Watch out if they allocating you different seats. I had tickets with a clear view in row C of the stalls. Got moved to very end seats of row K, which are a restricted side view. When you buy go to buy them, you get a warning. When they move you there, you don't get told!
Plus from there you can hear the cast gossiping in the wings. As they didn't think of sound proofing the fake proscenium they built as part of set. To be fair , trying to work out what cast member was having chicken to dinner was more interesting than the plot in the actual show!

Hmm could it be following the route of the last big musical to transfer from the colliseum? Unless it's the Wembley park theatre?

The lack of health measures sounds appalling. So far I've visited Regent's Park OAT, The Bridge and The Donmar and they've all managed to be COVID-19 safe, I don't understand why the Turbine couldn't. Paul-Taylor Mills should do something asap. Fairly certain it was him that was filling the gaps and making people share the seating bubbles with his friends. Glad we only had a set of 2 deckchairs, as I wouldn't have been polite about asked to share a bubble. In his view they were 'nice people' not sure how that made them unable to get covid! Glad to hear other venues actually understand the the rules.

Just back from this. Nice show well staged. Shame the production team seemed to have no knowledge they were meant to be covid safe! Director hugging people, asking people to merge there social bubbles. Apparently it was OK as the people he was telling to sit next to. them were nice people! Put me off booking to see anything else there.
Upsetting as had been looking forward to this since booking.

Act 2.... Was like watching act 1 again. Same bland music. Tbh they could have played the score from act 1 again, I don't think I would have noticed.
Set was a video wall, and a sofa they turned round numerous times!
Telling that after a bit of digging around, the the composer's writing credits are non existent. They directed a few shows then wrote this.
I wonder if it will actually make it to the full run next year. Think it would need a big star to even have a hope of shifting more than a handful of tickets.

Interval thoughts....
Why did anyone think this is a good idea. Music completely forgettable. Cast look like they had 10 mins before curtain up to rehearse show...
Ironically for a show called sleepless, its a good cure for insomnia.
Wonder of act 2 will be any better...... Also seeing how many of the audience turn up for it....

We was there Thursday night. Show went up late due to cast illness. They did a fully staged production then. Illness must be spreading.

Supposed to be seeing this tonight but it’s cancelled due to a “mechanical problem” I wonder if the theatre's broken on the change over. A lot changes between shows. All the sets taken out. Seating in stalls changed, floor tasked instead of flat. The balcony rotates 180 degrees as well. A lot to go wrong mechanically, I was there for cabernet last Saturday, you wouldn't have thought they had the ghost quartet set up in the earlier that night.

Would someone PLEASE give a better description of the beanbags? I want to know what I've let myself in for They not bad. Good value for price. Comfortable to sit on, once you've swished it to suit! Ones on right of stage probably better as although low stage you still looking up from the bean bags.

What was the running time? Looking to book the matinee next Saturday then going on to the Old Vic in the evening, looks like about ½ hour walk/train from Waterloo so should be achievable. About 2 1/2 hours inc. interval. We made from the matinée there to a eve performance at the menier. It's a 30 ISH min walk from vauxhall station, depending on speed!

Just caught the matinée of this today. A nice production. All the cast came across perfect in the roles. The chemistry between Arnold and his mother was sublime.
Nice new theatre as well. Though avoid rows b to d there is no rake between them. If booking row a is perfect. Other than that I'd go for row e onwards.

What a mess... Classic case of trying to hard, as you don't like the source material. Lloyd obviously saw six just before creating this, as this tried to portray eva as a sassy six style queen. It failed miserably. Laboured metaphor with balloons popping and, well a certain dress that got a noticeable laugh of derision! Loads of environmentally questionable effects. Walking round the back of the, theatre after the show. Their confetti was strewn all over the roads. Also loads of pyrotechnics and wasting balloons. Maye had be spoilt by the vocals at the kiln Theatre for blues in the night recently. As actress playing Eva screamed and screeched her way way through her songs. Disappointing compared to others we've seen in the role. Side grass banks weren't expensive , even if they cramped 5 to many people on each side for it to be comfortable. All in all a throughly disappointing show. You loved it then... What was the audience reaction? Generally those who hadn't left gave it a standing ovation! However its the first weekend, and it is one of Webbers best scores!

How are other shows nearby being affected, given the reported power outage? Any probs at HOME, I'M DARLING or ALL ABOUT IVO? The current OKLAHOMA! is dazzling. Dan Fish is NY's very own Rob Icke. Home I'm darling finished last week! Rosmersholm appeared to have power and be going ahead.. Seems to be localised.

I must say, it's so nice for the Phoenix to finally have a hit it seems, at least up until this point it is undoubtedly a hit. When was the last real hit this theatre had? Blood brothers? Ran for a while.

I left a musical at the Landor in the interval, a few years back. Trouble is audience was sparse to begin with, and everyone left the auditorium at the interval. Was sat in bar while they were calling out 2nd act was meant to start. No one went back up stairs.. We buggered off. It truly was a dire production, but afterwards did feel a bit bad for cast to find out there audience had completely disappeared!
Now what would have been worse us saying for the 2nd act being the only 3 people in a 70 odd seat theatre, or what did happen and they find out no audience left?

The trouble with the way this documentary is presented is its just reminding me of the show Quiz and how easy it is to present facts to fit your agenda. The music images used etc. Just feels very contrived. I'll wait till I've seen part 2 till i decide what to make of it. Unfortunately I don't believe what the media shows you. The program has been made to make a profit, and manipulate you into believing its agenda. Its probable you could make a equally believable documentary to show the 2 of them as liers.

Saw this the other night. Show is just panto for drunk hen nights. Cast seems good considering what they had to work with.
Best bit.. Calling the show club tropicana, but obviously couldn't get rights and didn't sing that song. Reminded me of Jailhouse Rock in the Piccadilly, which didn't include jailhouse rock.

I also saw it at the Landor and the Waterloo East Theatre did it also. I might see it, does Above the Stag, pay its performers? According to the casting notice (which how I knew about production) they are paid!

Above the stag in vauxhall had a good setup.. Unisex cubicles and sinks thru first door. Then another room with urinals in.

Oof. This is sounding more and more interesting. Slightly nervous that some of the comments make it sound like Very Very Dark Matter, but might give it a go anyway. For those who have been, how high is the stage? Is the view from the from row likely to be okay? Sat in front row (a 4) Stage not to high. Miss a bit when a prop is at the front. But not bad considering sold as restricted view.
