutely tiny, meaning the sound bounced around the whole theatre, completely killing the moment. The phone kept ringing for what felt like an age, getting even louder as it was removed from a bag and the person decided to check who it was that was calling them, then clamber out of the auditorium to answer the phone. I have to give credit to all three ladies, especially Ashleigh Gray, who had a poignant solo and managed to stay completely in character and not express the anger present on the faces of the other audience members. Who are these people that think they have the right to ignore all notices and disrupt a show through their sheer arrogance? I can completely understand how Patti Lupone would snatch a phone from an audience member or stop the performance to let everyone know what a tw*t they are. If you have an unavoidable phone call imminent, DON'T GO TO THE THEATRE. They were sat right behind us.. And when he came back in. He had the never to tell his companion, that it was embarrassing. I felt like turning round and saying it wasn't embarrassing, just plain rude. Also I think the ushers should have refused him re-entry to the auditorium. Just glad he wasn't sat other side of stage.. Can imagine he would have just stompped all the way past the cast!
