One issue with the theatre they should really sort out is the air con. I remember the 10th Anniversary, I nearly passed out at interval because it was so hot. And Rachel set the house on fire but that's neither here nor there. 😂😂 I personally thought it was really draughty and cold in there. Maybe it’s because I was in front of the dress circle overhang? I was rather sweaty by the end but I still felt freezing. The overpriced ice cream cooled me down a bit though.

From what I've heard Jack is staying for another year as Bow. No I agree, anything Tucker was a peak. I think that's a general consensus for several people hahaha. I heard that Sophie, Alice, Rosa, Jack, Melanie and Andy were staying but I’m not sure how true/accurate that info is. It’ll be interesting to see what Andy is like as the Wizard because I had Martin Ball!

I like Jack and Melanie. I don't have particularly strong feelings either/or for the others.

Maybe it’s because their characters aren’t on stage as much as the others but it just felt like there was something missing. Loved Melanie as Morrible though. The sass/shade is real with this woman. Wanted to see more of her! On a lighter note, Alexandra Grierson totally stole the show as Midwife. Nose riff and all.

Kerry's return certainly was not a peak. In fact it turned into the most anti-climaxed 'peak' of all time as she was never there as was doing her solo concert tour at the same time so could not fully commit to either project.
Towards the end of her first run was definitely a peak for me and her last show in 2009 could possibly never be topped in terms of peak-ness.
Add into that the opening of the show with Idina and The tenth anniversary. Those would be my choices.

People camping out for dayseats on her first day back.

That would have been more of a bun fight than when you arrive before 7pm and wait for the ushers to open the curtains to the stalls and can barely move because some genius at ATG thought it’d be a great idea to put a snack trolley in the middle of the cramped foyer.

I think Sarah McNicholas has kind of turned into the forgotten Nessa. She started off after Katie left, then did July with the new cast, then Rosa kinda took over permanently. It still says her name in all the programmes and promotional material but there’s no clue as to where she is or what happened to her. I know she got injured but surely she’s healed now? (Unless my theory of her being locked in Rosa’s basement is true and she is slowly succeeding in her plan to turn Wicked into her one woman show)

On a lighter note, Alexandra Grierson totally stole the show as Midwife. Nose riff and all. Speaking of which (witch?), how did they see her nose before realising she was green...? Anyway, all this talk of crazy fans has made me realise, I don't think I've seen barriers up at any other theatre stage door. Does anyone know of any others where they have them?

It’s really odd that they have them because I’ve never seen/heard of them being anywhere else. I don’t think there were any when Miranda Hart and Craig Revel Horwood were in Annie, and I don’t know about Chicago with Cuba Gooding Jr. Are the Wicked fans that crazy that they need to barricade the door to protect the star actors?

It's more the security guard that's the thing. That's a recent change. There's been barriers as long as I can imagine and I can't see a reason to complain about them as otherwise you would have a scrum with people barging in front of you and blocking people leaving. Seen it at so many shows and it's not a fun experience.

Anyway, all this talk of crazy fans has made me realise, I don't think I've seen barriers up at any other theatre stage door. Does anyone know of any others where they have them? They have them at Hamilton (and a security guard), but I expect that's as much because that place is still a building site than anything else! I think the Wicked barriers are partly for a similar reason - that street is pretty narrow so the performers need space to get out of the building!

I've seen them before at Funny Girl and at shows where there is a big star in (e.g. when Bradley Cooper was in Elephant Man).

When I was at Wicked the other day I went to stage door, the security guard was only there about 15 minutes and then he left! Which was a shame as he was quite nice to look at .

I didn't actually see the security guard. He was there pre-show but I'm not sure about post-show. I was at the end of the queue for stage door though, at the end of the barrier.

Has anyone set up a TeamApolloVictoriaSecurityGuard Twitter fan page yet? You’re so 2009! Did the Twitter, did the fb group, have even gifted him some personalised Marmite after spending a Tuesday night together when I didn’t bother with the show and just stage doored. We became great friends and still write occasionally (if you consider a cease and decist order ‘writing’.) It’s someone different now... 😂

Has anyone set up a TeamApolloVictoriaSecurityGuard Twitter fan page yet? I wouldn't be surprised if someone has. There's Team Alice Fearn, Team Laura Pick, Team Sophie Evans, Team Rosa O'Reilly.. You get the idea.

I'm sad there isn't an "Alice Fearn Fans" account because then somebody could set up "Team Alice Fearn Fans", and it would be amusing watching people trying to work out whether they're the "team" for "Alice Fearn Fans" or fans of "Team Alice Fearn". Of course this could then go on infinitely as people tried to work out who "Team Team Team Alice Fearn News Web Updates Fans Fans Fans" was supporting.

After every one of their Tweets would we have to reply "OMG! Best Tweet EVER! I died!" 😉

After every one of their Tweets would we have to reply "OMG! Best Tweet EVER! I died!" 😉 Yes. You’d also be forced to give them Nutella constantly until they developed type 2 diabetes Seeing the show tonight in London for the first time this year as Kerry Enright is on as Madame Morrible. Will be interesting to see how the cast has developed (or regressed) as I think this is just about the longest I’ve gone without seeing Wicked in the West End since I first saw the show.

No Standby Elphaba. Instead, Ashleigh Gray will be called in on nights Louise is out.

Lovely night seeing the show. It was far more enjoyable as a result of me not having seen it for so long. Alice was great, still got the same spark and fire in her eyes that she had the previous times I saw her. She's got a really powerful voice and I can't fault any of her big three songs, she's really refined them a lot so that they're all very in your face belty, which I love from an Elphaba. Her acting is nice too, better than last time, she's not quite so reliant on the angry frantic vulnerable intense "let's hope something good comes out of these 43 different portrayals mashed up together" any more, although she is occasionally a bit shouty. What Is This Feeling just seemed to be 3 minutes of Alice and Sophie screaming directly into each other's faces with variable diction, which I thought was unnecessary. As far as shouty goes though, she's nowhere near Ms Hughes or Ms Hatton so it's not really much of a concern. I did think it was a better overall portrayal than I've seen her give before though, and she played the "squealy little brat" portion of the For Good scene as if she was mildly tipsy which actually worked surprisingly well. Then when I saw her at stage door afterwards I realised she hadn't been acting Just kidding..... I saw her at stage door before, when I gave her all of her Nutella based gifts and informed her that it was my 100th time meeting her (this week) Sophie was actually a massive improvement over last time. She's never going to be the funniest Glinda, I think that's a given, but she has her funny moments and she has a really beautiful voice. Vocally she's one of the stronger Glindas I've heard, that might be because she just had 2 weeks off, but it sounded good. I'd put her at a similar level to Savannah, which isn't the highest praise in the world, but she could be worse. She seemed to have a problem with the "u" vowel, there were references to "speck-er-lation" and "rep-er-tation", but then was fine in "pop-U-lar" so I don't know why that was. She has nice chemistry with Alice though and although she is unlikely to ever be one of my favourites, I think she's doing an okay job. Bradley was pretty good. I mean I still want to tie him down and take some scissors and a bottle of Pantene to that hair, but aside from flicking grease in the ensemble's faces during Dancing Through Life, he was good. He doesn't shout as much as he did, which is refreshing because it's much harder to fall in love with someone in I'm Not That Girl when they're yelling at you. He has a lovely voice though. Rosa, Jack, Andy and Martin were good, there are only limited things you can really say about those roles, but they all did them to a satisfactory standard. You'd have no idea from looking at her that Rosa is harbouring (a fugitive) a former Nessa in her basement, so she's clearly got the "I'm a regular human being" thing nailed. Kerry was absolutely brilliant and it was so wonderful to see her up on that stage again after so long. She has all the same ferocity and sass as she did in her 2013-17 run and a few fun little quirks and evil Professor Umbridge from Harry Potter giggles in there too. I absolutely love that woman, and the only reason I went to stage door afterwards was in the hope of saying a quick hello. I assumed she'd rush off as obviously she has her baby to get home to but she was there for a good 20 minutes which was unnecessary but so lovely. It was a good night all in all, I think this cast is pretty strong. Other than Alice there's not really a stand out lead, but they're all doing a pretty good job and I suppose from the Wicked powers-that-be's perspective that's all they need.
