Visited there new space last night to see exhibitionsists..
Could be a good theatre... Unfortunately seating is worse than old site. Why do fringe theatres insist on pushing seats so close together. Same problem as hope mill. Yes that's enough room to sit. But your shoulders and arms are bigger than the seat meaning, you squeezed against strangers.

They are selling a new front row, AA, so I went ahead and traded in my row A tickets for January, and I’ll be there tonight…. But the new tickets say “bench restricted view”……. Did they have these the other night? We’ll see how this goes… Sat on the end of the row in AA for £20 not a bad seat. Miss a few bits here and there. Bench seats so slightly more uncomfortable than the other seats in Olivier. Been in worse seats not sold as restricted view.

Friday night. Andrew Lloyd Webber sat next to 'the Vivianne' at the little big things. Seemed to enjoy it.

I've noticed that there is nothing announced for the studio theatre there after September 3rd. (Same day Heather's closing) Do they normally only announce a couple of months of Studio shows? Hoping it doesn't mean theatre will be dark for a extended period?

So glad to see this transfer to Gillian Lynn.
Wonder if that means the Olivier is going to get another run of Hex!

We was "lucky" enough to get rush seats for this today....
I can now see why they chose to mine at lottery show.
Don't know if there was a bug, or just sound problems, but singing was not very good.
Book felt like someone decided to just put the Wikipedia entry for the temptations to some songs,
The set, well if you like like reading various American city's, you are in luck! They are projected, displayed on 2 screens, and on fake marquee set piece. Occasional other props and lights brought down. But nothing to write home about.
Show not interesting enough to be bad, just came out of the show thinking how can a show that dull have lasted nearly 3 hours. Especially when they only singing 30 second snippets of most the songs.
Band was apparently 12 strong, but sounded quite synthy?
Surprisingly audience not that bad this afternoon, though noticed ushers in auditorium watching like hawks. Also quite a few security there.
Went in not expecting much, hoping to be surprised, but was more underwhelmed than I thought I would be....
You wouldn't have guessed this was a Broadway transfer, just felt cheap.

Front row seats are £25, brilliant view as the stage isn't high at all. (Booked through atg) Fun night. Cast seem to have settled into roles. As seemed as funny as I remember.

Noticed in the 'the band visits' thread that the donmar are now doing digital programmes..
Salisbury playhouse were trying to charge for o download of the mischief plays program.
In Chichester now and the famous 5 musical, are trying to charge for a download link.
Does anyone else feel that charging for a link to download a PDF, is a bit of a ripoff. PDFs aren't meant to be a end product? Most likely not formatted for reading on a mobile screen, which is these days how most people access the web.
I refuse to buy a link. As don't want to squint at mobile screen to view something that has been produced as a printed product.
Im hoping it isn't the future, as purchasing a programme, was a memento for the show as well.

I just made the mistake of watching that video nasty. To see if I'd been to harsh. Now they still seem instead of singing the notes. The gay gimp man in dog costume is still offensive. Appealing to the daily mail readers in the audience giving them something to laugh at. Still in shock that they think gay men should be the subject of ridicule.

Was thinking this production. Is disgusting really in this day and age that they had a stage without wheelchair accessible entrances, a very abelist production. So it seems that it's only inclusive if the powers that be, deem you worthy. Obviously the director only had able bodied friends at university. How are disabled patrons going to feel represented at this production if they can't see themselves onstage?

I agree, it is totally unprofessional and something that could definitely result in a verbal warning in other companies. I suppose I was just trying to diplomatic and see it from the cast perspective, as I hate to look like someone who is constantly criticising other performers. If I'm being completely honest though, I know for certain it was Carrie chatting as I could hear her entire conversation about the wooden log prop, before coming out with it in the next scene. I was literally in the furthest possible seat to the left though which touches the wall and is just in front of the wings, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt because I quite like her (Even though I find her snarky responses to fans who are just trying to be nice on SM recently really off putting). This was also the same night that I could see into the right side wings though and witnessed Carrie bending Ivano over and dry humping him...so I left the show feeling like it was all a bit unprofessional, and that was long before the closure notice. Maybe the Lord has been in the right all along after all... We complained to front of house in the previews as was sat on side next to stage. Could hear the cast talking at full volume about what they had/was having for dinner. Shows the contempt for the audience that the cast for this show have.

Long-time lurker, first-time poster here. Just thought I'd give my review for balance! I saw Legally Blonde this week and really enjoyed it. The audience seemed to be really on board with the whole thing - there was a full standing ovation, and I heard nothing but positive comments from people around me during the interval and at the end. To address some of the criticisms which have been brought up here, I found the dogs funny and I don't think I was in a minority with this. There was lots of laughter, and even applause when the second 'dog' appeared. I had zero issues with Isaac's voice as Margot. To me, their vocals didn't stand out as being worse than anyone else's. I think it was also mentioned here that Elle doesn't look different enough from the Harvard students. This was the most confusing comment to me, because Elle is wearing bright pink and the Harvard students are all in brown, so she couldn't have stood out more... Unless there were different Harvard costumes in previews that got changed? Just wanted to share my thoughts in case anyone had been keen to see this, but was put off by the reaction here. You might like it! Out of interest, did anyone see But I'm A Cheerleader at the Turbine? The incredibly camp staging reminded me of that a lot. Yes, a lot of people find homophobia acceptable. Laughing at the gays is funny. Ha ha. The gay gimp dogs what a hoot. When a work college sees this as asks you do all gays dress up as dogs.. yes it's hilarious.

I wonder how much they paid What’s On Stage for that review lol! Why do people selling TKTS always pretend to be impartial when reviewing. Same with the bloggers with links to a ticket store. I wouldn't go to a car salesroom and expect the dealer to point out the faults on a car!

Nearly 75% of the ratings on here are 2 stars and under. With not one board member giving it 5 stars. It would appear from looking back that this is the worst ever received production by theatre board members! Even Cinderella had a better rating!
Looks like the open air is going the way of the national theatre, if you don't like it, it's because your to stupid to understand what we are doing, approach. Definitely need a fresh set of eyes there to notice when things are so in dire need of fixing.
Wonder if the reviewers will be to scared to give a honest review, on fear of being called unwoke!

And the stereotypical gay dog... That's not even borderline homophobia laugh at the gays...
Thought that type of humour was left in the 70s.
Highlight so far is the rain stopped them 'singing'
Apart from Nadine Higgin playing Paulette... Who is fantastic. She learnt the score and is the.productions saving grace.

Oh dear.... How have they managed to get this so wrong. Sucked out all the humour.. Cast probably quite good... But not in the parts they've been cast in for this. Who needs to sing in key, when you can just shriek louder.
Set and costumes.. I can only assume. They have no budget left.

Another thing I wasn't happy with was that we bought tickets when they first went up on o2 Priority and had our date changed twice. They were band 4 tickets. The seats LOOKED OK on SeatPlan, but they were restricted view. We paid £69.50 each, but the actual seats sell for £29.50 (£40 loss per ticket) - I didn't even check before hand, only realised once we go to the theatre and noticed how dreadful the seats were. I'm going to email a complaint. TLDR: I bought the tickets during the o2 priority presale pre-Covid and paid £69.50 for each ticket. The seat now sells for £29.50 each and is now advertised as restricted view. For anyone interested in how this turned out, I made a complaint and was told that ticket prices changed... no response to my issue of the seat now being restricted view when it wasn't advertised as such when I bought it. I understand prices can change, but I can't help feeling a little scammed by this! If I'd made the purchase quite recently, I'd probably be more outraged, but because I bought the tickets so long ago, it isn't bothering me too much... but still... You may be able to take it up with star. As if they sold you restricted view tickets without informing you. Then I think they breeching the code www.star.org.uk/dispute-resolution/

I've seen the Circle several times on Rush. Haven't seen the Stalls come up yet. I got offered Row B in the stalls late last week when I tried. Keep trying after the initial batch get sent. We got better seats (Row D in stalls) waiting a bit. As first seats offered were right on side towards back of circle. Tried again at 11am and got better offer. Check how many seats left for sale normally. If there's quite a few empty seats, think they more likely to send todaytix another batch?
