The original run was CHF but she wasn’t involved in the public workshops, which sold out almost instantly. I remember really enjoying Charlotte Wakefield as Veronica!

Saw the matinee yesterday at Wimbledon. Russell Watson’s accent sounded like he’d watched Taxi Driver a few too many times, but he’s easily one of the best-sung Billy Flynns I’ve ever seen. Both Roxie and Velma were great, I didn’t get much of Sheila Ferguson from the back row of the upper though so can’t really judge on that. The show is one of my favourites because it’s always so pertinent, the script never changes but always seems relevant. Always worth watching.

Looks like Chrissie Bhima (who was amazing in a youth production of Once on this Island) was supposed to be joining as Cinderella

I think my favourite part was when Glen Hansard showed up, sang a verse to show what good vocals are like, and left me annoyed he wasn’t involved in composing just because I loved Once and Cyrano’s songs were… okay.

Loved Amara as Laurey in the Chichester Oklahoma! a few years ago, incredible soprano. Really looking forward to this one now.

Considering Shaq Taylor (who is an incredible talent with a voice I didn’t quite believe when I first saw him perform a few years ago) is joining from 4th Feb, it looks like they were just waiting for him to be available after Hex’s run ended.
The understudy stepping up for such a long time was admirable but I hope this doesn’t diminish the exciting opportunity for Shaq Taylor. It’s definitely made me more interested in seeing the show.

The PCC had it scheduled for a singalong showing in March 2020, I’m still sad it hasn’t been rescheduled yet!

I think I’ve found it - a credits page has popped up on the UK site for Austin Durant and he’s not listed on the cast page. He previously did a short run as Zidler on Broadway. Could be wrong!
Well spotted!
Which would lead me to assume he has a touring cast role as yet unannounced, as they haven’t started yet and having done the Broadway stint he’d know the show already! I can’t see anyone else making sense.

I’d love an On Your Toes revival. Irek Mukhamedov was wickedly funny in the festival hall production and I have great memories of that back in 2003 (I think?)

as did Skimbles (providing he did the tap dancing himself). He absolutely did. I’m pretty sure all the dancers did, it looks like they were cast for dance first and there’s several world-class dancers in the mix (including McRae who played Skimbleshanks).

I really love a Kander and Ebb show and this is one I hadn’t seen before. Got a todaytix rush seat in the royal circle last night and had a great time. It’s ridiculous but in a really fun way, Carley Stenson is wonderful and I really loved Andy Coxon singing I Miss the Music. Manford acquitted himself pretty well with a very earnest Frank Cioffi and Rebecca Lock was a real highlight. Will be popping by again before 6th January!

I hadn’t seen Hamilton in about a year and a half so on my holiday to Chicago last month I dropped into the CIBC box office and managed to get great tickets for the day I wanted later in my trip. There’s no thread for the Chicago production so just putting it here, Miguel Cervantes has easily the best A. Ham I’ve ever seen. You can feel how exhausting and annoying he would be to spend time with 😂. Great cast in Chicago, I’m just sad I only got one visit!

After being too unwell to use my ticket for a Hayward/Campbell cast of Sleeping Beauty I’m off to today’s matinee. Double debut for Anna Rose O’Sullivan and James Hay, I believe, and I’m very excited for this!

I have three Swan Lakes booked (but I’ll add a fourth at least) - Magri/Sambé, Naghdi/Ball and Takada/McRae (although who knows if he’ll be recovered in time) - can’t wait! I'm SO tempted to book for Sambé as well I’ve accidentally made a habit of going to see his role debuts, and he never disappoints. Watching his development into one of the real company stars over the past few years has been a complete joy - his performances are now must-book for me!

Don Darryl Rivera appears to be in London, so that might be the Iago?

Saw the matinee today. I think some of the effects use was a bit over the top (so much confetti, ugh), but it was well-sung and well-acted. Cannot believe Marsha Songcome performing such a demanding role while six months pregnant, her debut was amazing and she brought so much to the painful ending of the story and moved me in a way I’ve not experienced with this show. Nice use of the staging too, and a beautiful day to be out in the sunshine.

Going to be returning a ticket for the sold out matinee today (hopefully) once the box office opens at 11, if anyone is looking for a last-minute seat.

I mentioned earlier in the thread - I got rush tickets around 11am on the first preview. They only offered standing. I imagine you have to be a bit earlier now.

I wonder if Marsha Songcome is Alternate Eva? That would be great! She’s just posted on Instagram that she has a couple of confirmed shows as Eva!

I don’t know for certain but I’ve never seen a standing ovation at the ROH, they have multiple red runs where you can show appreciation and flower throws for special occasions. Lately I’ve seen a few people stand and just imagined it’s annoying as then the people behind have to stand just to see.
Have to agree with Mr Sondheim and his comments at the NT recently, mentioned earlier in this thread.

Any tips on which side is base myself? For standing just switch halfway through! Best of both!

I was also in the pit (got a £15 ticket from todaytix rush at about 11am) and thoroughly enjoyed this. Inspired, brilliant casting and a really fun take on the play. I can’t wait to go again!

Actually, I saw Phantom a few years ago and was sitting right by the side doors in whatever they call the upper circle. Dashed to the loo as soon as the house lights went up for the interval and did, quite literally, bump into Scott Davies in full costume. So your joke about waiting in corridors isn’t totally far off!

Yep, she keeps popping back for brief spells now that Hunchback of Notre Dame is finished in Gothenburg (which she was fantastic in, by the way, amazing production!) and has an Eliza show or two coming up this month. So glad she’s back.

I love The Good Fight! And the broadway star spots would take forever, they honestly never stop appearing just like in The Good Wife.

So sorry Dawnstar - I didn't see your message! I was around B81, so close! It was a really beautiful performance. Can't wait for Wednesday now!
